It is beautiful outside right now but it is supposed to get cloudy and rain this afternoon and the following 2 days. Hopefully with breaks since Justice is fully back to normal and loves his long morning walks.

Nothing on the agenda today - yeah! I probably should cook something. Time to look at some recipes I have stored lately (I screen print them on my iPad and save them in a recipe folder).

Have a satisfying Saturday!

Good afternoon! The day has gotten away from me. It's another pretty one and how nice to have no reason to have to get dressed and talk to any work people this morning. (I did shower and get dressed eventually!)

We all walked Kirby and did 2.24 miles and stopped to say hello to my neighbor. It's a workout trying to keep him from eating any of the hundred plus coyotes poops we pass. I've had a talk with him about how that's how we get worms again, but he didn't care.

I'm working on protein and trying to come up with more non-ultra-processed options. So many online suggestions are weird high protein processed snacks that are not food. I had two eggs and some cottage cheese scrambled for breakfast. And for lunch I mixed a few cans of tuna with an avocado and a little bit of mayo (doesn't need much with the avocado), dill and lemon juice. Claudia and I split it. Had it with a few pretzels (very processed, but tasty) and cherry tomatoes. We're having shrimp stir fry for dinner. Is it just me or are tuna cans holding a lot less tuna than they used to?

Nothing else planned today. I will probably vacuum at some point. Maybe wash and change sheets. But that's it!

Devon when does your semaglutide arrive?

Have a good day all!

Tuna cans used to hold 7 ounces but some companies are using 5 ounce cans. Ridiculous!

I knew I wasn't imagining it!

And a 5oz can has a "drained weight" of 4oz.

Greetings all

Sitting here on a rainy day playing on the computer rather than doing anything useful. DH is watching documentary about ancient Peru. Sooner or later it will get to some kind of aliens, I bet.

I will do a studio day tomorrow so not today. Time to clean out the fridge and excavate the freezer for something for dinner. Also need to bill pay and do gallery banking. I remember when you used to be able to sit down once a month and write checks for all bills and lick stamps. Now it seems like due dates are allover the place and you don't get 30 days before a late charge. At least most of it can be done on line except for the recent garage door repair which is still old school.

CC nothing like a puppy to get you out walking. Good on you. And good on you for assembling the high protein options. When i was dieting as a teenager (which i am sure we all did) I used to eat a scoop of cottage cheese with some plain tuna. It is a good combination. In those days tuna came packed in oil. Avocado mix sounds good. And everyone is right, tuna is in smaller cans. Fresh tuna is available here in late summer from the docks. Some people can it.

Liz I looked at Postmark. So much stuff! What I looked at was all pretty dressy but I did see NWT and was proud I now know what that means.

I am still doing my little treadmill walk each day. I don't like it bu****ch the news and remind myself that it's a way of delaying the nursing home.

Peps hope your dog show day is better. And that wherever you are its not raining.

DD continue to enjoy your long weekend. I am betting its a latte day for you!

Not much else. Still thinking of semiglutides but thats about all I do these days. Think.

The snow that fell this week is still here, but will probably melt next week when it gets into the 40s again. It's been a crazy mild winter, so I'm not complaining! We can get hammered by snow until April, but it's very unlikely we will any brutal arctic air at this point. None the less, looking forward to some warm sun in Florida. We leave on Friday.

Per the pantyhose discussion, I don't even know where to buy any or what brand I like. They were a wardrobe staple in my teens and 20s. I wonder how much I spent on them in the 80s?

CC, I typically enjoy cottage cheese and Greek yogurt for non meat protein, but the meds have given me weird food aversions from time to time. Right now, cottage cheese is okay, but Chobani, which I love, not so much. Tuna sounds good, I haven't had that in a long time. Egg salad tasted great the other day. Oh, and I've enjoyed eating steel cut oats with fair life milk. I'm not limiting carbs, beyond the fact that my overall calorie intake is pretty low.

Peps I hope today's part of the show went better.

We visited my parents today. It mostly went well, but my Mom always cries at some point. Maybe something has gone wrong inside me, but I almost never cry. I get choked up, and teary eyed sometimes, and there are times I wish I could cry. Maybe it's for the best, because there are a lot of people crying at work these days. But I digress. Anyhow, my Mom got a new chrome book, but was struggling to get her passwords entered etc and sync her Google account. I was able to get it hooked up to their internet etc,. Most of their problems I can't solve, so it's nice when I can fix something. My Dad is enchanted with you tube videos, and was watching something about geothermal energy when we left.

Since the trailer show, my head is spinning about where we will spend our winters when I retire. Trailer camp grounds? Mexico? Brazil? Australia? (Where we wouldn't even necessarily need to rent). We cannot afford a house in Florida unless we sell the one we're living in here in Minnesota. DH doesn't want all his housing equity in Florida. If he were on board, I think I'd do it. I asked him if he would consider moving to Massachusetts, which feels similar to Minnesota in a lot of ways. He thought that might be a possibility if our daughter stays out there. So much to think about. There is still plenty of time, but I like having plans!

I know Minnesota winters can be brutal, but there are very few places I have traveled where I can see myself living. Minnesota is one of them. Great infrastructure, nice people, taxes don't seem unreasonable..... I personally like the idea of trying a few different places for a few months before making a final decision. But, that's just my two cents.... and coming from someone who will probably just pay off the house and live there in retirement....

I am one of those people who feel we get a good return on the taxes we pay in Minnesota.

So much to think about when contemplating retirement in a healthy state. Very exciting! By the time we were getting to retirement, DH had dementia so all our choices were based on that (having a single place to live in the winter to avoid confusion, planning the possibility of long-term care for an extended period).

Strange you said that about crying. I feel the same way. My daughter and a few of the other people at the wedding dress event were crying. I felt choked up but didn't cry. The same when I'm sad. I think some of my past experiences have made it difficult for me to emote as easily other people do.
