We leave for Aruba tomorrow around 6:30 am. Shouldn't be a problem being up since I have been waking up at 4-4:30 the last couple of days. At least I am sleeping pretty well prior to that.
So most crises averted so far. The refrigerator probably just needed a new thermostat which has been replaced though the technician said that if it frosted up again it means it will need a new control panel which is a $400 item. Better than spending a minimum or about $900 for a new refrigerator just before I sell the house.
The guy doing our living room in Florida took our advice and brought all the old cabinet doors to the cabinet place so they can replicate the sizes. Whew! I just have to get a final price from them so I can pay for them before they make them.
And Justice perked up during the day yesterday so perhaps he just had a rough morning. We bring him to the home he stays at here when we are away this afternoon. I will miss him.
Other than that, today was weighing day and I was down 2.6 pounds. Not bad - I have lost 21 pounds since I started trying to lose prior to my shoulder surgery and 16 pounds since I started the tirzepatide on 4/11. Just 8 more pounds until I hit the top of the range I want to be back to. Not sure if I will weigh while in Aruba though there is a scale in the exercise room near our room. I weigh at home without clothes but obviously need at least a bathing suit to weigh there LOL.
Time to start laundry so we have clean stuff to finish packing. DH asked if I could sew his PJ bottoms where the elastic has pulled off from the waist. They are old, so I would prefer to just replace them. He can be so stubborn about giving up old stuff sometimes. I'd rather go to the store and get him new ones than have to haul out the sewing machine. Hmmm...maybe I will just do that.
Have a fantasy Friday!

Good morning! 197.8 today. Yay! 34.4 down. I've slowed down and you all are catching up and passing me, but such is weight loss! Comparison is the thief of joy.
Toasty here - 92 - but as they say, it's a dry heat. Not unpleasant like it would be if it was humid. I still have the a/c on.
I got irritated with my door again last night and I think I've got it fixed. There are three "teeth" on the jamb that fit into holes on the door for locking. One or more wa****ting the door just outside the holes keeping it from closing on the first try. I grabbed a lipstick (at least it got used as I never wear lipstick!) and marked the teeth, closed the door and found which ones were hitting the door. Then unscrewed the teeth plates and monkeyed around to get them to line up with the holes. One had to be pried apart so I could move the tooth independently of the plate. Anyway, very satisfying to see the door closes and locks as it should. And a pox on the repair guy that left it worse than when he found it!!! He owes me $450...
I need to go to fill my drinking water bottle for the dispenser, but that's all on the list. Ooh, and I didn't get to my rock/agave sculpture project after my neighbor warned me to wear gloves in case I encountered scorpions or spiders. Blech.
Had a fun chat with my dad and his wife last night. He sounded fantastic (his voice gets really raspy after one of these infections and that was totally gone as was the shortness of breath) and said he felt great. They had me in stitches with the story of bringing the sailboat down from when it's kept over the winter. He's a great storyteller.
So that's me today. Still giggling over DD not receiving gentleman callers on her porch...
Take care all!
I agree that your Dad is a great storyteller. Such great news that he is better.
And congratulations on 197.8!
YAY, CC!
and you are so right about comparing- total buzz-kill.
And makes no sense- Together, we are traveling towards a similar goal, but, this is no race with winners and losers. Rather, we are each of us somewhere on our own personal path and need to compare our selves (if we must) with our own self.
I love-love every scale victory posted here because it gives me confidence in my ability to keep keeping on towards my goals.
At the same time, I am grateful and appreciative of posts that express stalls, frustrations, backward movement and derailment, any and all things common to everyone of us here. These posts humble me and remind me that I, too, struggle with my own difficulties and mishaps.
Why-o-why on earth!!? What's happened to Professional Integrity?? Seems like many work/service providers have no scruples regarding the quality of work they contract for. I will gladly pay well for anyone who will just Do what they Say they will do at the Professional level thy claim to have Within the time frame mutually agreed upon, and for the Price contracted for.
155.8 (shocking, doubtful, disbelief). All reactions justified when reweighing 2 more times and seeing 2 equally silly and different weights. Time for new batteries.
157.0 which is more like it. Reality resumes.
Liz, Impressive weekly weigh in, and 8 # to go before you slip inside your happy zone. Good on you. While I weigh every day, I tally progress the 1st of each month, so tomorrow...
Hanging on to old clothing must be a guy thing. There is something legitimate about keeping this and that because it is vintage and eternally stylish, or maybe holds a bit of nostalgia, but what is it with holding onto worn, torn, tortured, ratty tee shirts, socks, underwear, sweaters, jammies, etc???
Enjoy your flight and take in all the Aruba fun and relaxing you can.
I went walking up in the hills here today with my walking friend, and we saw a pair of swans and 4 babies in the reservoir/lake! I don't know that I've ever seen swans here before. Down where I am, we have lots of ducks/geese/gulls/herons/pelicans/cormorants and the very occasional bald eagle-- but not swans! Very cool.
I was SO HUNGRY yesterday--I ate a ton. Took my reduced dose shot this a.m. and am hoping that my appetite gets back under control quickly. I am trying to up my protein by drinking a Fair Life shake in the morning. I've nevery had much appetite in the mornings so I usually don't eat until later in the day, but I know I've been shorting myself on protein so I'm kind of forcing myself to get it down. But I think it does spur my appetite, and I am hungrier than usual at lunchtime. Oh, well...
Lizanne
I am similar in that I'm not very hungry in the morning but when I do have something for breakfast I feel like I am more hungry at lunchtime.
