Paul started having some urinary incontinence 15 months before he passed away. I would say it was constant by about 6 months prior to his death. That's when the constant wetting and leaking on sheets every night started. He always said it wasn't him and was amazed that he had to be cleaned up. Within a couple of months he didn't really seem to realize that it was happening but then the other kind of incontinence started. He also said it wasn't him. Not all dementia patients have the latter. We met with his neurologist around the time this was starting. At that appointment the neurologist gave me a lot of advice about finding an assisted living facility. I suspect he knew that Paul's time was very limited.

It is all so sad and depressing at the time but best to make light of it.

Greetings all

Just washed my hair and am now working very hard to get it dry. Like air dry. Easier said than done in a humid climate. I know winter is coming because I am much more sensitive to the back slider being open. It's open virtually all summer long but not now and it's an adjustment for the dogs. I am not sure if our furnace has been on yet this year but I have totally switched to flannel nightgowns for the season. Sleepwear is much more seasonal than other clothing around here.

So we are preparing for the ritual humiliation of our football team later this afternoon. I wish they would win but don't get too upset if they lose. Tee Tee CC Colorado has really been on a streaK! Everyone in Nebraska yuks it up over that.

Liz sounds like loads of wonderful family news! Lots to celebrate. Good partners for kids and potential grand kids. Yay and fun.

Peps sorry you dad has reached the stage he has. Guess that just goes with the territory. Not sure why aging has to inflict indignities but there it is. Hope he is comfortable and in good spirits. Actually I hope that for everybody.

DD I have this image of your DH with a sparkly tree and sparkly Carpenters music. It's all so glittery! Makes me think it's time to get out our fiber optic tree which we have had for 20 years. Talk about sparkly.

There are Christmas yard decorations up in some places here and the Christmas store at the hardware store is open. I am not ready for this!!! All of a sudden there is too much to do! There is a plethora of craft fairs coming around here that my friends participate in and I feel obligated to show up.

Tomorrow we go for a birthday party for a new friend. She is the new partner of our 80 year old friend whose wife died a year or to ago. She seems very nice and was here for Halloween. She admired my princess bush plant so I bought one for her. They just rented a little house not far from here.

Not much else. DH brought home a pepperoni pizza from the new place. He says it's the best he has ever had. I will try it tonight. I like the recipe . Open box, insert in microwave.

Well CC we are all so excited for the Peanut puppy. Can't wait to hear more.

I have a new pair of Bombas slippers. So warm and cozy. The older you get the more creature comforts matter.
