Liz is likely ready for cruising!

I was awake at 5:30 and starting my pre-trip anxiety for tomorrow. I texted the breeder asking for what I need to allow for bringing back with me besides the puppy and what she suggests I bring. I don't want to double up and the airline says just the dog carrier and a personal item, so I don't want to have a bunch of stuff in a bag that I don't have a way to get home. I think I may bring a carry on suitcase that's mostly empty that I can fill and check if needed.

I just looked at my watch to see the temperature and it said it's raining. I thought, no it isn't, then looked outside and sure enough. When the computers know more than the people...

Just turned on the in-floor heating. Looks like 50s and 60s for a while with a day in the 40s in there. Could winter finally be arriving? We'd already had snow by this date last year. Perhaps the El Nino predictors were right and this winter will be warmer and wetter here.

Aside from these ramblings, there's nothing else going on. Just silicone sprayed the back screen slider. It was giving fingernails on a chalkboard vibes. I talked to my dad and his wife yesterday for the first time in a while and they are happy, healthy, and social butterflies. It's a relief to hear! They are very excited for the puppy who still doesn't have a name... Current list:

Moose, Wrigley, Ollie, Stanley, Hoover, Otis, Barney, Sidney, Teddy, Toby, Jasper, Miles, Truman, Dudley, Clifford, Peanut, Baxter, Digby, Scooter, Duffy, Kirby

Have a great day, all!

I can see why its hard to pick puppy's name, you have a lot of good choices!

It's warmer here than usual too, but also dry. Here comes itchy winter skin.

Last night we watched the Lady Bird Diaries. (Hulu). They played the actual recordings she made with historic footage. Interesting look back at a turbulent time.

DH is down in the kitchen making bacon. Life is good. :)

One day to Moose, Wrigley, Ollie, Stanley, Hoover, Otis, Barney, Sidney, Teddy, Toby, Jasper, Miles, Truman, Dudley, Clifford, Peanut, Baxter, Digby, Scooter, Duffy, or Kirby. I agree with Ocean Diane that the name on this list that fits him best will become apparent once you meet him and get to know him.

We are on the ship. Very smooth process getting on but now the hoards have arrived (we had an early boarding option). Very nice room and balcony.

Also an exciting and long awaited start to the day: we are under a purchase and sale agreement for DH's former home. It took 6 months and it is being sold for less than originally hoped for but the next door neighbor staying in her sisters house is buying it. All cash so hopefully closing by the end of the year. DH has been incredibly stressed over it not selling so he is extremely relieved.

Time to explore (we just finished unpacking). Have a stupendous Sunday!

Greetings all

Early check in as we have an event later today. This guy always plans his events with a start and finish time. 4 to 6. Then at about 10 minutes before the "finish" time he goes around and picks up everyone's plate and glasses. It's like telling everyone to get lost. Anybody think this is weird? Yeah sometimes events must have limits but this is an afternoon with birthday cake. Not like any of us old people have anywhere to go.

So we got the power back after about two hours last night. Just enough to watch our team blow it in the last quarter. Lost in overtime. But DH had scurried around and brought in the big batteries so we could run the fridge, toaster oven, and a light or two. Of course we cant find all the flashlights hidden around here. There was a house fire near here that I fear had something to do with the outage.

CC we cant wait to hear about the puppy. Ocean Diane is right - you will know his name when you meet him. All the choices are good. Hope the travel is safe and goes smoothly. Glad your folks are enjoying life.

Liz on a cruise! How grand. Sounds like the schlepping must have been ok. I assume you are doing Caribbean. Get a drink with an umbrella for us!

The sun is out big today after last night's storm. The storm that let up just as soon as the power was out.

We have been watching the new season of The Crown. Last two episodes have focused on Diana and Dody. Dody's daddy is made out to be the bad guy. We are also watching a series "Murder at the End of the World" or something like that. A very quirky murder mystery.

Lots of business/paper stuff to be done next week. When I make a list it ends up not looking so bad. Lists rock.

LOL on start and end time for the party. Lights on! Time for everybody to get out!

Schlepping onto the ship was super simple and took no time at all. AND parking was in a lot right next to where we got on the ship in the front row! Totally stress free except that DH kept wanting to carry things (he has a 5 pound limit). His grandson helped with the heaviest bags.
