It's pouring out and forecasted to continue all day. I did get Justice out for a decent walk beforehand luckily.
The laundry is already done and the beds made. We might make a run to a store today but mostly plan to read/watch TV today. DH has a hard time staying in all day so I suspect he will need the store run and likely a gym visit to break up the day. On the other hand, I don't mind cuddling with Justice and reading all day.
I may have mentioned it previously but the last injection in my shoulder is rapidly wearing off. Though I am not enjoying the return of the pain, in a strange way it helps me feel better about the major surgery coming in a month. When my shoulder was relatively pain-free I was questioning whether a shoulder replacement was necessary.
That's it for the day! Have a surprising Sunday!

A month! Wow, that snuck up fast!
The migratory birds are starting to come back. I feel like I need a birdseed feeder. I kind of want one of the ones with a camera, but they are so expensive for something you don't know if the birds will like...
Lots of balloons this morning too. The path took them in front of the yard and over the house - I could hear them talking when I took Kirby out. Bet they didn't think they'd get a dog poop show for free from up there! They waved...
Kirby has the worst breath. Must be teething. He's lost his bottom canines and it's time for the top ones. With the last bottom canine, he bled all over. On his tennis balls, dripped all over the floor, on the couch, my clothes... Do all of his teeth, even the molars fall out? I can't remember from Fergus.
I lost another 0.6 pounds. I think I might have done bad math the last time I reported. It's 7.8 total. 3rd shot is Tuesday. So glad to not so far have the more common side effects. I wonder if my already in place daily Prevacid keeps a lot of the common acidic ones away (acid reflux, upset stomach, sulfur burps)? People talk about chewing Tums to try to get relief. Which does less than nothing for my acid reflux, hence the Prevacid.
It's Sunday breakfast again. I am opting out of pancakes for eggs again. I just want the bacon!
Today we are going to Palatki to see the Sinaguan people ruins. Hope the folks enjoy it. I think it's cool.
That's my Sunday. Hope you all have a good one!
A friend of mine has a bird feeder with a camera. The pictures are amazing and he is really enjoying it. I say go for it!
CC, Also a vote for the bird camera! I would love to see your pictures. Do you also have squirrels? They ruin my bird feeder experience. Either I spend hours and money trying to keep them off the feeders, or give in and let them dine. I wouldn't even mind if they just ate and left, but they spend hours eating and then the birds don't come. I have a few different bird baths in front of my porch , different sizes and different depths, and they attract so many different birds. It was fun to see that the yellow finches show up right around 5pm everyday.
Liz and Peps, thank you for giving me some perspective in my retirement musings. We have offers to stay in Mexico and Australia. We already know there are affordable options in Brazil. But we don't have to leave the country, we could find some air bnb or buy timeshare weeks from owners if we still wanted to go to Florida. Peps, thanks for helping me remember that I actually like Minnesota, and I really only need to "escape" the coldest months. Even if we came home to a particularly cold April/May, we could take off again for a couple of weeks. And our house is paid off. It may be smallish and in need of many updates, but it is all ours. And Liz, your point about the state of health, we are so fortunate to currently be approaching retirement with both of us healthy and we have the resources we need to keep good health: insurance, home, income, access to good health care. But there are health issues that no amount of good choices or income can fix. So we are very fortunate right now that the life we envision is possible healthwise.
I'm going to read the paper, and then go work out. A friend's Dad whose advice I always welcomed told me once that exercise is the mortgage you pay for a good life. I need to keep that in mind. Every time I prioritize working out, I'm making a payment for the life I want.
No school tomorrow, I sure feel a lot more relaxed on Sunday, when there's no work on Monday. :)
