Westminster really is coming soon! Can't wait to watch Blitz compete.

The beach was incredibly pleasant yesterday. This week the weather has been really perfect. Bright blue skies, warm but not hot, a breeze, and low humidity. It's the kind of weather that people come here for. After the beach we went out for dinner at our favorite place overlooking the ocean. Really a good day.

Today includes laundry (DH doing with me advising), doing the Justice bath that didn't happen yesterday, and a late afternoon get-together with the neighbors. In between is the exhausting showering and dressing. I don't think that aspect is going to improve much for at least a couple of months until I am able to use my right arm more. One clothing decision I made, the tube-top bras, has been a lifesaver this week. No strain on my shoulder and they are actually quite comfortable and supportive. I expect I will continue using them even after this "ordeal".

Hopefully there will be something decent to serve as dinner this afternoon. Otherwise it will be leftovers.

Have a supportive Sunday!

I need to be in Florida! The weather here is abysmal. Rainy and cold. It was warm earlier in the week. We can't seem to be in the right state on the right weather day. :)

Liz, would you be willing to share what brand of tube bra you purchased? You peaked my interest with the word: supportive.

We watched 2 episodes of Palm Royale and enjoyed them. Thanks for the recommendation everyone! We also watched the one free episode of A Gentleman in Moscow. If we want to watch the rest, we're going to have to subscribe to Showtime. Since only 2 episodes are out, we're going to wait a bit. I thought the episode we did see was wonderful. I loved the book, and the series seems to capture the feel of the novel very well.

Despite not eating much, I am up 2 pounds. Probably the daily ****tail and flying have me retaining water. That's usually the case. I'm not too concerned. DH is at the grocery store buying sensible food so we can get back to eating food that nourishes.

Besides putzing around, I will do some laundry, finish unpacking and try not to think about work. DH's birthday is on Tuesday. I know what gift I want to give him, but he doesn't want me to buy it until we hear more about striking. I think Nashville was our last hurrah for a bit, until we can see how things are going to shake out. We're doing open enrollment for benefits next week. Usually we do that in May, so maybe the district is getting their ducks in a row.

Enjoy the last bit of the weekend. Hoping your Sunday isn't as sloppy as it is here in Minnesota.

Having to contemplate being on strike stinks. Do they really think that the teachers are going to just give in for peanuts! You guys have fallen way behind the cost of living!

So this tube top doesn't get them up where they should be without straps, but they feel held in place and it doesn't slip:

The interior designer's assistant is coming by to measure something again. He's coming up for hiking with his partner and dog so two birds with one stone. I am going to attempt to kill a third bird and have them help me get the new pots off the pallets and unnested. Two strong young men beats one middle-aged, arthritic-handed woman with pathetic upper arm strength!

Having someone coming over got me to tidy a bit too. Not a bad thing.

Nice to see my friend yesterday and a pretty day with the snow and sunshine up there. We went out to lunch at an Italian/pizza restaurant. I ordered Italian Wedding soup. It was sold as a hearty sounding soup with meatballs, pasta, vegetables, and a delicious broth. $9 and listed as 680 calories. I actually laughed. It was basically served in a deep plate, which not only made it slosh out onto the table when it was gently pushed over in front of me, but also made it impossible to eat as I was spooning liquid off a plate! And the spoon was a flat tablespoon as well, so minimal soup got to my mouth. You couldn't tilt the plate to help without it spilling. There was one 2" meatball and 3 about the size of my thumbnail. One small carrot slice and about 3 level tablespoons of couscousy pasta balls. The broth was unseasoned like it came straight out of a box. That was 200 if that. It's a good thing I'm on the shots or I would have had to order something else!

Scale was down half a pound. Still .6 above my last low. Grr.

I still have my long list of undone chores. Maybe I'll try to knock a few off. Or maybe not!

Take care all

Somehow I don't think that soup was anywhere close to 680 calories. I bet it was scooped from the top of the pot not the bottom.

Shot or not, I would have been pissed about that soup!

