Up at 5 am this morning because I set an alarm for 5:30 and woke up earlier. Today we drive to Fort Lauderdale for wedding celebrations but we have a tight timeline beginning at 8.
My last of the starting dose of Tirzepatide is on-board and I lost 2.2 pounds over the past week. Not bad with the company we have had. In my last couple of loss periods (post-VSG and regain 4 years after) I mostly ate at home so had a lot of control over what I ate. This time I have to do it while still living our entertaining/eating out lifestyle. Probably not a bad education as long as I keep it in mind for the long-term and continue making the same kind of choices. Last time I was this weight was 3 years ago, about a year after I met DH (and was on the way up). The last time I was this weight before VSG was in 2004 the year before my eldest daughter died (she was already battling mightily against the cancer).
DS is at the airport waiting for a plane to Orlando where he will be on business for the next wee****il we pick him up. DD is at my Cape Cod home for the weekend with her fiancé to watch DS's cat and do food tasting for their wedding. We will be with DH's family and friends in Fort Lauderdale until Sunday. Everyone is on the move!
Have a flipping Friday!
on 5/3/24 8:28 am
Now that it's really Friday and not Ceci Friday, Kirby and I have training. I also have a hair appointment later. I had my choice between too early and too late as she'd gong out of town. I chose too early. Slave to my roots.
The weather could not be nicer. I'm loving it.
The scale was down a bit today. Still about a half pound above my low, but good enough. I am so bummed out about this shortage. My appointment with Henry Meds is next week, then a week to get it, so I will need to take the remainder of my previous compound that I didn't feel worked as well. It's interesting, when you dig into what compounding pharmacies these places use, they are often the same: Red Rock and Hallandale being the two most common. So choosing your "wrapper service" and how they price that stuff is what makes the price differences. I did look at going back to Join Fridays and the earliest appointment was 5/17! Compounds are getting very popular with the shortage. Others I looked at before I got overwhelmed were Mochi (can't see the appointment dates before you pay), Emerge (only offer up to 10mg), Orderly Meds (can't ship to MI - MI has shipping limits of 10mg for other companies). So complex! I just want to get my name brand prescription at the pharmacy... sigh.
I need to go get showered so we can head out. Take care!
My first HenryMeds shipment came much sooner than they told me it would but I would guess it depends on the pharmacy.
Friday's and Hallandale are working for me, other than the fact that after losing 9 pounds in two weeks, I have stayed the same for two weeks. I am grateful for 9 pounds in a month.

Not going to lie, today I was IRKED that my weight went up again, even if it was only 0.2 of a pound. LOL! Funny how the diet brain can kick in.
Another busy day for me today. A full school day, vet appointment for Blitz to get his health/travel certificate, a partner workout with the trainer, and a final breeding for Buster tonight. It is his first breeding and he is enjoying the HELL out of the experience. He's such a good boy! I talked with BFF this morning. We decided to postpone our weekly dinner until tomorrow.
Took my shot before bed. I almost forgot and was ready to hop into bed when I remembered! Perhaps because I was tired, I bent the syringe needle drawing out the med. Had to get a new syringe. Luckily, they sent plenty extra! Next week, I could technically go up to a 30 unit dose. I think I will email about that. I'm currently on a 20 unit maintenance dose. If I stay on this plan, that's as high a dose as I get.
Two things on which I must focus this week: Upping the water and protein intake. Both have been lacking this week, which could account for the slight uptick on the scale.
So, Liz, when you said Flipping Friday, what kind of Flipping did you mean? LOL!
Is your trouble getting in the amount of water you want because you forget to drink some steadily during the day, or something else gets in the way? Returning to an eating plan with more protein hasn't been a problem, but, trying to take in water - I just cant seem to- end of the day and the exact same water I poured into my glass is still there- or just about. Was no problem before, but now...
