Dentist and dermatologist visits done (no issues). Today is Mammo and PCP pre-surgical exam. My trips home in December and when I return in June are full of these appointments. How did I end up with so many of them? And BTW, what is the value of the annual Medicare visit vs. a physical? Seems like a waste of Medicare money as it involves almost no real check (just basic listen to heart and chest and looking in eyes, nose and throat). The bulk of that visit is a questionnaire which is supposed to screen for dementia and physical safety. I suppose if one never went for a true physical it would be better than nothing but from my perspective I would rather have it combined with a true physical check. But they won't do that for billing reasons. Rant over.

We accomplished most run around errands yesterday between appointments. This morning we are clearing out early for today's appointments while the housekeeper comes.

Tonight DS is taking us to a Christmas light/music display, then out to dinner. Other than the early out of the house (8:30 am) it should be a good day.

Last day before holiday break for you teachers. Hopefully the kids aren't too wild.

I got some back story on why my brother is going to NV for Christmas. It makes sense. I did tell him how I was peeved that all our Christmas tradition went to sh*t this year. He agreed and sympathized. He would rather stay home and have the normal family Christmas, too, but in a marriage there are concessions that need to be made. This was definitely one of them!

I signed up for a post Christmas weight loss, fix your metabolism seminar. Will be interesting to see what it is and if it is something I can work with. I need a plan of some sort.

There is a Christmas Tree up and lit. Will put a few ornaments on it tonight and call it done. LOL! That's about all I've got in me this year!

Very few cars on the road this morning! My normal 30 - 40 minute drive with traffic was a mere 14 minutes. Oh, were that the case every morning! It was a real treat!

I am looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow until at least 8 am! Such a luxury. I want to submerge myself in puppiness and play with puppies and my big dogs all day.

DD, hope your last day of class goes smoothly! I'm done at 11:30. I'm already champing at the bit.....

What started as a foggy icky day has turned sunny. Works for me. Just got back from lunch at the Chinese buffet. New girlfriend of the 80 year old (she is also 80) came along and it was fun. She is new to this area and is enjoying discovery. She likes the restaurant which is good because her guy is not crazy about it but DH and his other buddy love it. I managed to eat reasonably well until I discovered the soft serve...

Yeah Liz medicare annual visit is lame. I haven't had a real physical in a very long time. And yeah they ask all these questions about falling down but do nothing if you are a fall risk. Hope all your health stuff goes well and glad some of it is done.

Well DD, our E waste is not gone yet. DH went to help his friend with some. DH is now reverting to the idea he is going to take it apart. So I am not holding my breath. Yeah I get it about the cardboard boxes. We have those too as well as about a dozen tool kits.

Peps I am glad to hear you talked with your brother about x mas stuff. Helps to understand the other side of the issues. People get pulled in so many directions at Holidays which adds to stress. And let us know what the metabolic re set is. These days I can't seem to find a single ounce of self discipline when it comes to eating. Enjoy your work break! Puppies rule.

I need to go up to the gallery today to pick up cash and take a few items. I always like to go up there because a block away is one of the most fabulous ocean views anywhere so I drive by. Every afternoon there is this little pick up truck parked on the roadside. I think it's someone who comes to see the sunset everyday which is awesome.

My only remaining christmas chore is wrapping. Time to go to CVS and get a bunch of gift bags. My supply of recycled christmas stuff has dwindled into little that is useful.

We watched George Gently last night. Also started a series called How to Get Away With Murder. It's a legal mystery drama that has absolutely no basis in reality. I don't recall going to crime scenes when I was in law school. But amusing.
