Tummy seems back to normal. Whew..... Now we'll see what happens after I up the dose on Thursday. Hmmmmm.....
As anticipated I was up a pound today. Makes perfect sense to me. I'm sure I became dehydrated with so many trips to the bathroom, even though I tried to stay hydrated. I realized, I'm still down 16 pounds. I miscalculated yesterday.
DD, sorry you had a hard day at school. We had an electrical fire today in the school office! We had a REAL fire drill.... LOL.... We had to evacuate all the buildings on site. Fire trucks came. We got the all clear in about 15 minutes. Fun times! The kids did really well. Have to admit, for the real deal they were super calm.
Liz, best wishes for tomorrow. You are definitely doing the right thing. It won't get better on it's own.... Only worse. It would be awful if you had to live like you did last summer for months on end while waiting for a surgery at a later date. Looking forward to hearing from you once on the other side of the surgery.
I watched Oprah. While I did not learn much, I did identify strongly with Amy, the first guest. Her story was much like mine, less the supportive parents. Mine did the fat shaming. My friends and schoolmates did not. I felt the show was "dumbed down" for people who know very little about obesity. Ron found the show really very good. While he is very supportive of me and my efforts, he doesn't keep up on all things Obesity as I try to do. I agree with everyone who spoke about the two main benefits of the meds: the quieting of "food noise" and the much higher level of satiety. Those are game changers.
Not much else to report today..... Tomorrow is already weighing on me.... Way too much to do - dental procedure for Lucky, teach all day, pick up Lucky and run back downtown to do an outdoor concert with kids from all over the district for a fundraising event. It should all be over by 6 pm, but Yikes! what a filled day it will be!
Proof that although drills never seem to be "the right time", they are essential. Now your students did much better than my DD and her adult colleagues. The fire alarms went off at the VA where she's interning and they all kept working. Someone had to come and tell them in person, that yes, it was a real alarm, and the building was on fire!!! Everyone is fine, and the fire extinguished.
Greetings All
A busy day by my standards. Scrabble first and I won all three games including beating The Shark. Best word was "chatterers". Had a few other 7 letter words. Fun morning. Then I stopped at the hospital to see my friend. She is pretty sick but her husband says she is better than yesterday. She wants to leave but there is no way. I took some flowers and I think she was glad to have a visitor. Lordy that hospital is noisy and chaotic and the room is far too small for two patients. Pretty much have to rearrange the furniture for anyone to come in or out. Parking at that place is impossible and I parked way in the back. I conned a staff member into letting me come in a staff entrance by looking pathetic walking up the stairs. I was grateful because it's a long walk around that building to the front.
CC the planter glaze looks great. Those will be so nice. See my other post about pool noodles as filler. Ornamental grasses are my favorite plants! Look at the website for High Country Gardening as they specialize in low water plants. I don't know if they still have the same catalog but it's like a textbook of plants. How fun to be doing all the planting. I probably don't need to tell you to not get anything with thorns for Kirby's sake. Congrats on smaller pants. And thanks for mentioning the Oprah show. I saw a report about it so we will watch.
Wishing you the best Liz. It will be great to get that done. Do they send you home right away?
DD Nashville sounds fun. Just heard about a book "Girls Like Us" by Sheila Weller 2009. It's about Carole King, Joni Mitchell and Carly Simon and being women in the world of music at the time. Sounded interesting.
So I think I will take a little nap before I go to the gallery member meeting. Officer elections and this one matters. Hopefully won't have to listen to long boring arguments.
Cheers. Diane S
