Still on Cape Cod bracing the cold (though it is warmer than usual here too). 37 walking on the beach during a wedding venue tour felt freezing. But today it is supposed to be near 60 in central Massachusetts where I am driving for a baby shower.

Yesterday was a success: we found a venue and a perfect Saturday date in September. The first place we visited was surprisingly better than we expected and the second was more or less as we thought it would be (I had been there previously). Though they were tempted by the first they decided it actually had more included than they really cared about and they didn't like how separate the outdoor areas were from the indoor. So they picked the second one which they felt had everything they wanted and is the perfect size for their wedding of 75 - the other one was a bit large. They cancelled the 3rd tour at the venue DH and I used for our wedding celebration for some good reasons because the second was much better for them. The wedding will be on the beach and the reception on the second floor of a restaurant on an iconic beach. Beautiful view from the balcony which extends the wedding space.

So today I drive over 90 minutes to the baby shower. 4 hours allotted for it! I am tired thinking about it. Tomorrow is wedding dress time (at least to try on and get a feel for what looks good), then flying home in time for the super-bowl halftime at a friend's home (if my plane is on time).

Time to call DH and take my shower. Have a super Saturday!

I'm low on info. The sun is out, though still in the 30s as we approach noon. Kirby had a good time running around the yard and digging (which required hosing him off).

Glad you found a good venue, Liz!

I'm doing chores. Aside from that, I got nothin'...

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Amazing it is so cool there this week - it was 56 in central Massachusetts where the baby shower was held.

Love hearing that your DD's plans are coming together so well! September seems like a perfect time for a wedding. Hope the dress shopping is fun. I remember it was a fun day with my Mom and one of my bridesmaids, who almost 40 years later is still a dear friend.

We spent the day looking at travel trailers and RVs. If we were to spend RV prices, I'd rather spend a bit more and look for a little house in Florida. Peps, I know you are sold on RV, but I just can't get past the having to tow a car too. And trailers are much more affordable. We are looking at something small, because we would be pulling it with a Ford Explorer, not a big truck. We looked at numerous small trailers, and, we could afford to buy with cash. My requirements are small: has to be light enough to pull with an Explorer, a bed (no sofa beds, no beds you make by folding down a dining banquet, but I would go with a Murphy bed) and a sofa or recliners, and a bathroom. An outdoor kitchen would be nice too, but not essential. Its nice to know if we really decide we want to try this, we could.

Going to dinner with friends in a few minutes. Hope everyone is having a good Saturday.

I am sold on RVs for dog shows. LOL! Beyond that, not so much.... Like you said, unless you tow a car you really don't have a lot of freedom once parked. In some instances that is okay. in others, not so much.

When I went to Palm Springs in January it was far less expensive to get a hotel for the weekend than to take the RV. I pick and choose.

Advice: 1) If you get the Murphy Bed option in a trailer, make sure it comes with a decent mattress. Some of the Murphy beds have a foam cushion mattress that is in two pieces. Not what you want! The Murphy bed in our little trailer had a mattress like that. It was not kind to my back. 2) make sure that the trailer has AUTO everything!!!!! Seriously. The trailers without auto stabilizers and hitches are a total time suck and pain in the azz! 3) make sure the trailer has a large enough fresh water tank for your needs. I would not go with smaller than 40 gallon tank. (Current RV has 100 gallon tank and I LOVE that.....)

Well, boy oh boy did I have a session with my NUT yesterday that triggered me! All I wanted to do was eat afterward! LOL!

After much consideration I have decided to give Wegovy/Ozempic a try. I found a seemingly reputable company called Henry Meds that offers a compound for both semaglutide and tirzepatide compounds, but unfortunately the Zepbound compound is not available in CA. I can get the Wegovy/Ozempic compound for just under $300 per month, which for now is somewhat affordable. I will simply have to redirect some of my "luxury" spending (e.g. twice monthly massage and my over reliance and spending on take out food/eating out) to the compound cost. Easy enough.

DD, what is the dose you are currently taking? If I want to keep a maintenance dose at 1 mg, I can with this program. If I want to up it to the 2 mg level it will be another c note each month. Hopefully, 1 mg per week will be enough. We shall see.

Liz, this company serves Florida for both semaglutide and tirzepatide compounds.... Just an FYI.....

Gotta go back to chores! Satisfying Saturday to all.....

I had restriction at every dose level. I've had to advance because insurance required it. But honestly, higher doses have not equaled faster weight loss, just more side effects. I'm at 2.4 now. I started losing weight with .5. I would have liked to stay on that dose, or 1 for longer than I did. .5 really killed my appetite and the thoughts about food. Weirdly, I was hungrier on 1.0, but when the hunger broke through, I could only manage to eat a small amount. If you find a dosage working for you, I would stay on it until it's effectiveness wanes, then advance. That may leave you some wiggle room from having to go to the highest doses.

My Weight loss has been slow, I believe, because of the Tamoxifen. But DH hasn't lost super fast either, but he had lost steadily. I think close to 40 pounds. He finds it hasn't blunted his emotional interest in food as much as it had for me. It has caused restriction though, and for this reason he eats less and losses weight.

Our experience is that it is not a magic elixir that melts weight off, but it can be a very effective tool.

Also, you can play around with how often you inject. Wegovy literature says you can inject two days before your scheduled dose, or up to 2 days after. If the low dose isn't doing much, you could speed up your progression to the next step. Right now, I'm injecting the 2.4 every 9 days instead of 7.
