It is beautiful out this morning: warm with some pretty clouds. I hope it holds for the day. DD, this bodes well for your Florida feet!

Last night was a great Valentines Day. We stayed up really late just talking. DH says he never had that closeness with anyone. Makes me feel good.

Justice is under the weather this morning but I can't tell why. All his limbs seem fine and he doesn't feel too warm. Hopefully it isn't his teeth. He doesn't seem to want to move around and just stands with his tail between his legs when I put him down. Though he did his business when I took him out he was very slow moving and wouldn't walk up the stairs so I had to carry him. I hate seeing him this way.

The house closing has been moved up by 3 days which makes it much more convenient for us. All work needed to close is ready. DH's mood is much improved with that albatross off his back in 12 days. He keeps walking through why accepting the offer was a good financial decision. The former CFO still thinks that way apparently.

Enjoy the day: Only one more to the weekend for our working folks. Have a terrific Thursday!

Poor Justice. Maybe a trip to the vet? Hard when the symptoms are vague.

Glad you had a nice Valentine's Day. We finished the British series Bodyguard on Netflix last night. It's a few years old, but I knew dad and Claudia would love it. They did!

I had another confrontation with my dad about Kirby. He hopped up on the couch (which I'm trying hard to stop) and started playfully trying to mouth his hand, which lead to a bruise as you can just think about my dad and bruise him. He went to grab Kirby by the neck as before and I looked him in the eye and very firmly said DON'T HURT MY DOG. I took the dog and left the room. I know we are doing something to encourage the mouthing, but can't see entirely what. Some of it is hand movements in mouth's reach, I can see. And they think they are correcting him in ways that he sees it as further play that escalates the mouthing. I'm thinking about having a trainer come in and give advice. Claudia scared me with telling me their good friends with 3 Goldens are getting sued for $3 million. They live on the bea*****A and a woman's little dog ran iff the beach onto their property, one of the Goldens went after it, the woman put her hand in between to pick up her dog and she got incidentally bitten. That isn't the kind of biting Kirby is doing, it's unwanted playful puppy biting, but made me realize I need better tools with him around old people. (I also need to up my liability insurance.) Most of the time he is a really good boy...

He lost his first canine tooth this morning! Bled all over...

Tonight we are going out to dinner with Michigan friends at a new restaurant.

On the weight front, I'm down 7.8. I already feel more comfortable in my clothes - especially since I was maxing them out before and everything felt really tight. I'm trying to prioritize protein. I really have grown to hate protein shakes, so I haven't gone that way yet. Weight bearing exercises would also be good given muscle loss is a problem for many with these drugs. And dehydration is also a thing, which could be part of my loss as I have a headache.

I think that's it. The mason guy is back today to carve away.

Take care all!

I struggle with protein shakes/drinks, yuck. I'm trying to chug a glass of fair life milk an hour or so before a meal. Even just regular, unflavored, skim, fair life milk tastes better to me than a protein shake.

Have you tried the fairlife protein shakes? Not the CORE, but the regular one? I really like them and they do not trigger the protein shake yuck factor for me.

Yes!!! But our Costco hasn't had them since May. I couldn't find them anywhere around here, so I forgot they were even an option. We just got back from Costco and they finally had some: limit 2 per customer. So now I am the proud owner of $60 worth of protein drinks.

If you have a trainer come, your Dad and Claudia should participate so everyone is on the same page. Consistency is so hard when you have "helpers."

Greetings all

Overcast today. Across the street roofers are trying to beat the rain. Whoever decided to do a new roof in February around here is nuts!

Hmmm protein. DD reminds me I should go get a glass of milk instead of the other junk I am contemplating. I too can no longer tolerate protein shakes. I had all these little tricks when I was in weight loss phase like letting them partially freeze and only pouring out two ounces into a chilled glass. Cold was always better.

Milk secured. Fortunately no cookies are available. I think DH has a secret stash but I will not go hunting.

Studio time today. One little sculpture I made has disappeared. Must talk to the techs. I know it went on the firing shelf but never came out of kiln. Could be it got delayed or broken or swiped!

CC I hear you on the dog issues. Kirby is a full time resident. Your Dad needs to respect that. But the mouthing is not good though normal. My studio buddy is always pestered by my dogs here. Keeping them at bay is a lot of work. They are just friendly but they want contants attention and she complains about it. I really think Kirby will grow out of it. Guess your Dad could put bitter apple on his hands to discourage mouthing but that does not always work. Does Kirby have a field dummy? Some retrievers like to carry those around all the time.

DD Florida feet! Nice way to think of beaches.

Liz maybe Justice has a sore back. Years ago I had a dog that would not step over a garden hose due to a back injury. Don't remember that we did much except rest it. Poor little guy. And sending good vibes to get the house sold.

Pork chops tonight. Exploration of freezer resulted in pork chop discovery. Thin kind easy to cook. Maybe with the Japanese bar b que sauce.

Happy Birthday Peps! Have a super day!

Diane

The big birthday epiphany for today: I realized I have been employed by my school district for half of my life! I started there when I was 30. Oh, dear.... But, I have very much enjoyed the "OMG! I can't believe you're 60!" comments. Nice to be thought of as younger.... I'll take it where I can.

My allergies have gone absolutely insane! Not sure what is getting me or whether it is some type of cold, but the sneezing and dripping are just horrible.

Must get my butt in gear and get on the road for the dog show this weekend. Will celebrate the big six oh upon my return home.

Happy Birthday Peps! Hope this a decade of joy, adventure and freedom.

Liz, never like hearing Justice is not well. I think of him as one of our tribe. He seems like such a sweetheart.

Protein drinks! You may have seen my response to Peps, after months and months, I found the fair life protein drinks. (30 grams). I agree they are tolerable. I just ate some Costco roasted chicken too. Looks like I'll meet protein goals today.

CC, maybe the Zepbound is a miracle elixir. You're having great losses, and on the lowest dose.

Diane, I hope your piece shows up. If it broke in the kiln, wouldn't someone tell you?

Work, then DH encouraged me to go work out. I'm glad I did. I used the resistance until my muscles felt a little wobbly. Then we went to Costco. Now I'm sitting on the sofa watching the local news and I feel great.

We ended up with 6 inches of snow last night and it was an icy, slippery drive this morning. One of my younger co workers offered me his arm while trying to navigate the icy parking lot. Another said, I'll do you one better, I'll push you down, and then you can get workman's comp. Haha. I told him one day my side hurt and I thought, maybe it's gallstones. Surgery would get me 4 weeks, right? Those who laugh, last.
