The joy of a dog romping in the snow. My beagles used to be like Kirby. So much fun! Chihuahuas would rather skip the cold stuff though...

Uneventful travels yesterday, which was good. I slept well and am ready for the wedding venue visits today. The larger escrow deposit came in for the house sale yesterday, the title search was completed, and the new roof should be completed today. Maybe we can even close before March 1? What a relief to have this proceeding smoothly after 9 months of fits and starts.

Time to get ready for the tours which we leave for in about an hour. Should be an interesting day.

Have a fine Friday!

Not much to report today. It's FriYAY! We had a fun assembly at school - dragon dancers to celebrate lunar new year. I recognized the name of the company and the drummer. Naturally, a former school family and student! Funny how when one teaches long enough, the number of former students one runs into each week! It's a lot of fun to see how kids grow up!

Yesterday's workout was a good one. I had a lot of strength yesterday. I love days when that happens. I was able to incline press 4 sets of 75lb dumb bells and even manage 15 reps on the last set. The strength 100% combats the negative feelings of "FAT".

Little Jiffy took on her brother who came to visit yesterday. He was pestering her and she finally stood up for herself and took him down. I cracked up because I remember how many times he pummeled her in the whelping box. She had him on his back crying for help. I thought to myself, "Comeuppance is a *****!"

I am looking forward to the weekend. I need to sleep a bit. Nothing on the books until 10:30 tomorrow, which means a lovely leisurely morning.

Will I feel the same about Fridays once I'm retired?

Six days to 60!

Strong female! I love it!

I still like Fridays - maybe a leftover from working days. But not as much of a sense of relief for the week being over.

You are indeed very strong. I admire your discipline in keeping to your workouts.

What a gorgeous morning! Not a cloud and everything covered in snow. It's since gotten cloudy, but this morning was amazing.

I had lunch with a local friend today. We had ramen at a restaurant I had never heard of. Good to find people to break me out of my habits!

I suppose I've been leaving a little on my plate since Tuesday. Certainly well beyond stopping after a few bites, but I'm not licking the plate (figuratively) lately. Maybe that will grow? Wouldn't that feel nice not to be able to eat everything my brain wants!? Whether it's the drug or my wanting it to be the drug is unclear.

We're watching Masters of the Air on AppleTV+. WWII drama by Spielberg and Tom Hanks about American bomber plane crews. The bravery those young men showed is humbling. Their life expectancy was 46 days. I keep thinking, I can't imagine seeing and experiencing what they went through.

Anyway, that's all I have. I should walk Kirby, but the 38 degree temps are holding me back...

Good luck venue shopping, Liz! How lucky yoyr daughter is to have you to go through this with!

Peps, I nearly knocked myself out with a 17.5lb weight on an incline bench. Not sure I could lift even one 75lb one! You rock!

Take care, all!

Funny how sometimes we can't tell what is wishful thinking or real isn't it?

30s here also. I am also not out walking. Its close to our average high, but feels so chilly after all our record breaking high temps.

Greetings all

The sun is being shy today but it is not raining. DH had another doctor apt today to have some kind of vascular tests and then he went to lunch with buddy. I stayed home and washed hair. He brought home Chinese food after some recreational time at Target.

Gallery duty tomorrow and it's a full day instead of usual half. Regardless of rain or no rain, it will be a slow time so I must have entertainment. I will be gluing some wine stoppers today to take along.

CC thanks for sharing the snow romp. Such fun to watch - especially from a warm dry spot. I had a Cairn terrier who loved the snow and would plow through it like a dolphin. Hope your weight loss med works out and that there are no icky side effects.

Yay Peps on feeling stronger = feeling not fat. Strength and fitness gives a feeling of body confidence, or so I am told having very little experience with it. 75 pounds is HUGE. And the assembly sounds fun - seeing your former urchins become real people! Good on Jiffy for being a powerful *****

We split a deli chicken bean burrito last night. It was quite good but it had more salt than the Dead Sea.

My second pair of rebbocks arrived today. I am almost afraid to try them on because virtually no shoes fit me. Must be brave. The old ones are literally falling apart..

Good luck with wedding venues Liz. And congrats on the house sale.

The eagles in big bear are nesting away in a foot of snow. Poor things.

Hope the new shoes work out. I have so many issues trying to buy closed toe shoes that feel comfortable to me. The struggle is real.

Yes for comfortable closed toe shoes! I have had the most success with Allbirds lately.