UGH... could not lie down last night. It was like early out VSG days. So, at 1 am I got up and went to sit in my chair. I had to sleep sitting up because the pressure on my esophageal sphincter was too intense. Do any of you remember that from early out. YUCK!!!! I'm going to have to be careful I guess about not just eating too late, but also drinking water to close to bed time. Anyhow, I woke up around 6 am with an awful crick in my neck, got up and went to bed. I can't believe I slept as late as I did - embarrassed to say until 11 am! I must have needed it, but that extra sleep is putting me well behind today! Best laid plans....

Well, I found out yesterday that 120 grams of protein is not an easy feat. VSG plus semaglutide makes it very, very hard to manage 120 grams of real protein per day. I did get close to 100, but I did use a Fairlife shake to manage the 90 plus grams I got.

I'm starting to get a bit uptight about Westminster. Not nervous, but worried that Blitz won't have enough coat. I pulled him down so he would have a brand new fresh coat for the show, but he's not making great progress growing it back. Fingers are diligently crossed at this point. We fly to NYC in exactly 5 weeks. Hair please GROW! LOL!

Weight continues to go down a few tenths of a pound each day lately. I like it!

Liz, I recommend you be prepared for anything. I do hope though that your reaction is pretty instant, just like mine was. You may find some foods just don't taste good any longer. Sometimes texture is an issue for me, too. While I still LOVE and ENJOY good, tasty food, some foods have become unpalatable - mostly fatty proteins. For some reason, lean proteins are fine, but if the protein has too high a fat content it "feels" icky in my mouth and tastes "off". Overcooked vegetables are also a no go - too mushy. I think I mentioned before fruit and protein are my go to's since semaglutide has been on board. Admittedly, carbs still go down with ease and can still be triggering, so I do have to be aware. The biggest issue for me is my eating disorder thinking that creeps in. On days I eat less food altogether because my appetite is so low, my eating disorder knocks on the door to let me know that I'm in a major calorie deficit for the day and it would be certainly okay for me to splurge on empty calories, because, of course, it's not good to be in such a major calorie deficit. The reverse is true, too. Some days Mr. Eating Disorder says, OMG... you have NO HUNGER, just don't eat today. You can do that and think how FAST the weight will come off, if you just DON'T EAT ANYTHING today!!! That's the kind of thinking that is so important for me to acknowledge and deal with. Both thought patterns have caused me much grief in the past and made weight loss close to impossible.

Weather here is lovely! Blue skies, puffy white clouds floating by, but still a *****illy for my taste. It is supposed to warm up all the way to the upper 70s, even hitting 80 degrees by Friday! Whew hoo!!!!! I am ready for the warm weather.

Super Sunday to everyone!

We will all cross our fingers and toes that Blitz gets some good hair growth over the next few weeks.

Thanks for the advice! I hope it works for me and that I don't get too many side-effects.

I am taking 2 doses of Omeprizole, one in the morning and one in the evening. I think it has helped a lot with that pressure feeling. I also will chew gum if I'm having acid or a refluxy feeling. I'm guessing the salvia helps move things along and reduce pressure. Pre VSG, not interested in gum. Now I always have some for possible stomach upset. It's saved me many times over the years.

Greetings all

It's a sunny blue bird day. Hope it stays this way for awhile. No eclipse plans here other than to turn on the tv. We may get 25%. People I know have gone to Texas to watch. No thanks.

Liz sounds like you are having perfect weather. Just what the doctor ordered. Enjoy.

DH is doing his laundry. He waits until he does not have one thing left and then it's all day laundry. Oh well.

Peps I sure hope Blitz's coat comes in. Timing the terrier coat can be difficult to plan as you well know. Sorry your gut was acting up. Maybe 120 g protein is not doable. Better to get less and not feel sick.

Breakfast today was a big slice of ham. Finally dealing with the big giant ham. All cut up and in the freezer now. A slice with a little mayo makes a good meal. Then I did some work at the studio. Quite a bit of stuff got made which I need for the gallery.

DD sorry you have cold. I am sure those extra two pounds will drop off quickly.

CC good idea to get those guys to move the pots. And that soup sounds like a total bust. I guess it's a European thing to have those shallow soup bowls but it just means you scrape the dish. I would have been tempted to eat a lot of crackers.

DH has a doctor apt early tomorrow. Fortunately I have nothing to do early which is a good thing because I don't do early. Kiln opens and life is good.
