Still windy but Justice is walking on the ground today LOL. The wind was howling yesterday afternoon - we had to close the outside sliders on the lanai and the inside ones between the lanai and the house to stop the whistling through the doors. Felt like a hurricane approaching!
Last night I made a recipe that was supposedly lighter in calories but I feel like there was something off about it - too much flour I think. I need to find the recipe and see if there is a correction (I had taken screenshots of it on FB).
We leave for DH's pacemaker implantation in a little over an hour. He is clearly nervous though he won't admit it as he has been awake since 4 am and is rather cranky. His eldest daughter reached out to me to provide updates today and to ask some questions as he didn't supply much information to them. With DH's permission I provided a bit more background. He tends to downplay things at times so that was making them more nervous than potentially necessary. My DS sent a note to DH this morning as well as all of DH's children.
Time to get myself presentable for the day. Have a terrific Thursday!
Good on the kids for sending notes. DH leaves for his procedure knowing he is important to them all. Has he had much medical treatment on this level? When I was having my first surgery to remove an ovary (which turned into taking everything, my whole reproductive system was gone when I woke up!) I was terrified of anesthesia. 3 surgeries later, its not so intimidating.
Aussie sister actually landed a little early last night, so we were back at home around 9:30pm. I got to bed a little later than usual, but not too much.
I'm so glad to not be going to work tomorrow. And Monday and Tuesday we have a grading day and a professional development day. Normally two days in a row without students gets a little boring, but this year is the complete opposite of boring, so a break from the drama will be nice.
In a little while we leave for Pub Night at our area art center. We went last month, and enjoyed it. Very much looking forward to it this evening.
Greetings all
It has rained most of the day. Glad it wasn't on Halloween. I am feeling more like my usual self. Not much going on- paying taxes and doing banking errands. I had to get a bunch of petty cash small bills for the gallery. Spent some time at the studio. I fear our new co director is stressing out too much over details. Hope it calms down. It will be.
Liz hope the pacemaker installation went well. Not sure how complex this procedure is but it's certainly common. Some men dont' want to look fearful so they suck it up. Wishing you both an easy event and quick recovery. Sounds like DH may need some low energy activities like cards or watching old movies or vintage sports events. Glad you could do the communicating too. Its important.
DD hope you are having a pleasant time with aussie sister. Relax and enjoy.
Peps is getting puppies today. We want puppies.
I have been eating cold cuts for lunch. No bread. It's actually pretty satisfying with just a bit of mayo. Well worth the cost of good quality meats.
We have continued to watch "Bodies" but I don't much like it any more. Too far into the realm of science fiction. Sooner or later they all get around to time travel.

2 boys, 4 girls....
All went well. Smaller litter than anticipated, but good that we scheduled the c section. She had adhesions on her uterus that had stuck to the abdomen wall. Might have been very hard for her to deliver the last two pups. The vet had to release the uterus just to do the section.
Pups are all good weight and mama is finally resting comfortably with her brood.
