I am technically pre-diabetic now, but my doctor told me Ozempic wouldn't be covered unless I had full-blown type 2 diabetes. Maybe it is a Medicare Part D restriction?
I also see maintaining as a huge win. Before WLS I was either losing or gaining. Sometimes I could get downright skinny, but I always had the dreaded regain, plus more. And then i got really fat, and nothing worked. I am 110 pounds less than I was 12 years ago. Some kind of miracle. Wegovy is helping me get even lower, but for me, it has nothing like the power of a well constructed sleeve. I will never stop being grateful for this intervention.
I am curious to see how low I might get (slowly, oh so slowly) with Wegovy. Frankly, I don't imagine I will be able to stay at a much lower weight if I can even get there. I think my body has a weight it was happy with before Tomaxifen, and that is where I will eventually end up again. Currently I am about 5 pounds below that weight. So we'll see. I'll be okay with either.
I have my lesson plans written, and all my paperwork that will be coming due while I'm gone completed. Everything packed but toiletries, which I will do in a little bit. The weather looks good for Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Increasingly warmer every day (from low 70s to 80). It is forecast to cloud over on Wednesday, which is when we have to leave. It will go fast. But then spring break will only be a month away.
Our negotiators were working until 4:15 am this morning, trying to get a settlement deal. They say they have a tentative agreement, which they will share with us next week. They said it wasn't what they hoped before. Discouraging. Then we vote on it. I've heard a lot of rumblings already that if it isn't 3% or better, we should vote it down. It's an option, as is striking. I never thought we'd get everything we were asking for, that's not how negotiations work. Maybe it will be better than I think.
Tense stuff those negotiations! I'm so glad you are going to have good weather! We are only 1.5 hours from Orlando so the weather is similar. My SILs arrive on Wednesday next week for 3 nights. It looks warm but cloudy with the rain hopefully holding off until after they leave.
Greetings all
It's sunny and almost warm today. No jacket needed with sweatshirt and turtleneck. I think one reason I am a cool weather person is that I prefer to be covered up. No shorts for me any time soon.
CC WTF! You have had a rough morning! Hope things are calmed down now. Maybe you need to drink your coffee from a car mug so it won't spill as long ad Kirby is a teenage dog! Good news is that you have had your share of crappy Karma for awhile. Hope the finger heals fast. Can you get Kirby to just retrieve a ball over and over to keep busy rather than full blown puppy wrestling?
Peps thanks for the link to Kinky Boots. I had no idea. Looks like great fun. Liz glad the show and dinner was good. Special evening.
Goodness I can't keep all the weight loss drugs straight. Do they all need blood work? What is the prohibitive factor? I can see myself doing this some day if I can get my azz moving to do it.
DD hope the contract negotiations work out. I agree 3% or less is a no go. Glad you get to take your trip and that the weather forecast is good.
I spent a little time at the studio today puttering. Thats most of what I do. Got some fresh clay and it's always nice to open a new bag while it's soft and fresh.
DH made a run to costco and target. I asked him to get me some Fairlife protein drinks and he did. Gonna try again to make myself drink the stuff. Baby steps. I think I am really suffering from muscle loss due to the weight loss and regain and the regain was fat only. Hence me feeling achy all the time.
DH also got me some narrow drinking glasses which are nice. They are champagne glasses (not flutes) with a small diameter so I can hold them. Nice. He also got some fancy candy and took it to the staff at our doctor's office. It was a thank you for them going the extra mile to get his prescription from Canada. I had suggested a card. He wanted to take a gift basket but we all know there is no such thing at Target. Anyway it was appreciated greatly.
Whoo Hoo a moon landing! Anybody else old enough to remember the first one? I was in high school. Old me. DH has the Nasa channel on and is nerding out. Shrimp tonight. Diane S
Oh yes, the moon landing is so exciting! Geeking out further, enjoying the name Odysseus. (Although don't get me started about how I think Penelope is the real hero of the Odyssey and maybe they should name something after her). And the fact the whole return to the moon thing is named the Artemis Project is perfection. About time they recognized the Goddess of the Moon!
I do remember the moon landing! We went to my grandmother's to see it because she had a color TV and we only had black and white.
