The sisters fly home today. We won't see them much as we have several appointments: 2 about home staging for sale and DH has a stress test this afternoon.
We had a nice dinner out last night except one sister never received a dinner (she ate some of her sister's). They had both ordered the same steak done medium and one came out perfect but the other was well-done. The replacement steak was completely rare so she just sent it back. I was annoyed that the restaurant which is a long-standing establishment didn't comp anything. They acted like not charging for the meal that she never received was a gracious act. Most places would have comped the dessert or similar. DS used to explain the thought-process when he was an executive chef.
I have been looking at videos about how to put the heavy-duty sling on and the advantages of an ice machine after surgery. I think the first few weeks will be spent in sweats in the house...
Time to get Justice out for a walk prior to our first meeting. Have a thoughtful Thursday!

The internet is watching. I've never heard of the sheets Diane mentioned yesterday, didn't look them up when she mentioned them and had an ad for them on Instagram this morning.
This morning was desensitizing Kirby to the vacuum (ha, Kirby vacuum, which I'd never heard of but have had at least 4 people bring up!). I let it run on the far side of the room and threw treats around the room getting closer to it. After letting it run idle for about 20 minutes and him seeming fine, I finally vacuumed after too long! Success!
We have his training class this afternoon, so I need a shower at some point.
My food has been heavily carb intensive. Comfort in a time of puppy turmoil, I suppose. I am craving protein now after too long without much.
Aside from that, not much to report... Wishing you all a good day!
I had never heard of those sheets either so had to look them up. I'm sure I will see an ad in FB LOL.
Liz, I was a head waiter and restaurant manager during my 20s at an extremely busy theatre district restaurant. Under my watch, at the very least, dessert would have been comped. Frankly, if I had been able to identify your party as "regulars" I would have comped the entire tab. Sending the same food back twice is absolutely unacceptable. I think customer service has changed a lot in the past 30 years.
Excellent workout yesterday, but I really do need to start working on more flexibility. I hate that my hamstrings are so tight, but that also makes exercises that encourage hip flexibility all that much harder to do.
Scale was a bit kinder today.
Dog shows this weekend. I am not as prepared as I would like to be. There will be some last minute trimming tonight and tomorrow.
We got the southern end of Diane S's rain yesterday. There was a real downpour for about 15 minutes around 5:30. I enjoyed the downpour because I was working out outside under a 3 sided structure. It is heated, but also really nice to have the fresh crisp air while exerting myself!
Puppies are eating solid food - well, mush at least. This is such an easy, personable bunch of pups. I'm going to be really sad to see them go. Luckily, one of the girls will stay with me. I need to start thinking of a name.
Adios, muchachas!
DH made a nice little dinner tonight, a quiche and salad (okay I told him what Deli to get it at, but he's the one who drove over there). He set the table, lit candles, and put on Christmas music. A balm to the soul after a busy, tumultuous day.
Our Christmas Eve plans have solidified. My BIL invited us over for brunch at 11:30am. We'll visit with them for a bit, come home and relax, go to church at 4pm and then just our family out to dinner after church. Reservations completed. I feel so relaxed just thinking about it.
Glad the lizard is out, the scale is playing nice, and things are moving forward for Liz, who will become Bionic Liz in March. Watch out world when her shoulder is fully repaired!
