Quick post (I thought someone would have beat me to it). Lots to do today to get prepared.

I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 am tomorrow- surgery at 7:30. Can't believe the time has come.

We are picking up DH's jeep shortly as it should be easier for me to get in and out of than my convertible. We meet DH's sisters for dinner, then overnight next to the hospital. I will probably sleep about like last night (hardly).

Have a terrific Tuesday!

I typed this out and forgot to hit submit! Liz you must be getting last minute things done before your surgery. I know we all wish you the best and a speedy recovery!

While the scale bounced up a bit today, I am in smaller pants. Yay!

I went to Costco yesterday and bought all good stuff. Even my "I'm hungry" impulse buys were all healthy things. And it was nice to be away from Kirby for several hours. I think that was longest I've ever left him (4 hours). No wonder I'm tired of him!

He had more poop issues last night. I just don't understand.

Today I have a hair appointment and that's it.

Spending spree yesterday, I splurged and ordered 8 very large glazed ceramic planter pots for my yard. The previous owners had many and they looked nice, softening the yard, but took them with them. These are all a really pretty, deep jewel toned blue/green in different patterns and sizes, but all the same glaze. I think they'll look pretty with the red rock colors of the house and mountains. They'll be shipped here by freight in a few weeks. I looked for pots around here and just wasn't wowed. These wowed me. And a good reminder to always check for website coupons before pressing "submit order." I wasn't expecting any to be out there and saved 24%! Here's a picture the glaze/one of the patterns:

Looking forward to my shot tomorrow, I turn back into my pumpkin-self on days 6 and 7 and it gets harder to say no...

Did anyone watch the Oprah special last night on the drugs? It's on Hulu now. I just started. Interesting.

Hope you all have a super day!

I think the pots will look beautiful!

I will look for the Oprah special to watch while I am vegetating the next couple of weeks.

I watched the Oprah thing. Is it me or has she lost her touch? I understand why some people thought it felt like an ad for Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly!

So many good thoughts headed your way Liz! If you're not able to update us due to pain meds etc, would your DH consider texting one of us?

CC those pots look gorgeous! What will you plant in them. And rats to Kirby's stomach woes. Sorry the food switch wasn't a long term answer.

Today was very, very trying. But I am home, and I will put it behind me. I should have some time to read, which always makes me happy. Nashville in less than 2 weeks. We are flying out Easter Sunday, as that was the best priced ticket. With both kids out of state, there's no need for us to stick around, but the former church girl in me feels a little weird treating Easter Sunday like any other Sunday. Some wine and Chucuterie at the airport will help me move past any guilt :)

The first time I went away on Thanksgiving I felt guilty not having a family dinner even though most of the family was busy!

I will ask DH to txt you if I can't type. Thanks for the good thoughts.

I think a mix of succulents, grasses and annual flowers? The tallest one is going to be my receptacle for the rain chain coming down from the roof. They took that pot with them too, so the rusty chain is sitting on the patio staining it currently. I think rocks on the top with the chain running through the middle, but I'll need some sort of filler underneath the rocks so it's not so heavy.

Sounds really pretty.

CC get some pool noodles and cut them up and put them in the planter as filler. DH got a bunch for that purpose. Of course, they have yet to go in our raised beds but oh well. ds

Great idea! If I lived closer, I'd buy your pool noodles and hlp you get one more thing out of the garage!
