Greetings all

Happy Easter! It's a sunny beautiful day here with a nice breeze. Slider is open and the dogs are in and out. I am sipping a Fairlife shake. We are going to dinner at the Casino in an hour but I felt too hungry to wait until then to eat. Usually I just wait. They have usual easter stuff on the menu but some appetizer options that will work for me and DH.

Nephew went home yesterday. He and his wife are trying to have a child and are doing that in vitro thing. No luck so far. It's apparently very expensive so just before he left I gave him a big check to help. He was so happy! I don't know all the details of the issues but they are in counseling over it. So hate to see them experience unhappiness.

Yay Liz for prime rib! Thats the best! That was my only food funeral. Sounds great. Enjoy. One handed dinners! Sounds like soup to me.

DD safe travels. Enjoy the trip. Eat some BBQ or whatever they have there.

I still have to figure out what to do with this giant ham. Can't feed it to dogs. Maybe ham and beans.

CC good on you for telling how you feel about Kirby. I think I told you I almost sent Tesla back as she was so obnoxious. She still does not play well with other dogs. Sounds like that dog meet -up is a good idea. He needs a way to disperse energy and right now all he has is you. Years ago my friend had a fairly alpha male golden. Luckily they had a pool and he, "Hammer", spent most of his summer time there. When the weather is right Kirby might do that too though then you have wet dog issues. Hang in there. Many years ago I had a "pill" puppy - a cairn terrier aka terror. She was pretty awful but grew up to be a decent dog. As a puppy I used to give her huge raw beef knuckle bones to chew on instead of chewing on me. Not sure if that was the best idea but it kept her busy.

Thinking about protein. Years ago I had some health wise protein tomato soup. While it wasn't great, it was better than the sweet shakes. I might get some again. Anybody try any of those protein soups?

Gotta pamper DH tonight and let him watch whatever sci fi he wants since he has the 5 hour heart test tomorrow. Or he will want to watch the 10 Commandments for the zillionth time. OK by me .

The prime rib was amazing tonight.

Sorry your Nephew and his wife are going through infertility. Such a strain - all of it, then you throw the hormones, disappointments and money strain in and it is even worse. Late DH and I were lucky that we only spent a year in that hell (including 2 surgeries), but then we decided to adopt. Also not inexpensive but in the long run a drop in the bucket. We had 2 amazing children come to us 37 and 33 years ago who were the children meant to be in our family.

Sounds like we've all had puppies that brought us to our knees at one point. Our Jesse was nicknamed baby shark for awhile. I used to spray bitter apple spray on my kids shoes when they wanted to swing, otherwise she would chase their feet. She didn't like the bitter apple spray, but if she did continue to harass them, back in the kennel. There came a day they could play with her in the backyard, or she would sit peacefully on the deck with me.

Liz, we love the hotel. Very charming, and perfect location. Whatever their signature fragrance is, it's very pleasing. Subtle, but definitely exists.

So glad you like it. We thought the same. Convenient yet a bit of a respite from the craziness.
