Two more sleeps before we fly north to freeze. I am such a wimp when it comes to being cold these days. I had a light winter jacket on yesterday on a windy 60 degree day, LOL.

DD, I think you are correct that DH blames Justice for his sharing of food. He is darn cute and not aggressive in his begging. I had three beagles in my life all of whom would steal unattended food in a heartbeat (Justice never does that). All would beg when we ate except one who was trained to go into her bed whenever we sat at the table to eat. But the moment we stood up she would bound out.

We got all errands necessary prior to departure done yesterday. Late this afternoon I am having a small tattoo in memory of eldest DD recolored. I suspect it will be like getting it originally because it is super faded. Tomorrow DH and I are celebrating our Christmas here before we head north to do the same with our families.

I was reading about the new weight loss drugs like Wegovy this morning. One article said physicians are holding off on using them with children until further studies prove their safety in younger patients. And another study states that people who stop using it usually regain their weight ultimately so should plan to stay on it indefinitely. My PCP had told me that too. I am not sure that is true if it breaks bad habits and one stays true to a healthier way of eating but I think a lot people just let it suppress appetite and don't necessarily change their eating style. My two cents on the topic - I still wish I could try it.

Not much else on the agenda. Have a tingling Tuesday!

Another good Kirby day! He's getting so big! I should weigh him to see how big he's gotten. Edit to add: he's 16.4 pounds, so he's gained 3 since I got him.

Today I'm waiting on the appliance guy to put in a new part for my freezer. Later I have my board meeting, but it should be short.

I think that's it for me. Hope you all have a good day!

Growing fast! Any estimates on how big he will ultimately be?

I think usually around 75 pounds full grown. Ferg got to the high 80s, but that was when he couldn't take walks anymore...

Liz, my BIL had a sweet but naughty beagle who was notorious for raiding all food and non food items. The first time I stayed at their house (they were in California for about 2 years, with a guarantee every MN relative would visit) there was a huge checklist to secure the dog if you left the house. Close all bedroom doors. Close the door to the bedroom hallway, place a chair in front. Put dog in the kitchen, lock both kitchen pocket doors with a hook and eye latch installed specifically for the dog. All the cupboards had child safety locks. (Also handy during earthquakes). Despite all precautions, the dog managed to eat so.many.things. The ultimate: she swallowed a sock, requiring a very expensive surgery. After the surgery, the vet gave BIL back the sock. BIL sighed and said, and it was a gold tip ...

Go Kirby go! Grow up strong and healthy and become the magnificent golden you are destined to be.

What is this new youth serum you speak of Peps?

Diane, any more news from your brother?

Not a super eventful day. Got some things done at school, had a few laughs with some students, helped with a research project in the English classes I push into. These kids have no idea the tedium they avoid by having computer programs that generate MLA citations. (Or any citation!) Let alone being able to search databases on a computer. Imagine if they had to deal with the wonders The Periodical Index. How did we manage to find any information for our research or work?

More early morning meetings tomorrow, Thursday, and now one was added for Friday. 4 out of 5 mornings this week. Saturday morning will feel real good!

Almost all beagles are incredibly sweet but naughty in my experience LOL.

Remember all the time we had to spend in libraries when we were in school???

DD, Daxxify is a "peptide powered" frown line treatment. It lasts twice as long as Botox and does teh same thing - plumps a bit and numbs the muscle to prevent the appearance of more facial lines. I have between my brows done. I have been accused of having a resting "*****" face. The daxxify prevents me from furrowing my brow, which apparently I do when I am focused and evaluating things. Here's a link, if you'd like more info. https://www.daxxify.com/

On Friday I had my regular eating disorder counseling. Anxiety was rearing by the end of the session. I'm so done with all this "work". It sucks. I was told up front what a long and arduous process this would be, but lord almighty! I am so, so tired and worn out by all this. I would like to ostrich, get revision surgery, and "just do it". I'm not sure how worthwhile all this "work" is. I'm no thinner for it. Only thing that is truly different is I dont' beat myself up about it.

So glad Kirby is doing better! My pups are growing by the day.

LIz I hope the anticipated temps in MA aren't too shocking! I think you're supposed to get a warm up over the weekend so the temps will be in the 40s!

Not much else.

I am frozen at 65 these days so 40 will still feel frigid LOL. I will enjoy the fireplaces though.

I am thinking of foregoing having a laptop and just using my iPad - I rarely use the laptop now and it needs to be replaced. Very secure sites like banking won't work on the outdated browser which can't be upgraded anymore. If I do that I will get a keyboard to use with the iPad. I used to have a Bluetooth keyboard that worked with an older iPad. I wonder if it still would work with this newer iPad?
