Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (Valentines Day)
Another day of wedding planning. With actual costs and estimates, I have already exceeded my preferred budget. No surprise as I knew it was too low. Deposits to be paid today and booking some rooms. I am somewhat annoyed that one of DD's friends set up an engagement party 4 days after my shoulder surgery (1.5 hours away). There is no way I can go to that. I may float the idea of them doing it a week later as I will still be in Massachusetts but probably more able to go to it at least for a little while.
DH is playing golf today so I am going to poke around in some stores. I may get something to set the table with tonight and to use for a condo building party I am hosting in early March. DH and I are staying in for Valentine's Day and having a special dinner as we have for our prior ones. This is our 4th Valentines Day together.
Nothing else on the agenda. Looking forward to hearing how Peps online appointment goes for the semaglutide prescription. Have a vibrant Valentines Day!

Zepbound update. Second shot yesterday. I found another potential side effect, but it's minor. It's something called allodynia. The skin on my arms hurt to the touch all night. Like I had a sunburn, but not hot. Uncomfortable to move in my sleep and weird, but minor. It's almost gone this morning. I saw some people had it for the first month then not again. Hard when you don't feel anything else to remember you're on a drug! But as to not feeling like I'm on anything and worrying it wasn't doing anything, I'm down 6.8 pounds without effort. Wow.
The mason guy was here all day and made great progress grinding out the bad grout. I was worried all morning because I kept thinking he was grinding at places I didn't even know were an issue, but once he moved from the entry to the patio, I could see he was focused on the right stuff. My backyard is a dust disaster currently. He took today off because he promised his girlfriend he would for Valentine's Day. Young people... He'll be back Thursday and vacuum it all before regrouting. He tried to keep it swept, but it's such fine dust. Nice to have a day off from the noise.
Kirby was having a naughty day yesterday. Just bratty and into everything and harassing everyone, especially me. A walk helped and some forced pen time for a nap. He did let me sleep to 8:20 with a 6:00 am potty break! My little teenager!
No plans today. It's another beautiful day! Just a walk with Kirby. I think my Dad and Claudia will spend a lot sitting outside.
Not much else here! Liz, I hope the friend is open to changing the party date. Did she just not know or forgot? Hoping your shots come quickly, Peps! I suspect they will as they have to be kept cold. I got mine overnight.
Have a nice day all!
The friend didn't know. Do you think Kirby was irritated by the noise? Good though that he is sleeping better.
I have Florida feet now. DH and I enjoyed our Valentine's Day Pedicures. Then we came home and DH cooked us one of his famous frozen pizzas.
It snowed!! Trying not to be too cross about, seeing as we have been snow less up until now.
I finished watching Beef on Netflix last night. 2nd to last episode was way too crazy. Not sure what I think of this series.
Oh Wow, watching the news right now, and learning about the shooting in Kansas City's Superbowl Parade. What will become of us?
Greetings all
Gallery duty today all day. It rained a lot but a few souls came in so that was nice. I mostly did crosswords. That and go through a mountain of daily sales envelopes and try to unsnarl the petty ca****hink annoying person used up the cash for refreshments for an event which is fine but not telling me so expense could be booked and cash replaced is not fine. No response to call. Don't know why some people are so uncooperative. I also found the stash of Dove chocolate at the gallery. oops.
Liz hope the party thing works out. No partying for you 4 days after surgery! Sounds like plans are moving right along.
CC grout grinding sounds icky. Hope it's done soon. Yep good that you think of Kirby as a middle school kid - short attention. Congrats on the weight loss. Sounds like its all going well.
Yikes yet another shooting. What is wrong with everyone?
Stopped at the post office for a load of mail Then to the store for a few things. Small town life is indeed convenient. Park at the front door and no lines at the cashier.
Cheers, Diane S
Interesting day with doctors. My PCP wants to have an appointment with me to discuss Wegovy/Ozempic.... Not sure what that will bring about, but it certainly is intriguing. That appointment is next Tuesday.
The appointment with Henry Meds went well. It was ON TIME and the PA was very thorough. The estimate for the med arrival is 7 business days. So, I should have it by next Friday.
Not much else to report....
