Mobility! That truly is the key as we age I think. Finding something that you can do lifelong is critical as well like walking. I keep that as my core but look at anything else as a supplement because I figure most other activities will drop off as I get older. Of course I am on hiatus from essentially everything other than walking until I get my new shoulder. No yoga for me right now.

Speaking of shoulders, mine is waking up from the last cortisone injection though it is not nearly as bad as after the first one. I can get another injection anytime up until December 20 (3 months prior to surgery). So though it isn't that bad now I think I am going to schedule an injection at home on the 18th or 19th to help until March.

So incredibly helpful to have Peps advising us on our dogs. Good luck at the shows this weekend!

My blues are better today - I don't know what they were from yesterday. Usually I can look back and find some point in the past when something happened that made me sad but not yesterday.

Today will probably be our last visit to the beach club before we fly north on Thursday. When we come back they should have opened some of the areas which have been under renovation for the last year, including a large outdoor bar and enhanced seating for meals. We already have a reservation with visiting friends for New Years Eve there.

Have a satisfactory Saturday!

I'm glad your blues are fading!

The final count for yesterday was 7 cups of water and 31 pees (9 accidents). I'm waiting on the vet's office to call today to see if they want to do a urinalysis. He was fine overnight, which I'm not sure you'd expect if it was a UTI? Not sure. Maybe he's just drinking too much and needs to be regulated? We'll see. I'm thankful for Pep's input! I hope the dog shows go well this weekend!

It's sunny, windy, and cold today. It was 28 this morning only headed to 49. The heat is cranking.

That's all I have! Have a great weekend!

The vet's office called. They want me to only put out 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of water every 3-4 hours. He had 7 cups yesterday to go with his 31 pees! So, we'll give that a try and see how it goes... If he struggles, they want to see him. Otherwise she thought it could be just drinking because it's there and something to do.

Oh, good to have some clear direction how to proceed. Hope the "water schedule" helps Kirby out.

7 Cups is a lot of water for a little guy!

Liz, it's good to hear you can get one more cortisone shot to carry you through to surgery. A lot could change with your pain level as the current shot wears off. It would be awful to go 3 months without it if the pain suddenly did come roaring back.

The concert last night was lovely. It is held in a mega church, so there is a bit of a churchy vibe, but as a one time evangelical church girl, the culture is familiar. The commitment to production value and music quality is high. The Orchestra is made up of local musicians, many from the Minnesota Orchestra. The conductor was previously with MN Orchestra, he is now in Jacksonville. I was thinking, why is his name so familiar, he was never a principal conductor? Then I remembered, 12 years ago, when our daughter performed in the choir at this concert, she and her friends were all swooning over this guy. I texted daughter and she said , yes, she remembered, they all thought he looked like Wesley from Princess Bride, and their choir director kept having to ask them to focus, because they were all so gaga. Fun memory.

I cannot express how giddy I am at being released from hosting this Christmas Eve. Perhaps it was more of a mental burden than I knew. I still have to make almost all of Christmas Dinner to bring to my parents (my Dad is going to make the turkey, so we don't have to transport that) but much easier to deal with one event than 2.

Drizzly, on the verge of snowing here. I don't know if we will go out today as it gets kind of slick. DH has ordered almost all of our gifts for giving, so we don't have a lot of shopping to do. Feeling kind of chill today. :)

The question is, does he still look like Wesley from Princess Bride? Inconceivable!

Haha! Still a very good looking man, although I did not ever hear him say as you wish, so maybe his Wesley vibe is dimming.

A lot of people here stay in Florida for Christmas and their families often come after Christmas Day (none of the people here have living parents). I could see doing that at some point in the future but not yet. BTW, after the last 9 years of not hosting Christmas dinner we are doing it this year. Actually DS is doing it - I will just be trying to stow away cat stuff to make it look neat. SIL has hosted for the prior 9 after we did it for 20 years but she is undergoing radiation treatments the week before Christmas so we moved it (with her agreement).
