My TV is tuned to Fox Sports and I will put it on Ring 8 shortly. So exciting to be able to watch our famous friend!!!
Our visit with DS is going well. I fear I am eating more than the prior weeks though I'm certainly not eating a lot. I ate a lot of shrimp in the prior week to maximize protein and minimize calories. I got a little tired of them. The problem is that often they are the only healthy meal available to me at restaurants which we are frequenting even more this week than when DH's daughter was visiting. She stayed glued to her work and we were on our own for lunch. DS takes a lunch break and wants to go get something.
Luckily tirzepatide continues to keep my appetite in check and I haven't had any negative side-effects that I have noticed. Definitely no nausea or gastrointestinal issues. As a couple of you said early on it just feels like it did after VSG (after it was healed and I was back on all foods but really didn't want much).
I have been completely off that horrible BP medication for 5 days now and my feet are healing. I think everything is dried up enough that I am past the risk of infection. And though my BP is up about 10 points systolic it is still pretty darn good. I feel like the cardiologist was tamping it down super low because he could with that medication but the ultimate side effects are definitely not worth it.
Best of luck to Peps! Have a ton of fun Tuesday!
164.8 may be in a bingupandown state - hopefully a short one.
Wasn't (and isn't) Devon and Blitz WONDERFUL!! So handsome - great suit, Devon, and perfectly groomed coat, Blitz! It was obviously evident-the mutual respect and love you have for each other. A privilege and joy to watch. Congratulations on you showing. Westminster, just Wow.

I loved watching Peps! Devon looked terrific and Blitz looked so happy and handsome. While he wasn't first, I thought the judge liked Blitz's personality best based on how she talked to him during pictures versus the others! I wish I understood what the judges see that makes one stand out. Peps, I hope you had a great time.
One snarky comment, dog shows at all levels are an utterly tragic parade of women's shoes. And the thick pantyhose that I imagine are that thick to avoid a run from dog nails. Normalize women's pants at dog shows! Kirby is enjoying watching all the dogs on tv.
The scale gave up 0.2 today. Inching ever closer to 30 pounds lost which is pretty much half way for me.
Not much on today. Some phone calls to make, a visit with a neighbor this afternoon, a walk for Kirby. Tidying still to do as ever.
I hope everyone has a great day!
Wish I could have watched the Westminster today, but I was in a meeting this morning. I'll look for the recording. It really is something isn't it!!! So remarkable.
Liz, glad to hear your feet are almost healed. I bet you continue to lose weight, despite the eating out. You maintained your weight with lots of restaurant visits, so you are probably eating less than that now.
CC, thanks for the link, I'll send to DD.
Opps, time for dinner, more later.
So my daughter and I had an interesting talk about body positivity and body neutrality. One of her roommates has a very successful blog/tiktok for plus sized travelers in Disney. She and the other women who write it are high profile enough to be offered comped hotel rooms, tickets, attractions to review on their site. They have lots of positive feedback, but also horrible, ugly, terrible comments. It again reminds me how tough the world can be to navigate when you're obese, that people can hate you just for existing.
My daughter has a right to exist, more than that, a right to thrive, in whatever sized body she is in. Her choice. Her roommates choice. Nobody else's business.I wouldn't have brought up medication with her unless she broached it first. We talked about that, that every person has as much right to exist, but I was not going to lie, being thinner makes life easier in so many ways. Physically, for sure. In practical ways, airplane and theater seats for example. And , unfairly I think, but how you get treated out in the world. DD said I was talking about body neutrality, which is a term I hadn't heard before. I thought it was interesting. While I've always thought nobody's worth should ever be tied to whether they are thin or obese or somewhere in between, I wasn't comfortable with the body positivity movement either. Because the truth is, carrying extra weight comes at a cost, it does not make someone less than , but to pretend the cost doesn't exist is not truthful.
Our understanding of all of this is ever evolving. What a conundrum weight and weight loss is. Even at this stage, when we have better treatment options than ever, there is so much stigma. One of my younger coworkers asked about Wegovy at a doctor's appointment yesterday. The doctor dismissed it out of hand and told her what she really needed was to eat less cheese and more vegetables!!! Outrageous!! I told her see another doctor. Our insurance covers this medication, and she would qualify. She has a virtual visit with a different doctor this week. I can't believe this nonsense still goes on.

I'm mad for your daughter. How uninformed do you have to be on obesity to not know in 2024 that eat less, move more doesn't work long term for 96% of people who try?
I like body neutrality a lot. It allows for respect for all of us as flawed human beings, but doesn't have the denial of the long term negative health effects of body positivity. There are too many body positivity activists who pass away in their 30s. These vessels of ours are amazing, but they have limits. We can only put so much stress on them before it catches up to us.
Greetings All
Sunny and warm today. At Scrabble this morning where I defeated The Shark but lost the other two.
Hooray for Peps and Blitz. I see a select which is a big deal. I missed the show due to our (^%$#^&*($$$ cable company but will catch another time. But I have had the treat of seeing Peps and Blitz show in person. (in dog).
Yeah Liz, shrimp can get old. We get costco shrimp every so often and by day 3 are tired of them. Do restaurants still have the old diet plate of a hamburger patty and cottage cheese? That sounds good to me but I bet no place does it. Congrats on the BP med escape.
DD whats wrong with your friends doctor? Can he/she not read? Jerk. Good on you for proper parenting your DD and not fat harping as was done to all of us. How many eating disordered people are in the world due to old fashioned and wrong attitudes.
Not much else. I have some nice asparagus for tonight. Big studio day planned for tomorrow.
