Quick post as it is time to go outside into the cold to walk with Justice. It is 55 and windy though sunny. Such a weird Florida winter. Weird many places apparently - I am glad our California contingent is not flooded out.

I am typing on my new iPad keyboard. I have to learn to coordinate between the keyboard and using the touch screen, but I think it will help especially when typing like this. I decided to forgo replacing my MacBook which is sadly out of date by adding a keyboard to my iPad. I really haven't used the MacBook in more than a year so I don't think I need it and don't want to spend the money to replace it.

Bocce this afternoon, but nothing else on the agenda.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

The rain wasn't supposed to start until afternoon, but it decided to get here early along with some big winds. The tied up patio umbrella blew over and the new solar panels creak. I picked up after Kirby on the grass (so much grosser when it's wet) and put the pool cover back on, setting up the cover pump. I had left it off during the last storm (free water for the pool), but this is supposed to bring us 3-4" (they are never right though!) and the pool is already full.

Kirby slept pretty well. His internal alarm clock is set for 7am lately without fail. I've been letting him sleep outside his crate (he just barks and cries in it even with super tasty treats, which I don't have the energy for). He did chew the end off a charging cable night before last. Such a puppy move and a rookie one on my part that it was exposed. It was plugged in, wouldn't he have felt that chewing through the wire? Like licking a 9V battery (childhood dare, worth a try if you never have ).

Yesterday I groceried up and got stuff to make chicken soup tonight. Seemed like a good nasty weather dinner. I also got stuff to fill up our bimonthly food bank "green bag" that all the neighborhoods do here. It got me thinking that all that canned and dried food is great if you have nothing else and it's shelf stable, but it's not healthy by and large.

And wonder of wonders, I was finally able to order my prescription yesterday and it should get here today. Now I'm nervous...

Liz, my dad and Claudia love their keyboards! I'm still a screen typer, but I think it's what you're used to.

Wishing you all a good day!

Stay dry! Taking dogs out in pouring rain is NOT fun!

Greetings all

The rain has paused for a bit and the sun is trying to peek out. DH has two medical appointments today and I had one so the car is driving up and down to eureka over and over. Times are far enough apart to not go together. The freeway here borders the bay and a lot of pastures and boy are those pastures flooded. Ponds all over the place. That is normal here though. Thats why nothing is built on these pastures which would otherwise be prime home sites.

So DH saw the vein doctor this morning and is getting some custom compression socks. He is a big guy so off the shelf socks won't work. He may have to have some veins removed but we shall see. I am glad he is getting some help and he is sure feeling better.

Liz glad you like the iPad keyboard. That would be the thing to have if you were in college. Do all students do note taking that way now?

So I asked my doctor about wegovy today. He is not opposed to it and readily prescribes such drugs for diabetic people and such. I don't think I am ready to go there yet but will contemplate it for awhile.

CC good that you got your drug ordered. Hope it comes soon. And hope your storm is not too terrible. No fun pottying dog in the rain. Glad he is sleeping a little more. I am lucky DH gets up early and lets the dogs out. Then they come back to bed.

Peps good on you for teaching away without power. Blackboards rock. Kids probably thought it was quaint. Sort of like camping in the living room. Actually sounds fun. And congrats on getting invited to Westminster. Years ago my friend showed a dog there when it was at Madison square gardens. The logistics of having dog and hotel were horrid. Glad they moved it. Good luck.

No clue whats for dinner tonight. I have some roast turkey from the deli so some sort of thing with that. I have stuff for more soup but we are souped out.

There is beaucoup snow at big bear lake and the eagles are covered with snow on the nest. So worrisome!

Take care all. Diane S
