Yesterday it rained all day so Justice barely went out. He was dancing around in bed last night apparently and insisted on going out at 12:30 am LOL.

It has been more than 24 hours since I took the opiate pain reliever. The milder stuff has been sufficient thankfully (I do have a portable nerve block for another day or so). As a result my constipation is relieved thank goodness. Weirdly though I am not bloated I am still not starved and am slightly nauseous so am eating small amounts still. I have been eating a lot of cottage cheese with rice crackers, so protein with something dry. A strategy learned after VSG. Good that I don't have to worry about gaining weight yet!

So improving but slowly. Can't wait to shower fully after the nerve block is done.

Have a simple Sunday!

A nerve block sounds like a very helpful intervention. When do you have your first post surgical visit?

We had a great time at our friend's birthday party. The best part, DHs BFFs grandchild was present. So we've been close friends for 30 years, and the baby's Daddy has been like a nephew to us since he was 5. As DH said, he feels like our baby too. It was our first time meeting him :)

Now that the snow event is on us, the weather forecast has become even more wishy washy. I have no idea if there will be 1 inch, 6 inches or 12 inches, and neither it seems, do the weather forecasters. Its not snowing yet, so off to brunch I go.

They got a good bit in MI, but the ground was so warm, it melted really fast. Maybe it'll be the same?

Sounds like a good time. Seems like if it is going to snow it would be best if there was enough to have the day off tomorrow.

I see the surgeon on 4/1, then fly back south on 4/3.

20 pounds down this morning! 40 to go. But even just another 20 will put me in a great place I would be happy with.

Blustery day in the 40s with on and off rain. Brr. Tomorrow the roofers come to try to find the latest leak. Argh. I looked up there and can't see anything. I hope they can. I was asking about drywall repair people on NextDoor and someone said to leave the drywall intact if I can, that opening it can open a can of worms of mold. Eek.

I did cancel my account with Join Fridays. I think I'm going to stick with the name brand for now. I may regret that as the next two doses up are in shortage, but the needle thing is easier with Zepbound's pen and I know what I'm getting.

Tidying today is all that's on agenda. I hope you all have a great day!

Greetings all

There is bright sunlight now after pouring rain earlier. Nothing more beautiful than sun on damp leaves. I am grateful for the lovely birch trees in the back yard that were planted by the former owners of this house.

Liz congrats on graduating from the pain meds and the related benefits. Cottage cheese and crackers sounds like a plan. You are going to drop a few pounds after this surgery. Wishing you a great shower. Going without is no fun. Go to a hair salon and get your hair washed and styled if you can.

DD what a great party! So glad you have those family members to enjoy. Nothing better. Hoping for similar fun when our nephew arrives. My plan is to have a pot roast cooking when he arrives in the afternoon. After that it's leftovers and restaurant.

DH is back to his usual self. He is fiddling with electronics. The apple air tags in our luggage were indicating the batteries were low so of course he leaps into action to fix them. Finding mine became quite a project. I had put it inside an old sock in the luggage. Crawling around on the floor is no longer in my wheelhouse. I need furniture. We have no travel plans but when batteries demand replacement, they must be served.

Studio visit planned for today. Preparing for ear bleed. Studio buddy has kind of toxic family members so I listen to the griping. About all I can do. Also a few more loads of couch blankets.

CC you are probably right about jumping on the wegovy. We are so rural that who knows what we can get or if I even qualify. Probably I will just self pay but nice to see the acceptance of the meds.

We still have shrimp from costco. Last night I had a few shrimp with pasta and olive oil. Heavenly. I feel evil eating pasta but it's not a lot.

Cheers. Diane S

I love birch trees with the sun pouring through them. When I was a child our yard was full of birch trees but there are very few left in the Northeast these days.

Zepbound update: A couple of times I've been eating and thought if I keep chewing this or swallow it, I will throw up. Once on chicken, now on shrimp. Nothing to do but spit it out and stop eating. This stuff strengthens your gag reflex!

Weather update: Thundersnow! Thunder, lightning, and snow. Half an inch of rain today, then hail, then snow. And in the 30s. It's almost April!
