Weight 129 (-1.2) - 4 pounds to top of goal range. Anything around 1 pound is a good weekly weight loss now that I am so close. Without a lot of effort which still amazes me. I have been losing at pretty much the same rate as after VSG.

My eldest DD arrives today. We have planned our dinners out for the 5 days here to give her a broad perspective of the experience: Nearby pizza place tonight, best fancy restaurant tomorrow night, casual dining on a pier with great band Sunday, best fish restaurant Monday, and tapas in the garden at a historic house on Tuesday. Also pre-arranged is 1/2 day snorkeling off a boat on Monday.

We were just looking at a little RV for sale in an RV park on Cape Cod. Pretty nice - 1 bedroom, a full bathroom, outdoor shower and deck built on the leased land. About $50K plus $7500 for the land lease. Food for thought after I sell my house if we want an escape place other than DH's home.

DS sent pictures of flowers starting to bloom at home (on FB). Should be absolutely gorgeous when we get back in a week. He is supposed to get the back deck cleaned up and the furniture put out so we can start digging into the basement clean out immediately.

Time to get a walk. Have a Friday filled with fabulosity!

Wow! 120s! I haven't seen that since middle school.

Liz, we no doubt did have very different college experiences. I went to the University of Minnesota, which is also huge, but I lived in the dorms one year, where I met my roomies. (Well, one is BFF. We met our other roomies together). I never really found friends in classes, but I did make friends with awesome people I met at student jobs. In fact, one of my co-workers was DHs dorm roommate one year, and he is the one who introduced us. :) I went to a grad school in my 40s at a much smaller university (night classes). We had a cohort, so all 20 of us were together for 2 years. I thought there were some people I'd remain friends with, and we tried, but life got in the way. That's the thing about Minnesota. Most people are born here, to people who are born here. We reach adulthood with friends and family nearby. DHs siblings all lived within 5 miles when the kids were little. People who move to Minnesota say its hard to make friends, because everybody already has a social circle from when they were 10 years old. They say, Minnesota Nice is really Minnesota Ice. Our friends from Argentina, the wife belonged to a Latina womens group, and they would talk about how hard it was to make friends. She proudly told them, I have one! They were all amazed. :)

I am so impressed with how you, and CC and Ocean Diane move into New communities and find your people. I need to get better at extending invitations to nice people I meet. I have a coworker I like so much, and we always say, we should get together this summer, then we never do. I need to be more mindful of this, because if I don't I will retire and never see the co-workers I enjoy again.

Speaking of retirement, one year from today will be my first full day of retirement! And yesterday was the 12th anniversary of my WLS. So kind of fitting, when I retire, it will be June 13, 13 years after the start of a new life, and the beginning of yet another kind of life.

I so enjoy waking up without a relentless beat of a schedule. I have to remind myself that nothing is a race right now to get it done because I only have a window of 40 minutes or something. There is always the business of life to contend with, but I just love this more leisurely pace. Yesterday, instead of running through Costco as fast as I can, I browsed to see what was new. I didn't keep looking at the clock while I was working out.

Today looks to be gorgeous! Sunny, 82, light breeze. Our plan is to go kayaking when DH gets home from his part-time shift. He is going to start his summer vacation on June 28, when we go to San Diego until I go back to school in August. Then he returns to his part-time gig.

Finishing my 2nd cup of tea here on the porch. Then off to Planet Fitness.

Ask her to lunch or coffee at your scone place! I really try to pay attention to that feeling I get when I know I could be really good friends with someone. I don't feel it often, but it's that feeling of, "ooh they are fun and easy to be around."

Exactly how I felt when we met for lunch! I do wish we lived closer to one another!

I met someone when I was consulting at a start up about 30 years ago. She was also consulting, and we had both worked at different times at the same software company previously. Anyway, we hit it off and after a couple of months, I finally asked her and her family over for dinner...fast forward, we have been really close friends ever since. She finally moved to Benicia a couple of years ago!

Happy Flag Day! I have friends who send out Flag Day picture cards with a family picture, everyone in red, white, and blue. It's in lieu of Christmas cards so they aren't adding another task to the hectic Christmas season. Smart!

193.8. The bad chicken weight removal tactic worked. Haha... 10 pounds to "normal" and the top of my range. My goal is 170 eventually.

I had a great time with my friends. They are so much fun. And the one who hadn't seen my house raved about it. She said, "Wow, if we had seen this when we were looking I would have wanted it!" Which made me feel so good because her house is amazing. Yay! This morning we are going to shopping for chairs the three of us for my neighbor. Another fun day on tap! So I should go get dressed...

Hope you all have a great day!

Damn, another bird strike just now. I wish there was a remedy...

The bad chicken chased it away, LOL!

I like the idea of Flag Day cards.

Happy Friday!

Wow Liz! 129 and 4 lbs. to goal. My goal is 130. I got down to 123, maybe 121 post VSG and that is too low for my build. I have an athletic build with broad shoulders, muscular (big) calves and thighs and a bigger bone structure. Like CC, I'm an upside down triangle when in shape. I'm a little jealous of women who have petite frames. I'm only 5' 4 but am far from petite.

My best friends are still my besties from High School. Because I went to college in my home town and lived at home, I didn't form college friendships. I've formed friendships with people over the years from work, or neighbors, or from church but nothing as close as the 2 besties from High School. I've always wanted a local bestie couple that we could go on vacation with etc. We are kinda getting to that place with DS #2 ex's parents but now that the relationship is over and we will be moving, I'm not sure we will get there. We are still doing social things with them though.

All kids except for DSD will be home over the weekend. The younger 2 are renting a U Haul to move DS # 2 stuff to Madison. Build your own taco bowls or nachos for dinner tonight. Easy meal to feed a crowd and everyone likes it!

Excited to start my injections on Sunday. Thankfully, after working in healthcare for 30 plus years and taking care of a husband on hospice, needles don't scare me! Blood glucose stick to the finger hurt much worse than a little sub Q injection!

Traveling with friends can be so much fun. But sometimes it can go bad! I'm still getting over a trip to Florida where a friend was wrestling a bottle of rum out of her husband's hand while at the beach. She was trying to pour it out on the sand, because she was mad and thought he had too much to drink. He had, but we could probably just let him sleep it off. DH and I walked down the beach to get dinner, and let them take care of it. Things were calmer when we got back, but it made for an interesting ride back to my parent's house. PS: it was my rum! It was going to last me the whole week. Guess not.
