I planted 3 plants! My dirt is hard to dig (I can stand on the shovel and it doesn't go anywhere), so I'm proud to have not given up after the first or the second. Still need to run some drip line...
And I walked Kirby with his pinch collar and he was such a good boy! A little jumping, but certainly didn't last a third of a mile.
Now I sit, dirty and sweaty with a literal hot dog on my feet.
170.0 holding steady.
Today was an outdoor work day. DH and I spent most of the time spraying for poison ivy- plenty to be found. Today was focused on Swann's original yard off the back deck, the west garden yard, and directly in front of and around the house proper. The plan tomorrow is to then finish fencing the west garden yard, then Swann can be in there or his little yard while we spray the rest of the property that was fenced in last year. He'll have about 2 1/2 acres he can roam and play off lead.
The reward for the day was a bundle of asparagus straight from garden to steamer to plate w/ grilled chicken- very good. Our asparagus beds are beginning to thin quite noticeably. Asparagus will live as perennial for about 35 years. Kurt planted the beds the first few years after we moved here, so I expect they will be no more in 4-5 years. It doesn't seem like that long ago when we came here- a whole life, I guess.
CC, your art adventure sounded so very fun! Maybe you could get the space alien artist lady to paint a mural or two on your great big walls- just leave all creative input to her and see what happens....ya think?
Lucky Swann having such a large territory to roam in. So much fun for dogs to be free like that (and safe).
I have never even seen home-grown asparagus. What a delight that must be.
