Happy Halloween! No trick or treating here though we are going to a Bocce cookout tonight (costumes are encouraged).
Last night we heard a lot of jumping in the water but it was too dark to see what it was. I wonder if dolphins frolic after dark? We also saw the SpaceEx launch while eating dinner - very cool though we didn't even know what we were watching at first.
DH has an appointment with a cardiologist this morning. Not sure what will be done in advance of the monitor results and blood tests but at least the process has started. We are sitting in the waiting area now.
Have a Happy Halloween!!!
ETA: Good thing we saw the cardiologist. DH's heart rate is disturbingly low so he will be scheduled for a pacemaker in 7-10 days. In the meantime he finishes up with blood tests, etc. but unless there is an indication that something else is causing it they will go ahead. In the meantime he isn't supposed to take long walks, drive, work-out, or play golf. I hope he doesn't go crazy!

No trick or treaters here either. I'm alright with that. I always seemed to eat more than I gave away anyway!
I walked with my neighbor this morning and have a board meeting and an executive committee meeting later. Sigh. 13 more months...
Aside from that, not much happening here!
Greetings all
Early check in for me since the zillion spooks descend here at dark. I have the table set with paper pumpkin plates and will pick up the deli trays at 3. DH has been good about moving the dog crates and setting up the extra table. Every year I realize I don't have enough silverware for 12. Don't know why I just don't buy some more. That said, I really miss Bed Bath and Beyond. It was the only decent houseware store. Now it's just Target and Kohls. I had forgotten I had all those pumpkin plates. Who knows what other treasures are in the Halloween storage tub. Not candy.
Our nephew's wife, Lalo, writes and records kids music. Go to Youtube and look for "Freckles Project Spooky Wooky". Its cute. She and their kids are in the video.
Liz glad you got to the cardiologist with Mike. Our brother in law had this issue at the beginning of covid and was probably the last pacemaker put in before shut down. He is doing fine. But before that he had a couple of fainting episodes. So please enforce careful behavior.
And hmmm, I don't know if dolphins frolic at night. Maybe it was drunk people. I assume marine mammal sleep at night but who knows. There is a marine mammal rescue near here but I think they mostly get seals and sea lions. Fun to watch the videos when they release the healed ones.
CC lucky you to not have to get candy. Sounds like houses are too far apart for much action there. I know other single people who have to turn off all the lights and hide to avoid answering the door all night. Hence our party strategy.
Well the pino gregio is chilling and the pickles and olives are waiting to be opened. All is well.

Agree with everyone else, thank goodness your DH followed up on his symptoms! Hopefully the procedure goes smoothly, and he's back on the golf course in short order.
Yes, I would imagine trick or treaters wouldn't venture into your neighborhood CC, the ratio of expended effort to candy collection wouldn't be too rewarding.
Despite the cold, we've had about 30 trick or treaters so far. Before it started, we went out to dinner. I was craving a meal, so we went to a restaurant where I could get chicken marsala with a side of asparagus and mashed potatoes. I ate 1/4 of the meal, but it tasted very delicious and bit the spot. Normally I'm not to interested in meat, but this preparation makes it so tender. I'll be eating it for lunch the next few days.
My Aussie sister surprised me by saying she would come and help with my Mom this weekend. What a delight. What seemed like a weekend of obligation while my Mom described every wrong ever done her now holds the possibility for some fun. She arrives tomorrow night, so well have her a day or two for fun at our house also.
Things grow ever grimmer at work. A colleagues husband went to the emergency room last week, and was told he was in terminal kidney failure. He passed away Saturday. Another sped teacher went on medical leave suddenly, but we don't know why. One of our dean's was hospitalized, and released, and will be on leave also. One of my favorite sped co workers had follow up appointments today with a cardiologist! He's not yet 50, and is an extreme athlete. He does 100 mile bike races in the dead of winter. What is going on?!
I had a raucous day with students, just super frustrating. But in keeping with my new plan, I spent a few minutes talking about it with DH, and then put it aside. I'm off duty. Dinner out helped flip the switch.
Diane I hope your party is so much fun. The lead up is often stressful, but once the friends gather , it's worth it.
Your plan to put aside your work day woes sounds like a good one. Not always easy though.
