Homeownership is a never ending parade of maintenance tasks especially when the elements are harsh! House painting here is a 5 year affair and I did it last year. I just finished my roof coating, which with this new product takes it from a 5-7 year task to a 10 year task. Also some big landscaping things I wasn't planning on just finished, next up servicing all the heat pumps and getting the fire sprinklers serviced...
You must live in a great location (though hard on the house)! Houses are always a lot of work.
I am selling my Cape Cod house this year because I am tired of the maintenance and DH has another home on Cape Cod. I initially thought I would buy something smaller with less maintenance required so my kids would still have a family place on Cape Cod but they didn't really care.
Greetings all
It's sunny but brisk here today. My mission was to finish planting the flowers I got two weeks ago. Fortunately geraniums tolerate a lot. So my workout consisted of scooping dirt into a bunch of half empty pots. I am trying to create a nice vista so when I sit I can see a peaceful view of flowers on the deck and birch trees. So I my goal is to move all the ugly stuff within my view such as bags of dirt and unused crappy planters.
Today was the start of the Kinetic Grand Championship race. Look it up. It's a hoot! We watched the start on local tv. We used to go down to the plaza in Arcata to watch the start but it's just too darn crowded now and no place to park. Race takes 3 days. Tomorrow they go into the bay which is always amusing. Finish on day 3 in Ferndale.
CC sorry you took a fall but glad you did not face plant in a cactus! That would indeed have been horrific. Hope pain ends soon. I just popped some advil due to my garden activity.
Lizanne a 4 foot fish! At least the seagulls can eat something healthy instead of their usual diet of McDonalds french fries. I swear all the gulls around here spend all their time in fast food parking lots.
Liz congrats on new little niece! Hoping your shoulder PT goes well. Yeah you don't think about hands needing exercise but they do need it. Grip strength can really go just like anything else.
More shrimp tonight. Thats the problem with Costco shopping for two people. Whatever you get is enough for 10 and after three days you are sick of it. Also need a trip to the dreaded CVS for chewable calcium, coffee and advil. Even though I dislike that store I would hate to see it close as it's kind of the only variety store left in our town since Kmart shut down. The shelves are half empty which makes me wonder if it's going to fail.

At least you bought your plants. I need to get my act together to purchase them, then plant them. Everyone needs a peaceful place to sit outside!
