Rainy day today which mostly affects DH and Justice. They only had a quick walk this morning. You may recall that I have mentioned Justice's refusal to go out if it is raining heavily.
I am getting tired of sitting in the recliner but glad I have it. I don't seem to do well with the cold therapy so far - I feel like the weight on my shoulder is causing some pain. So last night I took the heavy stuff twice because I was hurting and needed sleep. It had worn off by 4 but my pain level seems much more manageable today. I'd just as soon stop taking it now because I really need to get rid of the constipation.
Assuming I continue improving I am going to encourage DH to go visit friends/his family this week. If I am bored imagine how he feels??
Have a sweet Saturday!

A cloudy morning with cold and rain coming tomorrow.
The scale was down a tiny bit today. Still just shy of the 20 pound mark. The meds seem a little less effective this week with less side effects (the nighttime gerd) and full feelings. Could be the compound difference, could be I'm used to this dose as it was my 3rd, that time of the month, or something I haven't considered. I might have felt the same way on the name-brand, who knows.
Kirby is "gooder" with every day that passes. I may be getting past the dark "I made a mistake, I really don't like this dog" stage.
I think that's it for today. No plans!
Constipation from good pain meds really is a frustrating side effect. But it's short term, you're still just a few days past surgery. Like Peps, I'm a big proponent of pain killers. I've never had any interest in them beyond their intended use. At our house, we like to say, better living through chemistry. If Mike goes visiting, will your DS be available if you need something?
CC not having to get up in the middle of every night to deal with poop must make everything better. The work (and it is a lot of work!) raising Kirby will pay off in all the years to come when you will enjoy his company.
I've found with the Wegovy, rather inexplicable differences day to day, week to week. Sometimes real hunger breaks through, sometimes I can eat a small portion, sometimes I can only eat a bite. It's a real puzzle.
Slept very well last night, which is such a good feeling. We went to our coffee shop, and then to workout. I was reflecting on how I was feeling last March, and I am very pleased to say, despite the relentless pressure at work, I am better off physically. No doubt a combination of weight loss and exercise. I've added almost 30 pounds to what I can move on the leg press. (Still an old lady amount, but the progress makes me happy). I can set the resistance much higher on the recumbent bike when I'm peddling. Level 5 was quite challenging last month, now I can go a long time at 9. It's comforting to know that, with some modest effort, we can have a positive impact on aging.
On our way to a birthday party for a dear friend. She is 87, and so vigorous, both mentally and physically. In her 70s and early 80s she worked as a tax preparer. (She actually has a masters in Economics from the London School of Economics, so not your average H&R Block staff). When she was 82, I asked her when she was going to fully retire and she said, whenever new tax code came out, she couldn't resist the challenge. Love it! May we all have the same vitality as the years go by.
Greetings all
It's raining here and I slept really late. Not a crime. So today I am working on various steps in Project Jordan. Just got the guest room dusted. DH has removed the offending junk to other only slightly offensive places. But nephew is my secret weapon. He is young and fit and willing to move stuff to the garage. I won't abuse his willingness. He is a very kind, delightful and always upbeat person who is fun to have around. Must make this fun for him. He loves movies so we will likely do some streaming. He wants us to watch the new Ghostbusters. Not too exciting for me but I will do it.
We started a new series "3 Body Project". It's an extremely weird sci fi but since DH had just had a tooth pulled I said ok. It's actually not too bad. More mind trippy than explosions.
Liz you are probably in the tough days. Peps is right - take the drugs. There is no medal for not taking what you need. You and your DH might want to pick movies to stream since you are confined to recliner. Sending Mike out is probably a good idea. Hey the old bag of frozen peas might be better than the ice gadget. Or a frozen wash rag.
CC so Kirby is maturing! Yay! I have to say I seriously thought about sending Tesla back when she was a pup. So obnoxious. But she is a good dog now. Kirby will be too. Plus you can buy him his own vacuum cleaner!. What would he do with a Roomba?
DD you made it to Saturday! Yay for coffee out. Congrats on increasing your leg press lifts. Many years ago I got so I could do 180 pounds! But be careful. A friend of mine said she got hemorrhoids from too much leg pressing. Go figure. These days changing bed linens is an aerobic activity.
Hey did ya'll hear that wegovy is now covered by medicare provided there is some additional issue like cardiac risk. A good thing. Not sure I would qualify though I do take a taccicardia drug. Hmmmm.
So I made some pasta last night for DH to eat as he is supposed to eat stuff that is soft and cold. He seems to be doing well and went to the health food store today for GY. He wanted to know if he could eat ground up almonds. I told him to buy some almond butter.
Our friend who is still in the hospital usually hosts Easter dinner. Not this year. So she has instructed our group to go have Easter dinner at a restaurant and that her DH must come too. So it's all set. The sunset restaurant is at a casino but its view is spectacular if it's not cloudy. Should be fun. I am going to try to take friend a small easter basket in the super crowded hospital room. Very small. She still needs dialysis.
Peps hope you win in Corning. And hope it's not raining there.
Not much else. I am dallying here and avoiding house work.

If you're interested in Wegovy through Medicare, I'd talk to your doctors sooner rather than later. I see a lot of people on a Zepbound page that started it because they had waited 6 months to a year for Wegovy and couldn't get it because of shortages. I can't imagine Medicare covering it will make it any easier to find!
