It's been a nice visit with the SILs. They leave around noon time to drive to Siesta Key for a month. What a great place to stay!

I think I am falling apart. My recently sore knees took a turn yesterday. My left one was significantly more painful all day yesterday and when I was walking into the clubhouse for Happy Hour I felt a snap and then extreme pain when trying to walk normally. I barely made it to a chair but it didn't hurt that much sitting. When I got up to leave I wasn't sure I could walk at all but figured out that if I walked with my knee bent I could hobble around. So that's the state it is in this morning. It is also fairly swollen. So I guess I have to ice it until Monday as there are no nearby orthopedic urgent care places close by and no way am I going to sit at an ER. What a pain (literally)!

So I won't be very functional this weekend. We have more company coming tomorrow but DH will probably have to do the between guest cleaning required. I so hate being incapacitated.

No Justice walk this morning (DH has sciatica laying him up a bit too). But DH said he talked to him and Justice understood, LOL.

Have a safe Saturday!

Oh no, that does not sound good at all! I'm sure Monday feels a long way off.

Oh that's the pits, Liz! Basically sums up nearly all of my post-50 injuries: I took a normal step and then BLAMMO. Hobbled.

I got a new fancy scale that does body fat/muscle etc. because it was a deal on Amazon and synchs with my measuring tape, but I may send it back. Their BMI calculation is wrong. It's off by 0.3 points, which doesn't seem like much, but it makes me obese again. And when it's supposed to be motivating, an error like that is NOT. They say they use the CDC BMI calculator, but my BMI is overweight when I go to their site and do the same. It also weighs me 0.8 pounds more than my last scale. That is annoying, but part of the price of switching scales.

My camera bird feeder came today. It's charging. I hope to get it set up today.

My neighborhood landscape committee neighbor and I are walking the neighborhood this afternoon with the landscaper.

Kirby has added new counters he can get things off of. Good times. He's also figured out toilet paper is loads of fun.

I think that's all for me today... have a good one!

We are still in the toilet paper sitting on top of the toilet tank phase of puppyhood here, too!

He found it there too! I've entered door always closed mode.

Kirby is such a mischievous puppy!

Can't wait to see bird-feeder pictures! Maybe I will get one for Cape Cod.

Oh, Liz, I am so sorry! Sadly, it sounds like a classic ACL injury. Fingers crossed it's not severe and will heal on its own.

Weight up .5 pounds today. Totally okay with that. So far so good with side effects this morning.

I'm to drive an hour plus today to evaluate puppies. Not really feeling the drive! The weather has been so hit and miss the last two days. Absolutely pouring, driving rain and extremely high and gusty winds one moment and 30 minutes later it's calm. Then it starts all over again! Today is supposed to be less stormy. We'll see. Was nice and sunny when I got up and now it is dark and ominous.

I teach a seminar tomorrow, so I have some prep for that. And I do want to finish up my grades. I have 8 more classes to do. The weather makes it easier for me to stay inside and get this clerical stuff done. So there is an upside to the stormy weather.

Not much else. Blitz is perched on the ottoman looking at me typing. I think he wants some love, so off I go....

Satisfying Saturdays to one and all.

I was thinking it might be the meniscus. I guess we shall see when I get to a doctor.

Have a safe drive!

Oh puppies and toilet paper! I remember that. And also my human puppy, DS, making a huge mess with toilet paper once. He threw it in the sink, turned on the water and left. Sink overflowed, carrying bits of now dissolving paper everywhere. It was such a mess, I had to laugh when I discovered it.

Speaking of the bathroom, I decided to clean it top to bottom today, using a swiffer mop and old towels I cut up. I cut them about the size of a swiffer mop pad, and attached them the same way, just push the fabric into the little grabby things they have. Life changing, from the comfort of the floor, I was able to mop down all the walls, ceiling to floor. I could run it along the top of door frames. I could easily reach the floor boards behind the toilet. Why have I been doing these things with a step stool and rags? I feel like I want to wash every wall in the house. Sadly, it will probably pass, because, in the end, I'm not a very enthusiastic house keeper. But at least one bathroom looks great today :)

Not much else going on. I'm going to start laundry, and then get ready for my grown up sleepover. We're going to a restaurant in St. Paul that is a community institution for dinner and a jazz show. The back to our friends' house for night caps and frivolity.
