Wow! November already and we end daylight savings time this weekend. Time sure marches on.
Today is busy as DH is having the pacemaker implanted late tomorrow morning. He has blood tests and an echocardiogram today to ensure that all other causes are ruled out and he is otherwise healthy. Though being given marching orders to stay quiet until it was done wasn't thrilling it seemed like it got scheduled faster than expected. DH called the health professional he most trusted to discuss it and she assured him that this was best as his heart rate is low enough to warrant the speed. So strange that he only had minor symptoms, which the cardiologist said probably was likely because DH is otherwise fairly fit and active.
So the next few days are sort of run-around days as I am the designated driver and dog walker. Time to get Justice out and about in the extremely windy weather we are having. I have visions of him flying about in the wind like a balloon LOL.
Have a winning Wednesday!

Today is "get the house ready for guests" day. My friend and her husband are coming Friday, but I have a hike tomorrow and am trying not to leave everything to the very very last minute. (Only a procrastinator would think one day early when she's had a month and a half to set things back where they should be is "not leaving everything until the last minute")
I managed to get two big stuffed chairs to my living room from the other end of the house so we'd have something to sit on, since they took away a lot of furniture for recovering and it won't be back for a while. Hooray for furniture dollies left behind by the workmen!
Does anyone else start doing little projects that have been ignored for a while when they should be doing things that need to be done by a deadline? Last night I decided the rubber gasket on my front loader really needed to be cleaned. What a gross task! I should have been getting my guest rooms back together after the construction work, but no...
Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day!
It's not procrastinating, it's prioritizing! Though the rubber gasket was a distraction (maybe subconsciously to delay the required tasks?).
Greetings from Halloween Central
Last night was epic here on Little Pond Street. We counted 526 kids with our little clicker. Some were repeats but who cares. At times the stream of kids up and down the walk was a traffic jam. There were a few kids in wheel chairs and parents with kids in strollers, all adding to the congestion. Quite a night. DH and I are exhausted. We had 9 guests and dinner was the deli tray and veggies but there is a ton left over. I sent some home with guests. Guess what we are eating for the next 3 days? There is lots of the veggie tray left too so maybe I will make veggie soup.
One good friend arrived using a walker. She has apparently fallen several times in recent weeks. We didn't get to talk much as I was busy handing out candy and doing my front door stand up routine so I will call today. I think she needs some PT to help with balance
One guest brought a kit for a chocolate cookie haunted house so they put it together. It's still here. I had visions of the dogs getting on the table in the night and eating it but it didn't happen. Wish I could take it to a pre school but I doubt anyone would take it.
Great kids costumes. Everyone was really into it. Unicorns, Wednesday, all kinds of spooks and super heroes and fuzzy creatures. And princesses. The parents walking with the kids were dressed up too. We finally shut the door and turned out lights at 8:30 as I was too tired to be on further duty. But I could see out the window lots of people going up and down the street.
So it was a great time and our social obligations are fulfilled for awhile. DH was great putting the house back together this morning just in time for house cleaner. Yeah we had party with dirty house. So what.
Liz I am glad to hear Mike is getting fast treatment. Fiddling around makes everyone nervous. A friend recently had a pacemaker put in. I think they put it in but then it's a few weeks before it is activated. She has an apple watch that tells her what her heart rate is and such. So does DH which is why he ended up in the ER a few weeks ago. I am envisioning Justice as a wind balloon! Maybe he needs ballast.
CC you are doing stuff just fine for your guests. Doing stuff ahead is overrated. It will be fun. hope they are the kind of guests that can be a bit self sufficient.
Well it's already november and year end is approaching. Time for financial chores. I need to get extra petty cash to the gallery as a worker overcharged a credit card accidentally and had to make a cash refund. That said, I feel like staying home in pjs all day. My back and legs are killing me from last night being on my feet so much.
Peps hoping the c section goes well and that there are loads of healthy pups. Enjoy. I think about your dad from time to time and hope he is comfortable and peaceful. Part of the problem with crazy pat was that I think she was afraid. Made her cranky.
Well time for me to eat some cold cuts. Cheers and trick or treat. Diane S
That is so cool that you had a huge Halloween turnout. Good to see kids (and adults) having fun!
Also getting ready for a guest! Aussie sister lands at 8:45pm. Well, hopefully, as The President is here in Minnesota today, and I think that's close to the time Air Force 1 is taking off. DH, who is an "aviation enthusiast" went over to the airport to watch it land this afternoon.
One of my Sped co workers, who we thought was on medical leave, may actually have walked off the job this week and isn't planning on returning. In the words of King George in Hamilton, "I wasn't aware that was something a person could do."
Not much else. Looking forward to sleeping until 8am Friday, as I took a sick day so I could get to my parents house around noon.
