Injection 7 of tirzepatide on-board (5 mg). Busy day yesterday! Three appointments including HenryMeds and my PCP. I'm all set to receive my next shipment of tirzepatide next week (before I leave for Aruba). And my PCP had no problem with me getting compounded tirzepatide because many of his other patients are on it and no one can get the brand name stuff. He also upped the dose one of my existing BP meds to replace the one I stopped. He agreed that I needed to be fully off it.

Afterwards we drove to DH's house so he could get his car and mow the lawn. His kids who somewhat unenthusiastically agree to help take care of maintenance haven't been down to mow - the grass was past DH's knees. He was NOT happy. Also they agreed to paint the doors and install a new house number sign he had special ordered as well as a new door knocker to coordinate and neither has been done. Frustrating, especially since doing that kind of yard work is going to get more and more difficult for him as he is turning 70 soon.

Anyway we stayed overnight there and went out to dinner. This morning we are taking Justice for a walk on the beach, then driving back to Boston for my checkup with my shoulder surgeon.

Before that I am enjoying my cup of coffee with Fairlife Protein drink in it as creamer. I remembered that trick from VSG and since I bought a bunch of them but have been lax in drinking them I thought it would be a good way to boost protein without thinking about it too much.

Have a thoughtful Thursday!

Maybe I need to post this early more often - OH is zipping along this morning!

198.6. So the 190s stuck! Though I do have a headache, which usually means I'm dehydrated, so some could be that.

Well, I am on the HOA board. I'm sure you are all eagerly looking forward to me lamenting that fact for the next 3 years!

My friend Bill is coming up for a few days starting today. Should be fun, though I need to tidy up (what's new). So there's eating out in my future. Hopefully won't do too much damage!

I just read there is a heat dome coming in early June that will mean temps from 102-112 in Sedona and up to 120 in Phoenix. Argh! So I'm enjoying the current temps while I can.

My dad's heart is showing some impacts from his recent stent issue leaving him weaker and short of breath. He's scheduled to see a cardiologist. I hate these episodes for him. It's a lot for someone turning 83 next month. If the stent could just stay infection free, he's a guy who goes to the gym doing squats and planks several times a week.

I went out to check on my fountain last night (just got a new pump and cleaned out) and saw a scorpion outside. I stepped on it. Then I went around outside with a blacklight and killed another. I hate them! The bug guy comes tomorrow. The gopher guy comes today. The roofers are finishing up today.

Anyway, I should go shower and start last minute tidying!

Take care all!

Sorry to hear your Dad has some lasting effects. Hopefully they can fine tune things. Too bad there isn't a way to catch problems earlier.

I hope Dad recovers fully! I noticed that my dad healed much more slowly once he was in his mid 80s - even an ordinary cold was harder from which to recover. Hopefully, given time your dad will be back on track.

Thank you! It's startling how much your kidneys control. Blood pressure, filtering waste from your blood, making hormones that create red blood cells, balancing sodium, phosphorus, calcium, and potassium in your blood... It's frustrating to see someone who is otherwise a standout for health for his age be set low by one organ!

My weight dropped a few tenths, but you know, I'm rather meh about tenths these days. However, it does prove that the drop was real. I really want that next pound off. LOL....

Yesterday I went to look at and drive the Toyota Grand Highlander. I'm pretty sold. It's ridiculously expensive (IMO), but the XLE model is doable. I also drove a hybrid Sienna mini van. I preferred the SUV. Plus the mini van was only a few thousand less with 50K miles on it than the brand new SUV. The demand for those mini vans is driving up the prices on the used vehicles. YIKES. Taking Ron to the dealership today after work to get his blessing.

The longer I am on the GLP-1 (and now GIP) med, the more my brain seems to be affected. My normal drive to eat impulsively is less and less. Yesterday I mentioned the donut. It did indeed end up in Ron's belly, not mine. Today there were donuts and home made blackberry orange muffins in the teachers' lounge. I grabbed a muffin, wrapped it up and put it in my bag. I simply am not willing to eat sugary foods early in the day. I do believe the GLP-1/GIP combo is playing a major role in that rational thinking and behavior. Is anyone else noticing the same? FYI, Diane S, having been on both the semaglutide and the tirzepatide, I recommend going directly to the tirzepatide. I find it a more effective medicine.

Two more teaching days..... Then the packing up of classrooms begins. YUCK! At least only two rooms to pack up this year.

Given I ate a Twix (2 bar pack) Tuesday night, I would say no. But I'm much less inclined to seek that stuff out than I was. So the rest of my cart was filled with healthy things and the Twix was an impulse buy at checkout. I'm not often presented with the bounty of sugar you face at work everyday! I'm not sure how I would do there...

I think I would call that a "yes". Understand, please, that I still eat dessert EVERY. SINGLE.DAY! I am finding it easier and easier to choose to avoid sugary foods early in the day. Before it was really, really hard and felt as if I was forcibly denying myself. The meds (and I'm sure the eating disorder therapy) help me make it feel like a choice over which I have control. It's just easier on the med and I don't seem to have the internal battle I'm so used to engaging.

Yes, though I historically have had a big sweet tooth I have no problem bypassing donuts, cookies and the like. No craving at all.
