Windy, windy, windy! It feels like a tropical storm! An extremely large potted plant was knocked over downstairs but is too heavy for me to upright. Justice keeps wanting to go out but doesn't want to stay if there is rain involved. We had heavy rain last night but this morning it is just like someone is spitting.
Somewhat disturbing day yesterday in that DH had an appointment with his PCP who wants him on a heart medication for something else shown on the temporary monitor he had before pacemaker insertion. It may be needed but we think the cardiologist should be the one looking at the whole picture and recommending what is required. It doesn't seem to be well coordinated.
Today we have nothing on the schedule other than doing laundry and packing for the next 8 days. We will be in Fort Lauderdale on Friday and Saturday, then on the cruise (departing from Fort Lauderdale) Sunday to Saturday. I need to get everything in one large suitcase but I can expand it since there is no weight limit ;)
I was just assessing my shoulder in light of the discussion yesterday on cortisone injections. At this point after the first injection I was in agony and using a sling at least part of the time. This time after the second injection it is starting to feel a bit less comfortable doing things but is still pretty good. I had thought the PT the first time had aggravated it and must have been correct. It somewhat colors my anxiousness to see a surgeon in December but I guess I should still see what he recommends.
Have a terrific Thursday!
I have hives, dammit! Every several years I seem to go through a bout of hives. Dammit, dammit, dammit! It's all red and hot in the "underwear area" - especially along where the band sits. I also have hives on the inside of my elbows. Of course, now that I know I have hives, every little sensation leads to itchiness! UGH.... I won't take a Benadryl during the school day. Last time I did that I could barely function because I got so drowsy!
We got a little rain here yesterday, too! We have broken clouds this morning with sun and clean air. Rain is predicted for later today. I don't mind rain like this. It's when it rains for days on end that I dread!
Liz, I hope DH can resolve the med issue ASAP! Sometimes not a good thing to have more than a single cook in the kitchen!
CC, puppy preparations.... So exciting.... I think you remember, no grain free foods, right? Because of the Victor recall, I've been researching foods and ingredients. If you are looking for a good puppy food I really like the ingredients of Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy food(can get through Chewy.com). I'll be using it for this litter when I wean them. NO LEGUMES! Huge plus for me.
Had a decent workout yesterday. I always feel so good when I'm done. The endorphin kick from working out is really quite something. I only wi**** lasted a bit longer. LOL....
Did not bother to get on the scale today. At the moment it seems pointless.
Not much going on today - teaching, doing PT with my dad, running a few errands after school. Maybe I'll even get a few things accomplished around the house.

Absolutely! After Ferg developing nutritionally caused dilated cardiomyopathy (and thousands upon thousands upon thousands spent on years of heart medication) I got a crash course in canine nutrition. I am following the recommendations from the Golden Retriever Lifetime Study out of UC Davis to stick with WSAVA guideline adherent food. Which currently means Purina, Royal Canin, Hill's Science Diet, Eukanuba or Iams. The puppy has been on Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb and Rice. I would like to try Royal Canin Golden Retriever Puppy, but will make a very slow transition!

My house looks like a pet store exploded! Toys, beds, chews, crates, food, bowls, wipes, Nature's Miracle, fencing... Now that I have my plane ticket and know I'm flying American, I realized their cabin kennel requirements say the bag needs mesh on at least 3 sides. My TSA approved bag has mesh on 2 sides, with fold out mesh "patios" on the other sides, but there would be no room to open those on the plane. I don't want to find out at the IND airport that it's not okay, so I ordered a new one. I'm irritated the first one is past the return window. I guess it's a donation to the humane society. I did get a puppy backpack for getting out of the house and socializing without being on the ground. I just couldn't do a stroller. I have rolled my eyes too many times at people pushing dogs, cats, rabbits, etc in strollers!
I got the family room crate assembled. It's huge! But looks like a nice one.
I think a walk this morning. It's partly cloudy (rainish clouds with no rain) and cool. My favorite weather!
Sending good thoughts to your DH, Liz...
Puppy prep! I know it is better to be safe on the travel bag but they usually don't even look at it when I travel other than eyeballing the dimensions. I know what you mean about strollers. I have one I used to keep in my car in case I had to stop at a store on the way back from an excursion and it was too hot to leave Justice in the car but I never have used it. DH thinks they are ridiculous.
Peps, the hives sound miserable. I'd call in sick, take a Benadryl, and rest. I'm intrigued by what Zytec is doing for CC...
Yes, Liz, the heart medication thing is a dilemma. The cardiologist may have reasons why he didn't prescribe this medication yet., or ever will. When does DH have a follow up?
Pets in strollers is a bridge too far for me also. My cousin did enjoy strolling her rabbit around, but its not for me. When I had young cats, I had harnesses and leashes, but I didn't take them for walks, it was so they could be with us in the yard. When they were oldet, and not as likely to take off, I used to take them outside to sit with me, but never in a stroller.
Today I had an observation, and I thought, finally someone will see how I suffer. Instead, they were really pretty cooperative. Everyday is a surprise.
DH has meatloaf in the oven. It's starting to smell delicious!
