Chatty day yesterday!

DS is back home on Cape Cod and just picked Justice up a little while ago. I have a feeling Justice is going to miss the freedom and companionship he had where he was staying. We want to fence the yard at DH's Cape home this year so he and his cousins can enjoy the outdoors more.

DH and I had a nice evening out last night. We walked to another resort not far from here and had drinks at the bar then ate in the restaurant. Very good food and service. I would definitely go there again.

No plans of any type for today though tomorrow we want to go snorkeling again. We plan to eat in tonight.

Have a tutelary Tuesday!

Good morning! I slept until 8am! Now I'm showered and enjoying my chai as I watch the local news. Light rain, which is okay, because I'll be inside enjoying a relaxing massage.

DH and I were talking about communication styles, and I told him DD once told me I can be intimidating when I need to. It surprised me, but it makes sense I've learned to project don't mess with me, or students would eat me alive. DH agreed, and gave the example that I will send my food back if there is an issue. We both agreed I do it politely, but yes, I do send it back. I don't think this is intimidating, but maybe assertive? He thinks this is kind of remarkable. I didn't realize he would not send his food back, even if they brought something he didn't order. So now I want to know, if food is served to you in a restaurant, and it is not how you ordered it, do you all just shrug and eat it, or do you ask to get it fixed?

Tomorrow I'm dining with my college roomies. Next week we are getting together with friends (also from college, these friends and I worked together at the University library) we haven't seen for a couple of months. Cheers to days when we can relax and make plans for fun, instead of just chores. Summer is off to a good start. :)

Sounds like your summer is off to a great start!

On restaurant meals that aren't correct, it depends. If the meat is just slightly off from the requested doneness, I probably wouldn't say anything. However if it is way off or I really just don't feel I can eat it I will definitely send it back. However, I hate that most of the time when that happens the fixed meal comes after everyone else is done eating which may be why I don't bother for a slight error. This past December we went to a nice restaurant in Florida with DH's sisters. Both ordered the same type of steak, both requesting medium rare. One came out perfect while the other was like shoe leather. The waitress took it back happily and halfway through our meal brought the replacement. It was essentially mooing and the waitress actually realized it first. So the sisters ended up sharing a meal - they said to forget replacing it. The hostess had the audacity to act like she was doing us a favor by not charging for the meal that never happened. Usually places will comp something like a dessert to make you feel better but that was all they offered. We haven't been back.

I agree, not for minor problems. I have a friend who runs servers ragged, and I don't care for that either. Also, depends on the restaurant. My expectations are higher if the steak is $40. I've sent food back, for example, because I asked for no gravy, and there's gravy everywhere. I never thought that was daring though. DH seems to think it is. :)

I would do the same. I don't like gravy on my meat.

I have sent food back but usually when it's egregiously wrong somehow...because, as others have said, it throws the pacing of the meal off for everyone...

The Cheesecake Factory dinner was "meh" and overpriced for what it was. I ended up ordering a burger and salad. I ate the meat and fixings, but left the bread. I did order a cheesecake for dessert, ate a few bites and packed it up to go. It'll take me two or three days to fini**** up, I think. A bit too rich and sweet for me these days.

I am beginning to understand how insufficiently my body produces the GLP-1/GIP hormones. For the first time in my life I feel "full" long before it is physically uncomfortable. Last night at dinner I knew I was done when the idea of another bite was off putting, both mentally and physically - should I take even another small bite, I might feel sick. Quite a different sensation and thought process for me.

I'm kind of stuck in an up down 2 pound cycle. I'm back on the low end of the two pounds. I think CC was having the same issue a few weeks ago. I seem to be following in her footsteps on this new section of our journey with the meds. Hoping to break the cycle by week's end.

Have some early grooming today and then this afternoon I have a complimentary appointment for a stretching session (albeit only 15 minutes) at a new place called The Stretch Lab. It is a place one can go to have a massage therapist or PT type person stretch you.

I must create a list today of little things I want to get done around the house this summer. I think without a list to keep me on track I will not get enough of the little odds and ends done.

Well, off to groom I go.... I realized, grooming is going to be a great side income once retired. If I can do a 3-4 dogs a week that'll be an easy chunk of money each month! Or... I could always substitute (HAHAHAHAHA!!!)

I seem to remember weight plateaus being an issue after VSG. Mine wouldn't last too long but some people would be in them for weeks.

Lists...I should start one on projects to get my house ready for sale. Maybe pre-assign a couple to DS to accomplish before we get home?

Definitely grooming vs substituting!!!

I totally agree that these drugs make you realize one's body is not producing enough naturally!

My daughter goes to a stretch lab type of place in SF and LOVES it. She says it helps her a lot. (She played competitive volleyball in hs and has had 3 or 4 knee surgeries and a shoulder surgery -- don't get me started on THAT topic!)

I get that off-putting feeling! I had it today (unusual for day 7). I was having those egg bites from Costco for lunch. I was not enjoying #1 and had to stop after the first bite of #2 with a feeling of "if I keep eating this I will gag." Add eggs to my current aversions list!
