Good morning! Kirby and I were up early to go for a training session at Tlaquepaque, a local outdoor shopping center with lots of walking paths (and gorgeous flowers this time of year). It doesn't open until 10, so there were just a few people and dogs walking around. Good for distraction training. The sweet boy did a really nice job. But when I watch the trainer handle him, he's so good. An excellent reminder that it's me that needs the work more than Kirby! It's like learning how to drive a stick shift. I know in theory what my arms, hands, legs, and feet should be doing, but the reality of doing it all smoothly is going to take a lot of practice!

Liz, Californians (southern ones at least) always marvel at how unfenced the rest of the country's yards are. It's a common comment on "leaving California" forums I used to belong to. Everything in Southern California is fenced to within an inch of its life! And fenced by the builder before the houses even go up. It's never optional.

DD, I don't send food back for similar reasons to Liz. I don't want it to come back when everyone else is finished. But if it's not edible, I will say something. I have sent back undercooked chicken because that is just nasty. But most of the time, unless it's an easy fix (bringing me the correct side if the wrong one was brought), I just eat it.

Peps, I have also thought the same, that you go through similar phases a few weeks behind me...

Well, that was my one calendar thing today, so I have no other plans. I may go to the grocery store. And maybe keep cleaning my closet island. And maybe mop the family room floor as I can see dog slobber marks with the light hitting it just so right now.

I also need a list or I'm going to forget something I wanted to take care of before I go.

Take care all!

Lazy day at home with Mom after running to the drugstore for a few items for her.

I'm one to send back a wrong order if it is really wrong, like Liz, if it is just a little off I usually don't say anything. Just last week I ordered a hot latte and they served me an iced one instead. I decided not to send it back and then was thankful because we were sitting outside at the coffee shop and the iced drink was actually quite refreshing!

Calorie range still on track. I even had enough calories left last night to get a small DQ cone. Mom was thrilled to get a DQ blizzard!

Middle son will be home today to finish cleaning out the apartment after his break up in March. Their lease is ending so the boyfriend that kept the apartment will be moving out too. DS#2 will have to rent a storage unit until he can find an apartment in Madison. He is staying with his best friend right now, couch surfing!

Time to make lunch for me and Mom. I think we will have a caprese salad.

Greetings all

It's sunny and breezy. Scrabble was one and two for me. Just can't beat that Shark unless I have extraordinary luck. I did play "dotards" for 64 points.

Yeah I rarely send food back at a restaurant. Can't remember last time I did that. I did get after the deli person for giving me a half pint instead of a pint. I really dislike people who mistreat servers but know it's totally possible to send something back in an agreeable way. My biggest pet peeve is cashiers who are not paying attention and keep customers waiting. Happened the other day at CVS. I gently ran my cart into the counter so she would notice me waiting.

Hmm never been to a cheesecake factory but I hear it's among the least healthy of all restaurants.

Yeah Liz, Justice will miss his pack. But he will be glad to have you back. You are right, CA is a very fenced state and it seems like the smaller the yard, the bigger the walls.

Stopped in the studio for a bit and did some glazing. Kind of empty today as it often is in nice weather.

My roses appear to be on steroids. At least the back yard ones. The front ones are pathetic. I treat them the same.

Plotting and planning for my brother's visit. Dog wrangling will be an issue as Tesla may not like his dog. Hatching a plot to get him introduced to this one friend of mine who is gay as is brother. Tee hee. Also must investigate whether Chez Rat restaurant is open again. I think we will do a day touring Avenue of the Giants. Huge trees and no need to get out of the car.
