Happy Friday! I know to those who no longer work, Friday is just another day, but to this teacher man Fridays are still a very welcomed day of the week! LOL!
I stayed off the scale again today. Not intentionally, but rather subconsciously. I have been feeling very "unwell" (not sick) of late. I'm assuming it has to do with being tired and my diet, which has become too high in refined foods.
Liz, have a great time on the cruise.
CC, how many days for the "peanut" to arrive?
DD, how lovely for you to have both kiddos at home for Thanksgiving!!!! Must make your mom heart sing.
Diane S. enjoy your CA north coast weather while you can. It's supposed to get gloomy over the next weeks.
I get on the scale way less frequently than I should. Old ostrich behavior.
DH dropped the heart monitor results off with the cardiologist to discuss when we get back from the cruise. He is holding off on the new medication for now especially since we will be away for the next week and a half.
We are packed and just dropped Justice off at his doggie "country club". We have a couple of errands to do, will eat lunch, then we are off to Fort Lauderdale.
We also booked a short trip as a Christmas gift to each other at the end of January to Sedona for 2 nights and Las Vegas to meet friends for 3 nights. More on that later.
Have a fine Friday!
on 11/17/23 9:50 am
Liz is coming to Sedona!!
"The peanut" comes home Monday after a very long day of travel. My flight leaves at 10 something (so leaving the house around 6:30), get into IND at 3:50, leave at 6:20 for a 4 hour flight, back to PHX at 8 something, home close to 11. Ugh. But it'll be over. I need to figure out when to feed the puppy. I read they should fly on a near empty stomach. Do I feed him in the car when we get to the airport then drive the 2+ hours home? Wait to feed him until we get home? That seems like an awfully long time to wait... Ferg used to get pukey when he was hungry. So pukey from travel or pukey from hunger? Pick your pukey. Dog experts, chime in please!
I was supported to get my hair colored today, but my hair person is under the weather. So hopefully she can do it this weekend. I may go to Costco today instead.
The "puppy jail" is set up in my living room. I just need a few velcro straps to secure the fence to the crate. It takes up a lot of room, but it's temporary, I can see him, and it can move as it makes sense.
Off to get ready. Day's awastin'.
Good question on when to feed a puppy when traveling. So exciting that it is only a few days off!
Hopefully you will be in Sedona when we are? I would love to see you and maybe "the peanut"?
We will be at the Sunset Chateau on January 28 and 29. We love Sedona and I was hoping you would be there!
Just read Peps reply - that is what they had us do with the puppies we transported from Aruba. Make sure you have lots of wipes/paper towels in case there is a puke or other incident (and something clean to line the bag if it gets messed). One of those puppies from Aruba had one but the puppy organization had provided everything needed to clean up as best I could.
Greetings all
Oops, missed yesterday. I worked at the gallery and even though it was not that busy it makes me tired. Getting home just as it gets dark triggers that tired feeling plus the rush of coming home after "work" to feed dogs and deal with DH. I understand why my mom used to want us kids to have eaten dinner before she got home. So she could eat in peace. My grandmother used to have dinner ready at 4 pm.
Yay CC looking forward to the Peanut chronicles. What Peps says sounds good. I gave our pup who went to Mexico a piece of moose antler to chew on during the flights. Lots of baby wipes sounds like a good idea and modest food. Less to barf up. Safe travels.
Peps hope the hives have subsided. Not fun. Does claritin work for that or just Benadryl? I just used a nose spray on top of claritin for my sinus allergies but it seems hopeless. Anyway, hope you feel better. Feeling unwell might be an age thing.
So I am still getting my mini walk in every day. Yesterday I walked in circles in the gallery. Not bad especially with loud Motown music. Yep we have a sunny day today and it's calm. The little town of Trinidad, fishing village, is preparing for the holiday boat parade where the boats in the harbor are lit up. Then they put the santa boat on a trailer and parade it around town lit up.
Liz enjoy the cruise. Glad DH is not starting a new med. And that you get to go to Sedona. Fun.
DH is out to lunch at a new place so we will see what he brings home. And I get the house to myself and can gorge on news. Not sure if I will get to the studio day. Fridays have a new meaning now as its firing day and the studio is usually busy.
DD enjoy your Thanksgiving holidays. So you have to cook? Easiest way to make a turkey is one of those bake bags. Around here dope growers buy those by the dozen.
My climbing rose is blooming. It missed the memo that its late november.
Cheers. Diane S
I had to look up what a bake bag is. An oven bag correct? I never heard of cooking a Turkey that way. Luckily I don't have to cook one LOL.
