Quick post as we are on our way to a funeral (DH's Aunt and Godmother).

Early evening we will meet younger DD and her BF for dinner. She is hoping he proposes tonight. I warned her that he might not want to do that with company. Boy, I sure hope it does happen in the next week.

Being north for 2 weeks is not relaxing. Lots of running around!

At least we will be close to home for most of the remaining time.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

I hope your DD gets a proposal soon too. We have some friends that got to the point where she thought it wasn't ever going to happen, and maybe she should move on. Turns out her DH had bought the ring weeks before, but was struggling with making the proposal special. Lots of pressure there, and I think even more now that there's social media. Our friends did manage to get engaged, and have been married 35 years. DH just casually asked me to marry him, and said he didn't have a ring, because he wanted me to help pick it out. Also happily married for 36 years without a big, splashy proposal.

I'm not going to work tomorrow because I have an Oncology check up. I'm still on the every six months plan, not sure when I get moved to yearly. So feeling kind of relaxed right now. :) I got a big quarterly project done today. Told myself I only have to do that 7 more times. I'm thinking of making a paper chain, sort of like an advent calendar, except the countdown would be to the very last time I have to write progress reports.

Also have a meeting with a person from The Teachers Retirement Association. They administer my pension plan. Hoping if there are any surprises, they're good ones, and not bad ones. I don't really anticipate either. It's pretty cut and dried.

Liz, my daughter had crazy weather in Boston, the wind actually blew out their living room window and knocked over their Christmas tree! Is it more moderated on the Cape, or are you getting hit too?

Weather here is uneventful. It's colder, but no big winds or storms. Looks like it will be a brown Christmas. I've had plenty of white Christmases, some exceedingly white, so this works for me. Others are disappointed, but what can you do? I will celebrate the lack of snow falling into my dress shoes on Christmas Eve.

It was a good day until the end! A little furniture got delivered and they took away most of the furniture in the garage!! My dad can park in there now. It's the best Christmas present! Kirby has been really good with my folks and they love him. He has ripped into their skin that tears easily. I bought my dad some of those thin gloves that go from knuckles (hoop over thumb) to above the elbow. Good for not getting cut and scratched by rose thorns gardening and puppy teeth and nails. I hope they work.

The bummer part is I now have a fever. I've had a dry cough for a month that I have thought was from gerd. But who knows now if this is a second thing on top? Or a random fever unrelated to my coughing. Boo. I might have a covid test around here somewhere, but when to try it?

I got the estimate from the scorpion sealers. $19k to $25k!! I about died. That's not happening. That's like $1000 per scorpion I've found. My interior designer is going to send me the name of who her friend used.

I think that's it for me. Be well everyone!

Good news your folks arrived safely! Hope your friends scorpion buster is not so pricey! Yikes!

$100 per scorpion seems rather high but IDK - if it really works, maybe?

I hope you feel better soon. Tough timing.
