And we are off again! We leave in an hour to drive to the other coast and stay on Sanibel Island tonight. We haven't seen Sanibel or Captiva since they were devastated by Hurricane Ian so they may seem very different. Tomorrow we pick DH's DD and her husband up in Naples and drive to Orlando. Epcot on Monday. I am not really looking forward to the latter as there is supposed to be record heat and I have this monstrous sling on my body. I have already warned DH that I may opt to return to the hotel in the afternoon to get out of the heat and meet back up with them for dinner. We are staying onsite so I can take a boat back to the hotel. He says I am planning for the worse but I think it is a reasonable plan as I once visited Disney in the middle of summer with my kids when I was in my late 20's and I remember feeling sick with the heat back then.
Otherwise I am going to have to tread carefully with food with the tirzepatide on-board. Maximizing protein may be tough.
Time to get cleaned up and do the final packing. Have a star-gazing Saturday!
I am much happier working with Friday's/Open Loop for my compounded Semaglutide. It is $129 a month and $99 a month for coaching/support/check in. I was paying over $300 a month for meds and weekly check ins at a local rapid weight loss center. I worked with them for a month before Christmas and lost 20 pounds too fast and felt crappy. Then I broke my shoulder and all bets were off. I just took my third shot of this series Thursday. I lost 5 pounds the first week and 4 the second. After the third shot, clients do a virtual check-in, or complete a detailed questionnaire to request next series. I was approved the same day, and will stay at 1 ml for another month. I have noted a dramatic dumping reaction to rich foods this time. I had a half a cup of decadent she crab soup when out with friends Friday, and barely made it to the bathroom.
Liz, I actually had my first massage including face down position since surgery. Glorious ! There were few arm positions (rotating) I'll have to work back into. A group of us are going to hear Robert Baldacci speak on his new book at lunch today, and we'll receive a copy of "Calamity of Souls".

Kirby just threw up his entire breakfast onto the living room rug. This is why I told the designer I didn't want any expensive rugs and they have to be washable! Nothing like having to haul out the carpet cleaner (and dustpan) at 7am. Given how much Ferg used to throw up, Kirby is much better, but still, second worst job as a pet parent. He's happy as a clam playing with his toys. I'm not sure why the sick.
More positively, the scale was down another 0.4.
It's not going to be quite as hot as was predicted with a high of 84 Monday, so I am going to see if my friend wants to go plant shopping. I think I'm going to go for mostly perennials and cacti since I won't be here this summer to tend to them and annuals are fussier.
Liz, I think you need to remind Mike of the adage "prepare for the worst and hope for the best". I'm sure you won't miss that sling when you're done!
Just realizing I think both my shoulders are feeling pretty good today.
I think that's it this beautiful Saturday. Hope you all have a lovely day!
When (not hardly ever at all) has been because Swann has woofed his food down too fast. Fortunately, what comes up is easily gathered in a paper towel- no muss, no fuss. Otherwise he nicely deposits what is a little bile at the back door if no one is around to let the poor, upset tummy puppy dog out. We've been lucky ducks. Kirby is still so young- I'm sure the both of you will become the very best of friends; till then...don't loose track of that vac!

Epcot is fun, but yes, can be brutal in the heat. Does having your arm immobilized make it harder to walk? I would think your rhythm or pace could be effected by not having both arms moving/swinging as you walk.
Ocean Diane, glad you found a clinic that better suits your needs. And awesome to hear your recovery continues to go well.
Oh Kirby! Our dogs weren't big yackers, but our cats sure where. Yes, not the happy side of pet parenting.
The play, Richard II, was spectacular! We are looking forward to the next 2, Henry IV and Henry V. There is the opportunity to see all 3 in one day. We were tempted, but in the end, we decided to space them out. In 1990, this theater also did the History Plays, and had an all play marathon on a Saturday. It is now part of theater lore in Minneapolis that, when the actors took the stage to do the 3rd play, the audience rose to their feet with a spontaneous ovation. Quite an experience. We did see them back then also, but were not brave enough to try all 3 on the same day.
This morning I had to get up at 7:15am , still sleeping in a bit, but earlier than usual Saturday morning wake up, so I could get to my niece's hair salon for a color and cut. Hair is all restored, shiny and smooth, and the grey covered up. I have no idea what color my hair is anymore. By the looks of my roots, it seems like there is still quite a bit of brown, but my temples look like they are solid grey now.
Not sure what else is happening this weekend. DH was not here when I got home. I'll have to see what his plans are when he gets back.
Greetings all
It's overcast but dry here. Slow morning. DH picked up the old rocking chair. No place to put it of course. Thats why I got rid of it. Not sure if we will need to help these folks get to the airport so keeping that open. They arrived with about 6 empty suitcases to fill with her stuff to move so leaving town will be interesting. I suggested they go to the ups store and ship stuff.
Studio time today. Got a few new things made. Not sure if both the big kilns fired yesterday. I think one did not. That means I won't have new stuff monday. If it's not full, it does not get fired. Just waits a week. I was hoping for Monday because I got a message my gallery area was looking empty.
Have fun at Disneyland Liz. Yeah don't be afraid to ditch if it's too hot. Sanibel Island is near where the South Florida eagle cam is. I think the nest can be seen from the sidewalk.
Dog barf. Yeah it happens. Usually in the middle of the night. And in the closet. On the carpet. Never on the tile floor. Some dogs have to get those trick pet dishes so they won't eat too fast. They should make those for people.
Ocean Diane glad to hear your program is going well and that you treated yourself to a massage! Never thought about the face down issue with a bad shoulder but geez, I guess it impacts everything.
DD theater event sounds great. I have never seen any of those plays performed. Mostly the comedies. Sounds like an outstanding performance.
Hi Bonnie 150! Good to hear from you.
Spent some time with studio buddy today. Boy can that woman *****! She is still building this house and somehow has made it into this huge production where she has to personally select every nail. I have told her a zillion times to get a general contractor and get it done but she is sure they will all rip her off. Exhausting.
No clue whats for dinner tonight. Freezer exploration is warranted.
Cheers all.
Diane S
Hope you find a place for your old rocking chair. It sounds like it has sentimental value, which is the best value.
We have my husband's Grandma's dining room table. I remember his Uncle visiting, and saying as he entered the dining room, Ma's table! And then showing where he sat when it was in the house he grew up in. All the Uncles have passed away. DH will never give up this table, and even though it's not ideal for our space, I would never ask him to. It means too much.
