Happy Birthday CC!
I am envious of Peps day yesterday with nothing to do but have kids over to play with pups. Talk about joy!
DD is essentially engaged. Her boyfriend asked me and DS to bless his asking DD to marry him. Boy was he nervous which I guess is what prompted his extreme teasing of DD. They stopped at the jeweler on the way home from here yesterday to make sure they had the right size to do the final order of the ring. Good thing, as DD thought her size was much larger than it really is. I guess it is truly official when the ring is on her finger?
Good sleep last night until 3 after which I was wide awake - same pattern as the night before. I am worried about things in the house which should be fixed up prior to selling, the future of getting it ready, having my shoulder surgery, etc. My brain doesn't like to stop.
It is our last night here. I thought we would have more room in our bags to take back some decorative items to Florida but I think they may end up pretty full. Maybe we will ship a box. So difficult to think about clearing out this place to sell next year.
Have another restful day if you can!
He asked DS for his blessing too? Oh that is so lovely. Kind of chokes me up a bit. Congratulations to the whole family.
You have made so many big changes these last few years Liz. I bet your organizing, planning mind is always working.
Today is tidy up day. There are remnants of gift openings still about. DS is leaving g for Wisconsin shortly, so his things will exit. We bought him a lot this year. We are helping our daughter with rent, we buy her plane tickets home etc. My parents used to lavish help on my brother and actually say to me, out loud, we wish we could help you but we have to help your brother, anyhow, you're doing okay. That stung. I never want my DS to feel that way. (Although he is doing great!) We could afford to spoil him this year, so we did. It felt very nice.
The kitchen is pretty much clean, living room is next. But first I am making myself drink so much water. All bodily functions tell me I haven't taken in nearly enough fluids these last few days. Ever since surgery, my thirst signal is not very strong. Once I start drinking though, then I notice, oh yeah, I am thirsty. Just need to pause long enough to get started...

Thanks, Liz! Kirby had me up at the rude hour of 6:30 and had a very barky morning. His citronella refill came today, but not the collar! That comes tomorrow. I dremeled his nails this morning with the help of a peanut butter smeared licky mat. Success!
Later he has shots and tonight we are going to a yummy restaurant for dinner (Elote Cafe). It's so hard to get reservations there as they fill up 2 months in advance, so ours are for 5:15! Not so secretly, I love that. I dislike eating late.
Anyway, that's all that's worth reporting on my first day of being 52! Hope you all have nice days!
Greetings all
Mother Nature can't decide whether to rain or not today. Just spitting. But something is afoot because the airplanes are taking off to the east today which is sort of over our house. Usually they take off to the west which is over the ocean. Weird winds I guess.
Liz congrats on DD engagement. The story about this guy asking permission is so sweet. It says to me that he takes this obligation and commitment very seriously which is good. Not a thing to be done lightly. Seems to me they are engaged once she says yes. Sorry for your lack of sleep. Easy to lose sleep when worrying about tasks to be done. Worrying does no good but there it is. Once at midnight I was worrying about a work thing and I knew I could not sleep until I looked at it so I went to the office at midnight. Fortunately it was a place I could do that safely. Not these days.
CC good luck with Mr. Barkypants. And yeah you need early dinner if he gets you up early. Enjoy age 52!
DD I bet your son gets why DD needs a little extra help. Glad you are able to offer it. Being a grown up is seeing the big picture I guess.
I think I might investigate wegovy or something. Yeah it ain't cheap but I can manage it. But first I need to be mentally prepared to address weight and to accept limited eating. Important issues that I managed pre VSG. Gotta go through all that again. Still in the thinking phase.
Gallery duty tomorrow. It will be slow. Must make sure I have crosswords and other toys. Of course I could keep busy cleaning but... no thanks.

Getting our heads in the right place is the hardest part of losing weight no matter how we do it.
