Our home is in quarantine, though DH is improved (only has cold symptoms which are receding), and I still feel fine. To clarify Medicare/prescription coverage, testing on-site (at CVS drive-through or whatever) is covered. It is the at-home tests which aren't. I only have one of the latter left. To check repeatedly I would rather use an at-home version (not keep having to go somewhere to do it).

The SILs are still coming tomorrow. DH will just quarantine through Thursday (5 days after onset). Hopefully I don't get it but at most there will be 1.5 days when we are both out of commission. The SILs have been here several times before and will have a car so they can be on their own for a bit if necessary.

Not much on the agenda with DH out of commission. I will take Justice for his long walk as usual this morning once it warms up enough (it was 54 when we walked at 7:30).

We will have leftover meatloaf for dinner. I made a relatively healthy one out of ground turkey, oatmeal, eggs, diced tomatoes and seasoning yesterday which DH really liked. I don't like the old-fashioned dense version made with hamburger and ketchup/BBQ sauce so this is a big improvement for me.

Have a tippy Tuesday!

Ever so slightly better with the potty accidents today. Hopefully every day sees some improvements! He's napping hard now after a big zoomie session.

I thought I had a board meeting today, but I guess we're skipping this month. Woohoo! Like a gift.

My neighbor came by and met the puppy this morning. and otherwise, every day looks like the last!

Greetings all

Another bright sunny day here. The bay was a million different colors. So lovely.

I drive past the bay on the way to scrabble. Played miserably today though I got close to defeating The Shark. And I did get 66 points from playing "zoos" on the triple.

Liz sorry you are quarantined. No fun. Hope DH recovers soon. Meatloaf sounds good. I make it with oatmeal too. Also lots of veggies,. Indeed a comforting treat.

Bought a pot roast today so I will make that. Got my usual Tuesday cheeseburger after scrabble which is two meals for me.

CC good luck with potty training. Having an older dog matters hugely in training a dog. I did not do anything with Poppy. She just followed Tesla around. Tesla took a little more work but she got it suddenly in one day. And yeah, you have to sort of hazard proof for puppies. Our house was all fenced and gated off when we had the herd. Had to move cookbooks from the lower shelf because they chewed them up. Ditto the recycling.

DH mowed the front yard today. Good thing as we were starting to look like a pasture.

Signs of Christmas are all around. Must get organized. Instead I think I will take a nap.

Dementia rears its ugly head once again. My dad was uncontrollably crying with my brother today because he is convinced he awakened around 3 am to someone touching his genitalia. Dad can't remember seeing anyone, but he heard a voice, but is unable to say it was a male or female voice he heard. I am guessing he thinks it was a male. Now, he is also certain that he does not urinate and wet his underwear while he sleeps, but the molester is also coming and filling his Depends with liquid while he sleeps. He sees his PT and PCP today, so I'm hoping my brother will let the PCP know about this.

My dad's HMO is not really great about offering help and guidance with dementia. He doesn't even have a specialist assigned to him. We can't even get a doctor to validate that he is incapable of handling his finances. That makes no sense to me.... UGH.... I think at this point he needs to be on some type of anti anxiety medicine at the least. Not so sure we are going to be able to manage that either! I don't know why there is no real help available for him within his HMO.

Food has been fine. Doing well on reducing the sugar intake. Puppies are doing well. Fat and happy.

So sorry about your Dad, Devon. Dementia is such a cruel disease. Are there any dementia support groups in your area that might have people who can help you navigate the parts the HMO is making hard?

So sorry for you and your Dad and your brother. Aging is hard enough, why would the HMO make it harder... CC , good advice.

I am so sorry that your Dad is going downhill so fast. Keep in mind that the only way to reduce this is likely to be via medications that could dull him significantly. Hopefully you have a physician who knows how to fine tune things. We never found one. Not easy to see them either way (distressed or dulled out).

Sounds like you might avoid Covid Liz, at least for this round. And your sister in laws have all the info they need to make their choice, so full steam ahead.

Kirby is certainly all puppy! What an adorable little scamp. Enjoy all the cuteness between yawning and longing for a nap.

Another cold, cold morning. Why does this surprise me. It's December this weekend. The ice crystals in the air are making a beautiful ring around the moon tonight.

More meetings added to my calendar this week, one today after school, one before and after, Both tomorrow and Thursday. They can't schedule any Friday, because I've already blocked my calendar so I can attend the funeral for SIL's father.

DH is out, so I had a bit of leftover lasagna for dinner. It would be a high calorie meal if I ate normal portions, but basically I manage 3-4 bites and I'm done. DH doesn't like left overs beyond one day, so it's up to me. At this rate, I'll be eating lasagna until Christmas. :)

Funny how some people are with leftovers. I have known people who never eat them (since I dislike cooking that would be a problem for me). I like leftovers as long as they still taste good (though if there is a lot I may freeze it in individual size portions to eat later so I don't get sick of whatever it is).
