Still windy here but otherwise pleasant. DH is still very sore so isn't comfortable walking or driving. I don't think he expected it but based on reading individual people's real experiences online it is quite normal. It appears that the medical literature stating there will only be 2 days of discomfort are not exactly correct for most.

But yesterday we did take a ride to the next major town and had lunch at a place DH likes, followed by a 2 hour nap. Today we are going to try going to the Art in the Park downtown.

And I did cook again last night. Another new lower calorie/higher protein recipe. DH liked it but it was a lot of work. I probably won't make it again but at least we have lots of leftovers for this week.

Time to put the finishing touches on the chest I painted, then move it into place.

Have a super Sunday!

Getting ready to go out on an easy hike. Probably not going out to do much today given weekend crowds, but that's okay!

More smoke this morning. I've had enough!

Greetings all

Oops, missed yesterday. I worked at the gallery until 5 and then brought home a pizza to watch football. Our team lost by just a bit and there was some terrible officiating. Serious fouls not called. Oh well.

I was sick of pepperoni so I brought home a different pizza blend. DH does not like it. Dang. The whole purpose of pizza is so I don't have to cook for him. Oh well. I will eat it one slice at a time.

Liz glad DH can get out and about but sorry he is still sore. Guess there is no such thing as normal. Don't let him over do it!

CC smoke is no fun. How much longer are they going to burn? Happens around here too but not so bad. Seems like thats part of living in the west. I don't remember ever having any burns in Nebraska. Of course, everything outside of the city was farm land.

So this morning I am busying myself with financial stuff. Some for the gallery and some for me. Some for the studio. I have to start taking retirement plan distributions this year so I need to go see the accountant. I think I can calculate them myself but would rather have some assurances from her. And the gallery has to scurry around to not have taxable income so we need to make sure we spend what we need to.

We started a new series "All the Light we Cannot See". The story is interesting but the acting is mediocre. But we will likely continue.

I am going to go to the studio here in a bit as I sold three items at the gallery yesterday and I am short of stuff again. Then a store trip is needed so dogs can have hamburger. It's overcast and calm here. Almost spooky calm like before a storm...

We finished All The Light We cannot See. I really liked it, but I loved the book. Look up the lead actress. She is AMAZING in real life. Blind, graduated from the University of Rhode Island with three majors - philosophy, communication studies and political science - and minors in ancient Greek language and rhetoric. Received her masters in ancient rhetoric from Royal Holloway, University of London on a Fulbright Scholarship. Began her doctoral studies in ancient rhetoric at Penn State, before began to doubt her career path...one smart cookie! And this was her first audition/acting role.

Did you read All the Light We Cannot See? I read it several years ago, and it still is with me. So lyrical. Highly recommend, if not my favorite book of all time, absolutely in the top 5.

Back from a full weekend. Aussie sister and I got to my parents house Friday around 2pm. Sis went to a birthday party for a high school friend and spent the night. My Mom can't go anywhere easily, so we spent the weekend pretty much in the family room. My Mom did okay, she wasn't too maudlin, but she sure remembers things differently when she starts reminiscing.

We got home around 4pm , and went to a birthday party for DH's BFF. Lots of fun. But now I am very tired. Luckily tomorrow is a workshop day, so no students. Time for bed!
