Interesting article this week on Obesity Help: https://www.obesityhelp.com/articles/weight-loss-medications -vs-weight-loss-surgery/?mc_cid=cb17527a70&mc_eid=ea20b0ff4d

I was surprised to see that Zepbound was so much less tolerated than the other weight loss medications (but the side effects may be why people who stick with it lose more like BB). 1 out of 7 stop Zepbound vs 1 out of 18 on Wegovy.

Interesting! I'm just so intrigued by people who feel super sick on the lowest dose when I don't feel like I'm on anything. Funny how we can be so different.

I think having weight loss surgery helps us manage these medications more easily. Think about everything we learned about clues that we're getting overfull, or this isn't going to sit well, or eating more digest able foods, monitoring for symptoms of GERD etc. Its kind of 2nd nature. This isn't going to prevent all side effects, but I think these habits could decrease the severity.

Oh, and also, according to my surgeon, we've already been on semi glutide. One of the ways WLS succeeds is it creates a surge of GLP-1 hormones. This surge subsidies after a few years, hence, regain.

Makes really good sense!

PS - I wonder if the dropout rates for Zepbound will change over time? It's only been approved for weight loss since November (even though it's been around as Mounjaro since 2022). Wegovy - 2021, Ozempic - 2017

Greetings all

Pouring rain today. I had to run a few critical errands today such as studio payroll. I am thankful for small town life where I can park at the door. Also sent of my retirement distribution documents. I had been avoiding completing it and I think its because it made me feel really old and nearer to the nursing home. Also because I overthink everything and was fussing over options that really aren't that different or meaningful. But it's done. Geez fed x is expensive.

Picked up some stuff from the studio. One of my pieces must have had too much glaze because it melted some globs on the kiln shelf. I can grind it off or just have a garden ornament.

Steak for dinner tonight.

DH is still having a hassle over getting Eloquis from a Canadian pharmacy. I think it's finally done.

Party sounds fun Liz. Like a big giant slumber party.

Tee hee coke at 8 am does not seem weird. My friend used to keep a diet pepsi can of vodka at all times when she had to spend holidays with the in laws. These are the in laws who were such terrible cooks that on Thanksgiving my friend and her family went through the McDonalds drive through and got big macs on the way to their house. Example of food served: diet raspberry jello which contained stewed tomatoes.

OMG the sun is peeking out! Gonna be a great sunset.

Never have I ever heard of something so weird and awful as raspberry Jello with stewed tomatoes. What kind of madness is this?
