Interesting comments yesterday about how restaurant meals are approached now vs before VSG. I too look for a small appetizer or share with DH if I don't want leftovers, otherwise I leave with a takeout box. Such a departure from pre-VSG days. I was thinking last night that over the last few years I have completely stopped any vestige of binging. I still did it sometimes in the first few years after VSG but since I couldn't take in too much it trailed off and I can't remember the last time I did that. Yeah for VSG!
But there is that pesky extra 20-30 pounds that came from some extra snacking and too many restaurant meals. I passed my telehealth review for Tirzepatide yesterday and should get my first 2 months supply in 7-10 business days. At one point the woman asked if I worked in the medical field since I seemed fairly knowledgeable about the drug and I told her about our support group and how we have been sharing articles and experiences. She commented that she thought support groups like ours helped people be so much more successful. She was impressed that we didn't have to really talk about the injection aspect much because I told her about Pep's video. She emphasized the need for high protein intake especially since my physical capabilities are restricted right now with the shoulder healing. Fairlife protein here I come.
We may try the beach club again today as we are having absolutely perfect Florida weather right now. We didn't stay long yesterday as I forgot my book and was bored.
The other necessary effort today is a Justice bath as he is a bit doggy smelling. DH will have to do it obviously but it isn't a big deal as Justice behaves well in the sink. The most important thing is to have a good sized fluffy towel right there to wrap him up in quickly before he starts to shake.
Have a supportive Saturday!

A tiny bit of rain and snow came through last night. Enough to make the puppy grass white, and everything else wet. The sun is shining though with big puffy clouds so neither should last long.
My friend whose painting I picked up was driving with her boyfriend to Dallas to see the eclipse, but they scrapped the trip in Flagstaff because of the storm forecast (I love grammar and spelling, but I greatly struggle with whose and who's - I would have thought who's in this situation?). Anyway, they went to the Grand Canyon and the meteor crater instead and are going back home today. I offered to meet them in Flagstaff to bring her painting to her. I don't want to be responsible for a $4000 painting with a spring-loaded puppy in the house. So I need to leave in a little bit. Cold and snowy up there, so I need to dress appropriately.
I called the interior designer yesterday to inquire about all my furniture. They will bring it the week of May 12th. I needed to have a date to aim for because I'm very tired of like I'm living with garage sale hodgepodge furniture. It's dragged on long enough!
My weight was down a little bit this morning, still above the low from last week, but I don't know that that's fair given I was probably dehydrated.
Anyway, I should scoot! Take care of everyone!
Good morning!
We are in the white puffy cloud stage of the storm. It's really lovely weather today. Still too cool for my taste, but at least it's sunny.
CC, try to remember whose is the possessive form of who. Who's is the contraction. The one that always tricks me is its and it's. It rarely fails that I type its as it's and have to go back and remove the apostrophe. My favorite grammar explanation is the difference between transitive and intransitive verbs! LOL!
I am loathe to use flea treatment on my dogs, but it has come to a head this spring. I HAVE to. I will use the topical stuff that's been around for years (Advantage II) and hope it works well enough. Too risky with my pack to use the edibles.
I am back down to my Thursday weight, so I feel I can say I'm down a solid 20. The NUT is very pleased by my rate of loss. She thinks it's right in the "sweet spot". Not too fast and not too slow. Right now I'm averaging about 2 pounds per week after the initial first two weeks of rapid weight loss.
Getting a haircut today. I should finish cleaning my office space, too (yes, I'm doing it in manageable stages...). I started to make a list yesterday. I got distracted by the list while creating it and did the things as I wrote them down. What good does that do me???? LOL!!!! However, I did get a few important things accomplished. Booking Blitz's flight for Westminster took 40 minutes on the phone. His crate couldn't go on the flights I had booked because other dogs were already booked on the flights I had booked. The wonderful agent took her time and found us alternate flights that were still non stop from San Francisco to JKF. Had to pay a little extra, but c'est la vie! I'm not loving the return flight time (leaves NYC at 8:30 pm) because I won't get home until about 2 am west coast time.
Liz, so glad you are getting the tirzepatide soon! I hope you will love it and you have no/minimal side effects. I do think our group is a great source of information and support! Nice that your provider acknowledged that!
Safe travels back to Minnesota, DD. Glad you had such a nice time in Nashville.
Greetings all
Not much sun here today and a few sprinkles. I am cold. Dogs need to stay in for awhile.
Spent some time at the studio today and made a number of things. Studio buddy showed up and actually did some art instead of just yacking. A pleasant afternoon plus we have a window on the world to see and hear all the weird people that come there.
Liz I hope it was a good beach day. Sounds like you need a towel shawl to cover the surgery spot. Envy the warmth. All the best on the new med.
CC I would also be nervous with $4k painting. Kind of you to make the delivery. Bet it's a beautiful drive.
Wow Peps making plane reservations for Blitz. That makes it so real. Remind us all when that show occurs so we can watch and hopefully see Blitz in the group ring. Terriers are the best.
But Peps, 120 grams of protein!!!! Isn't that a whole chicken or nearly? I guess thats what my friend who eats no plants must do.
I am noticing the spring bedding plants that are out. Maybe tomorrow I can drag DH to the store to get some dirt. And plants. I have never had sweet peas as nice as the first year and want them again.
Turkey roll ups from the deli. Reasonably healthy.
We have been watching Palm Royale which is pretty funny. Also a few episodes of Elsbeth, another quirky murder detective.
DD hope you get home safe sated.

I feel dull wanting to talk so much about the weather, but geez, the weather. So strange this year. Glad to hear it is back to normal in Florida. And now the Eclipse. It will be 85% totality here, so if its not overcast I will try to go outside. I'm working (boo!) but no students, so I can step outside.
So, clearly made it home. Just started Palm Royale, so more later :)
