Lost my post! I hate how finicky this app is!
Peps, I haven't learned his tell yet. He fakes me out by sniffing the ground, only to have a seat when he finds a good spot. I can see my hopes of early potty training were a fairytale! I know he'll learn eventually. Thankfully he's cute. And also sleeping longer during the night. Baby steps.
The landscapers came and replaced all the trees that died this summer. And since he ordered one that was wrong, I got that one for free! He also put in the pop up sprinkler to rinse the grass pad when it's needed. For now, I'm leaving the scent to encourage Kirby. The appliance guy also came and defrosted the freezer coils. He ordered the new controller for it and it's under warranty because it was replaced less than a year ago. Still had to pay for the service call and the defrost ($300+) and will pay for the service call to install it. Nothing is a bargain these days!
I have a headache and am so tired! Happy not to have anything on the schedule today.
Take care all!
Puppies are like small children. Their cuteness (and loving) helps one to forgive their transgressions.
Sorry for the delay in posting. LONG day yesterday and I have been moving slow this morning. I didn't get home until midnight yesterday.
Anyway, all went smoothly yesterday and the day before. All transitions were smooth (finding transportation and offices). I am scheduled to have a reverse shoulder replacement on March 20. That will be after our anniversary/my birthday. And I will be out of the sling after 6 very long weeks just prior to the wedding celebration for my stepson and his new wife. Plus I can finish the bocce season LOL. I will probably be in Massachusetts for about 2 weeks, returning to Florida at the beginning of April after my 10 day postop visit. Depending on when formal PT begins I may start it in Florida.
So that's the big news! DH's sisters are spending their last full day here shopping and DH just played golf today for the first time since his pacemaker implantation.
The rest of this week will be filled with preparation for staging the old house for its new listing in a couple of weeks.
Not much else to report. Have a winning Wednesday!
Thanks for the update Liz. Glad you are going to get a new shoulder!!!! While the thought of surgery and being laid up for a while may be unpleasant, just think how great you'll feel once you're all healed and feeling great with your bionic part!
CC, puppy rearing is exhausting - especially if you are not used to doing it regularly. For me it's not a big deal. For most everyone else, it's a monumental task. Fear not! It will be over all too soon and then you'll miss the puppy days. LOL! BTW, I have heard Goldens, in general, are not great at early potty training. From what I've heard they start to really "get it" at around 14 weeks.
Not much has changed with me since my late night post yesterday, so I'll just wish everyone well!
Greetings all
It's been pouring rain here, hence I am staying home. These days I don't even own a waterproof coat. Probably should get one. Used to have a nice one from Lands End. Must order.
Speaking of orders I just ordered new quick zip sheets. DH managed to tear a hole in his. What a crappy web site they have. I finally found a phone number to call in my order as it hung up on the site. Turns out they were out of my first choice color but web site could not handle it. I get anxious when I have to go on line to do some report or purchase as they so often fail or run you in circles. ***** du jour.
DD and Liz I got mixed up about the marriage of step son! Sorry I mis posted. Liz I am glad you are getting a new shoulder. No fun but it will be worth it. As a veteran of multiple hand surgeries, I can tell you to get sweat pants and step in shoes, arrange to go to beauty salon to get your hair washed, and get a lot of big squishy pillows. Wishing you the best.
CC glad you got new trees. Do they need a lot of immediate care? Worth it to have them. And yeah Kirby is little. And cute. And fun. Hope the headache passes.
Chicken dinner last night was not so good. I rinsed all the sauce off the so called chicken marsala and then heated it in olive oil. Edible but not great. The rest of that chicken is going to dog food. Start over tonight.
Jeez another mass shooting. Another day in America.
Not much else. I have some banking to do. Lots of other chores I could do. Or not.

CC glad you have a day to just hang out while you're not feeling so great. Hate those all day tired headachey days when there are obligations to attend to.
Diane I wish my son was the one getting married (to someone lovely of course) only because he tells us that's what he wants. He's my Rastafarian Buddhist, but also, as his sister lovingly declares: a square :) He's paid off his student loans, has saved for a down payment, and is tentatively house shopping. He wants to get two cats. He has a good job. He's kind, smart, funny and good looking. It's bound to happen, no?
Liz, I understand what you're saying about the Wegovy. It actually might be worth paying for it out of pocket if it didn't take so many months to get up to the higher dose. Although some people do lose on the lower doses. I seem to be losing about the same on any dose. DHs losses picked up when he got to a higher dose. So I'm grateful.
Still don't think I'm going to get skinny though. I am very, very close to pre Tomaxifen weight. But that's still 25 pounds from my lowest. I don't know if I have it in me to get there, or even if I did, stay there. But right now, I'm a little over a 100 pounds less than when I started my WLS journey. That feels like a big accomplishment. It's a significant amount to keep off for almost 12 years.
I'm doing my short tai chi program in the evening. Good stretching and balance practice. I turn the volume off the video (I don't need to hear the instructions anymore) and put some classical music on my phone. It's a nice way to wrap up the day.
