I lost my post! Entirely my fault. I close the wrong tab.
Weight is the same today.
I got the mantle all waxed. It looks a lot better, but I think with some redder wax, it will look like the ceiling beams. That stuff is delivered Wednesday.
Today I am having tea with a neighbor. It'll be nice to get to know her better!
I haven't bought the painting with the crystals yet. I did see it has dinosaur bones too! The place I wanted to put it gets very strong afternoon sun, so I think that's a bad spot with fading and the adhesive at risk. I think it could go in the entryway instead. Anyway, that sent me down a rabbit hole thinking of other kinds of non-painted art that could tolerate more sun. Wood? Plaster? Metal? Fiber? Baskets? I liked the basket idea but after seeing so many on Amazon, I think I want something more special and less prevalent in the mass production spaces.
I should probably go get in the shower. Have a wonderful day!
As you are adding decorative touches, I was removing them today (to prepare for wall painting while we are gone).
The sun is no respecter of just about any material I know of and will fade and ruin most materials and surfaces that naturally have or have had color applied. Direct sun exposure is the most dreadful of all.
If you are Scrooge McDuck incarnate and/or otherwise have unlimited money to burn, replacing all the glass windows in the room with UV protecting glass in the room would be of great help.
A more realistic solution is to put true Art Glass in the frame in front of your art. This is not cheap by any means either, and you want to choose the highest grade you can afford.
My take on the problem is this- Proudly display your one of a kind original art on walls that have minimal or no exposure to sunlight. Then, give the sun its due and hang beautiful, replaceable art prints knowing that there will come a time when the print will go fugitive and need to be replaced.
DD just texted that she is going to start Tirzepatide with Emerge. I can't remember who is using that service, but someone in our TT is? DH and I told her we could pay for half of it until she graduated (December!) We joke we owe it to her after gifting her with our genetics. DD likes to say she would have survived the potato famine. Her metabolism: "what's that lass, you need to make it on 500 calories a day? Done!"
She should get her order the end of the week, or early next week. She tried Saxenda for almost a year, which is a daily shot. It didn't help her lose any significant amount of weight, but it did allow her to maintain during a very turbulent time. Hopefully Tirzepatide will provide more help. She will combine this with Contrave, which is supposed to suppress binge eating. Her doctor started her on Contrave a few months ago, so she could reach full dosage before she added Tirzepatide. I told her many of my friends experienced a reduction in inflammation, which is a huge draw for her, as maybe it can help with endometriosis. I so hope this will help her obtain whatever goal she is after.
Genetics, it's funny (but not) how powerful a factor they can be concerning body size and function. I think that there needs to be a perpetual trust fund set up in every family with these issues as an addendum gift -in-tandem that goes along with the unfortunate prodigy who just happen to inherit those genes.
Here's the news on my short list of actual things happening in my usually quiet life.
We heard from our realtor that the sellers have accepted our offer. She thinks the deciding factor (multiple offers at ?$'s) was that we were able to offer a cash sale.
Next hurdle to jump is the inspection. I didn't see anything concerning, but guess that is the purpose, I'm not expecting any unpleasant surprises.
I had an elementary school kiddo with a mischievous grin tell me once that she could count to one hundred. Here's how it went, "one, two, three, four, ninety nine, one hundred".
Having jumped into this adventure, I wi**** would proceed like this, "find, see, pay, blah-blah-blah, moved out and moved in and done with out all the necessary middle work.
