I trust all taxes are paid or extended? Because I had to pull money out of investments to buy our new Florida home I had a big payment. Hopefully after this year our changes will settle down and our taxes become more predictable. But this year will probably also be painful with the wedding and moving expenses coming before my Cape Cod home sale (so will also have to come from investments). Luckily there will be no capital gains on the sale of DH's former Florida home or my home sale.
Speaking of which my shipment of furniture and boxes from Cape Cod arrive today. Though I'm not positive where everything should go I do know that we are going to have to get rid of quite a few items here to make room. We can donate to Habitat for Humanity with a free pick-up in 2-3 weeks or pay a fee for them to pick up in the next few days. Not easy (or cheap) to move large items around!
Peps is right and my lower hunger level is probably not entirely a placebo effect after taking the tirzepatide. Yesterday I decided to only eat when hungry. I ended up not having lunch until 3 (no breakfast other than coffee). I felt super full on a hard-boiled egg and cottage cheese. I can't say the food noise is completely gone as I still have the urge to have something when it is there in front of me though I wasn't thinking about it while I was busy yesterday.
Time to take a walk. Though it is yet another perfect Florida day, we won't be doing outside stuff. I was able to start our necessary house cleaning yesterday by doing all the dusting. Today DH is going to work on the heavier stuff like vacuuming and floor washing and I will wash countertops. Then DH needs to make room for the arriving furniture. Busy day followed by dinner out with friends.
Have a turnaround Tuesday!

I mailed mine this weekend. Despite getting a lot back, I needed to pay my first installment estimated taxes for next year. I could have rolled my refund forward which is what I usually do if I get anything back, but my refund would have covered all of 2024 and a little of 2025! That is definitely an interest-free loan they don't deserve.
Landscapers are here planting plants in the beds. They'll fill my pots with soil too, which I'll plant after. Funny how just as with the trees, a lot gets planted and it looks like nothing happened. Big yard problems.
I didn't sleep well last night. Up at 4 and couldn't fall back. I was uncomfortable with my shoulders and my neck that's hurting as I compensate for my shoulders, cold because I changed to warmer weather bed coverings, but I think it's between cold and warm seasons and getting up to get a blanket felt like a monumental task, and I kept thinking about all the dog hair that got on my coverlet from the beast (who I don't want on the bed or the couch because he COATS them in fur, but of course he loves both) that was finding it's way into my mouth. Blech. The coverlet is in the washer. Sheets are next.
On a more positive note, my weight stayed the same from yesterday.
Today I am headed to the library to pick up some books on hold and walking the dog with a prayer asking for him not to pull my arms too badly. I think my right shoulder pain is from the deltoid muscle where it attaches at the shoulder. I can't hold my arm out in front or to the side, but can easily reach behind me. Weird. The left one is more inside and feels like it's healing faster.
I think that's it. I have a large dog head pushing down on my right hand making it hard to type.
Take care all!
Kirby may be a LOT right now but he sure does love you.
Take care of those shoulders!
The furniture arrived early! BTW a 20 X 10 foot Oriental rug weighs a ton. The movers would have put it out but we needed to mull over the location. DH is exhausted because I couldn't do anything. One plus: We offered the items we needed to get rid of and they took the 2 biggest ones. We can store the others in the garage until Habitat swings through the area on their free pickups. Yeah!
Housecleaning deferred to another day...
Taxes paid here. We had to pay in some, due to Social Security not withholding initially. We might have it figured out for 2024, we'll see.
Have fun Liz, deciding where to put some of your lovely things. Sometimes I play a game with myself, if we moved what would I keep? After 37 years in the same house, there are many things that I wouldn't spend a dime of money or a second of energy moving. And there are some things I would want to keep forever. I need to weed out some of the meh stuff so I can focus more on what sparks joy, as they say.
CC, you do need massive amounts of everything for your yard! Its huge. I still think you inadvertently bought a resort! Looking forward to seeing how the blue pots look once they're planted.
I used my paperwork day today. Once a quarter special ed will give us a sub for the day to write quarterly progress reports. I thought the day would be low stress, if kind of boring. I was working in a storage room, out of sight, but people kept finding me. A little harmless gossip and chit chat was nice, but then my sub came in and said, I need you in your classroom. There was pretty much a riot going on. Students were throwing things, yelling, swearing, saying things like I %$# hate you to other students. Then the sub said one student had slapped another! In 20 years at the high school, I've never had a physical fight in my classroom. I called the dean's office and said I needed someone ASAP. I told them all to stop talking, deans were on their way, and they could share their side of the story then. Miraculously they did. Once the deans got there, it erupted again. I'm actually glad they got to see how dis regulated these kids get! Some students were removed, and I got to go back to my closet. So a mixed bag of a day, and I didn't get quite as much paperwork done as I'd hoped. I'm a little concerned since I'll also be gone Friday for a Mammogram. Different sub, hope it goes better.
It's raining like crazy, all day. DH says perfect day to go hear some Irish music. We go to see Celtic Women in a little while. I'm looking forward to it very much.
Celtic Women should be great!
It does sound like the Sub set them off? When I was in high school I swear we could smell the ones we could take advantage of and sometimes got fairly out of control for those days (probably no where near what can happen now).
Funny thing about keeping furniture or not. When we sold the house we were in for 20 years and the kids had grown up in I brought every piece I loved and fit it in somehow. I also spent several months room by room going over what those pieces were. But for here it was a little different - I chose a couple of well loved pieces but also chose based on where a piece would fit in. And I didn't take much - just 7 furniture pieces, 4 boxes of Waterford and decorative items, and the best pictures (from a decorative or memory standpoint).
greetings all
Great sunny day here. Our taxes got extended. I had paid some in but have no clue if we will owe this year. I used to be so on top of this stuff. This year will be weird as I am taking 401k money but I am having withholding done. Glad everyone is done with this.
Liz when you think about what furniture to keep, one must think "ok how would I feel if I had to move this thing again"? Makes it easy to let go of stuff. We have far too much stuff and most is DH. We will soon be taking the puppy whelping box to friends so that will clear a space. DH is insisting we will get the garage empty enough for both cars but I am not holding breath.
Poor DH had his crown fall off last night. No pain but worrysome. Internet said to get this temporary crown clue which they had at CVS. So crisis averted. He has pending dental appointment.
Today I drove the new car by myself to the big city to play Scrabble. It is an amazing car. Smooth ride and very responsive. Except it kept telling me the three people in the back seat had not fastened seat belts. Hello, no one else in the car. Electric cars do odd things. It also moves my seat back when I stop the car and I have not figured out how to put my butt profile in. Soon will.
Got beat at Scrabble. Dang. Then I went to see my friend at rehab hospital. She is improving and I can see her getting out soon. They are working on her standing up and potty skills.
CC Kirby is so cute. Fur factory indeed. Bet there is no such thing as too much brushing.
Not much else. I better post this because OH is flakey. Cheers.
