Quick post as we have an appointment with the lawyer to update our Postnup agreement this morning. We did it right after we got married but now we own property jointly. I hate doing this stuff but it is for the kids mostly.

Counting down to retirement! Yeah! It's the best time and so great that you are healthy and will be able to enjoy it!

So I mulled over what time of day to do the injections and I did the first one this morning. I thought about the fact that if I am going to forget medication it is typically in the evening, I am often really busy or tired in the evening, and I have a lot more time and energy in the mornings. Anyway #1 is on-board. Funny thing about having had a tummy tuck years ago - I forgot my belly is numb where the injections go so easy-peasy!

Have a thick Thursday!

Hope it works great for you, Liz!

I was down 1.8 this morning. Day after the shot, I think you lose a lot of inflammation water weight. But still not back to my low of a few weeks ago. grr.

I was talking to my friend this morning who had dinner with another friend last night. I met this woman briefly at my friend's James bond party. Blonde, tall, thin. He said at one point she said she didn't want any more of the appetizer or she wouldn't want to eat her dinner. She said that she is on Ozempic and has been for 4 1/2 years, losing over 50 pounds and keeping it off. She takes it for maintenance now. She was used the last piece of bread sitting in the basket to describe what Ozempic does for her. She said now she looks at it and hardly gives it a thought, briefly thinking, "I don't want that". She said before it would've been all she could focus on, and she wouldn't have heard much of what my friend was saying. I thought that was a good way to describe the food noise that these drugs turn off. Also interesting to hear about someone who's been on maintenance for so long after being an early adopter.

Today I meet with the landscaper. I got the pots into the backyard all by myself! Two of them weighed over 80 pounds. I worked smarter not harder and used a towel to roll them up the small step and then stand them back up and put them back on the dolly. They look nice in the yard and they're still empty!

It was hot yesterday and will be 80 today. The sliders are already open. I'm not ready for that big of a swing considering it snowed not too many days ago.

The landscape committee which I'm on is also meeting today with my same landscaper who takes care of the community to talk about lighting at the front gate. And then we finish the day with a useless puppy class. I did get the name of two trainers from a neighbor. I need to call. I also need to look into rattlesnake avoidance class which I also got a recommendation for. All our dogs did it in California, and there's more chance of running into one in the yard here. Oh and I also need to pick up his flea/tick/heartworm meds.

I think that's it from me! Hope everyone has a super day!

I bet it will make a world of difference if you can get a good dog trainer.

Really good to know about longer term use of Ozempic.

And great ingenuity in moving the pots around!

CC, she gets things done! You're a creative problem solver!

Liz, it does make sense for you to take meds in the morning. I forget that true morning people exist, since DH is also a night owl. My Dad was a get up at 5am guy his whole life. I did not inherit this quality. During the summer, I set my alarm for 8am, otherwise I will shift to 2am- 10am sleep cycle. Getting up after 10am doesn't jive real well with most of the world. Maybe I should have been a bartender.

DH is watching Designated Survivor. I'm not sure what streaming service it's on. I watch some episodes with him, it's pretty good if someone is looking for a new drama. The designated survivor (Kiefer Sutherland) becomes the president when there is a bombing at the State of the Union address. He is staunchly independent, and gives voice to all the frustrations a lot of us are feeling right now about hyper partisanship.

School was fine today. Except for another colleague, The Chemical Dependency Counselor, stopped by to tell me she is leaving May 1. We have a group of staff that are our SOS team (Support Our Students) : school psych, chem counselor, social workers, school nurse. So far the psych, one of the social workers, and now the chem counselor are leaving. The other social worker is interviewing. Yikes! These people work with our students who have the highest needs, during all 4 years the kids are in high school. What a loss of longitudinal knowledge of these kids and their families.

It could be in the high 70s here this weekend!!! Delightful. Makes me so happy.

p.s. Designated Survivor is a great show. We are now watching a new season of "Loot". ds

Greetings all

Beautiful day here with blue sky and sun. I have already been to the studio and made a few small things as well as checking up on scuttlebutt. A small issue regarding payroll since Monday is April 15 and accountant will be having an unusual day. I finally have all my tax stuff but return is being extended. No sweat.

CC you are indeed creative on moving those large pots. Glad they are in place and ready for planting. Hope to see pictures. But don't invite that giant snake to be around. I assume your slider has a screen. I am not especially afraid of snakes but that one is huge! No thanks.

Hey Liz so you have a ready made numb spot for your shots. Cool. Great idea. Hope it all goes well.

Stopped at the hippie dippy grocery today for a few things. A bag of frozen peas is almost $5!! How do people feed a family these days (answer: they go to Winco and not hippie grocery).

Yesterday evening I was feeling particularly achey and cranky. Even DH asked what was wrong. I just felt like I had been over Niagra Falls in a barrel for no discernible reason. I took some advil which I rarely do. Today I feel quite good. Tells me that I do have some inflammation, probably arthritis. More reason to look into WL meds. I have a cookbook with an anti inflammation diet but it seems to be mostly a health food diet. No processed stuff.

DD so sorry your co workers are bailing. Not surprising from what you have said. Are they going to other schools or changing fields?. Years ago I remember my teacher friends all plotting career changes. One went into sales for a textbook company and eventually to sales of mobile phones early in the industry. Another was looking into court reporting. Most did not spend an entire career in teaching. Not good for our society. But summer is coming!

Just got the sweetest thank you note from our nephew and his wife. They are going through the in vitro process. I gave them some $$ as it's a financial strain. Can't think of two people who would be better parents.

Beef pot pie tonight courtesy of hippie grocery.

What an amazing use for your money. Imagine if a new being comes into the world because of your generosity!!!

How wonderful that you are helping your nephew and his wife build a family. When infertility is an issue it can be so expensive and difficult to become parents.
