As Peps was yesterday, I am on Day 3 of cleaner eating (less sugar, fat and calories). It usually takes me about a week to stop the worst cravings. Of course by then I will be on our 5 day trip. Though trips curb snacking the meal choices are not always the best. But I figured that if I were going to JFDI I had to stop waiting. I will readjust after the trip (so she says now).

The main reason I am trying to lose now is the knee pain. I really can't deal with that along with the shoulder and I also don't want to compromise our long walks. To that end I broke down and bought a pair of Hokas so I would have them for our trip. Think gunboats on my rather large feet (size 10 even though I am only 5'3" tall).

Today we are working at the tennis tournament again. It is supposed to be 80 though cloudy and breezy. We are praying that the clouds ease up a bit on Friday and Saturday so we can finally go to the beach. It has been 7-8 weeks since we last did probably the longest time since I retired.

Have a total Thursday!

I suppose individual results will vary depending on body chemistry when coming off the drugs. Still I think for those for whom it works, it is a good choice to get a jump start to a healthy weight.

Greetings all

This day is shaping up to be rather crappy. Poppy is in being spayed and DH took her in very early and there was some kind of misunderstanding so they were delayed. Makes no sense but should go ahead. DH toothache is acting up more and he is moaning and groaning. There is only one endodontist in the county and they are not calling back. So we have an appointment with one in Santa Rosa which is 200 miles away. Monday. Dog sitter unavailable. What a **** show. Also going to cost $2000. That must be the rate for us out of town hillbillies.

And furthermore, my new shoes came and they are no good. Different toe box which is too narrow.

Made lentil soup last night. It was good though plain. More tonight especially for the tooth patient. I have already been to the pharmacy for an anti biotic and oral gel. I have some stronger pain killers from various old issues and it's hard to tell if that is needed. DH groans continually when he feels bad and it's hard to judge the degree of severity. Plus he is extremely cranky.

So at least the soup is a step towards healthy eating. We might be doing beans often.

In addition to all this we had a zoom board meeting today for the studio. New person starts blathering about utility rates even though she is not sure what to do about it. If you don't have answers, please shut up.

Well thats enough ranting for me. I need to hug a puppy.

I've had numerous root canals, I've actually lost count but I think it's 10. I have much sympathy for your DH, the pain can bring you to your knees. I also have much sympathy for you too, trying to take care of someone who is in pain, and doesn't deal well. You could go ahead and dose him once with special painkillers (if not a problem with his a fib) and see if it helps. The life you save might be your own.

Thanks DD. It's hard to assess how serious his pain is At least he has started the antibiotics. I have had two root canals. Not fun but doable. I am not sure why the dentist here is not doing that other than it might not be the solution. Would rather not have to drive 200 miles to find out.

Paperwork day sounds sort of peaceful. Tee tee on your sub.

I hope puppy hugs helped. Some days it does seem like everything just piles on doesn't it?

A lot of teachers wear the Hokas brand, and really like them. Hope they give you some relief. Do you think some PT could give you some additional relief?

I did PT for one knee in the past and it didn't do much for it. But we shall see. I do think extra weight is one of the biggest factors exacerbating it. Should be a motivator?

Today I had a paperwork day, we get 4 a year, so I go into work, and hole up in a storage room and write progress reports. Boring, but I get a lot done. At the end of the day the sub came to find me so they could tell me how difficult my 5th hour class is. Ya think? This group tests every skill I have. Some days are more productive, some are a ride on the crazy train.

Warmish here, 36 degrees, but overcast skies. The snow cover is minimal, and I love it. Its good to hear things are warming up in Florida. I want lots of heat by the end of February.

I don't know if I will be able to keep off the weight I'm losing with Wegovy. I didn't know if WLS would be effective either. Seems like we are in a worldwide study about how all this is going to work. There's a lot of data flowing in. What we learn is going to be super interesting.
