Busy day yesterday starting with boat training, then listening to music at our frequent outdoor venue in the afternoon. The busy day led to me falling asleep early which led to me waking up at 2:30 this morning unable to go back to sleep. It is just after 5:30 now. Even Justice is still snoozing away as is DH.

We leave at 7:30 this morning to meet with DH's son and fiancé for brunch followed by the Patriots/Dolphins game. We didn't arrange to stay because I had jury duty beginning tomorrow morning but the pool has already been dismissed. Oh well.

DD is asking questions about the process of bariatric surgery. She has not been successful in losing weight. I did tell her that it isn't an easy fix - that one still has to change their eating habits though that first year or so help the process. I hope this will work out for her. Of course the first step is making sure it is covered by insurance and determining what their requirements are.

Time to get Justice out since he will have a long day of no walks. Have a super Sunday!

I think it's great your daughter is exploring surgery. If this is the right path/decision for her, what an advantage to do it now while she is young. It's certainly not a perfect fix, but it is still statistically the most effective. Maybe one day the brave new world of medications will replace surgery. Or maybe surgery will become a 2 pronged intervention: surgical with pharmaceutical support...

I got a lot of nothing done yesterday. Life is so heavily controlled during the work week, a bell moves me from class period to class period, and within each class period is my schedule for the lesson plan. Its nice to have some down time and just be, just exist, without the drumbeat of a schedule.

We enjoyed the Gilbert & Sullivan Opera. My friend and I were in debate and speech together starting in 8th grade. So I've been a fan of his performances for close to 50 years.

Today we are going to a memorial service, then home for The Vikings vs Green Bay Packers. I might use the time to go to Costco...

Greetings all

It's sunny today and almost hot. I have completed one chore which was pruning back the princess bu****'s fabulous and in bloom but it sticks out in front of the kitchen bay window and blocks the view of the walk, thus interfering with Halloween watching. Anyway it's cut back now. I insist on doing this chore rather than DH because I can do it in a more artistic way so the bush does not look like it was attacked by a lawnmower. (ie the way the tree trimmers did the front maple tree). Looking around the front yard I can see it needs attention - a couple of heathers are dead and the rest need pruning. I may call our former neighbor. She needs work and its not heavy work.

But first is Halloween. Still trying to clear junk out of the way. When does this chore ever end?

Liz that boat looked like fun. Ditto the sailboats. Keep it up! And enjoy the game.

I found some pants I have not worn in years. They seemed to fit ok. But wearing them around they now feel tight in the legs. Must be why I quit wearing them. For a minute I thought maybe I had lost some weight. Don't think so.

DD have a relaxing sunday. Pro football is fun because you can sort of half pay attention to it and half read the newspaper. If anything important happens they show it again.

Well the kitchen table is calling me. Actually it is screaming "get this junk out of here". I think DH destroyed the flyer for the junk removal service but I know how to find them....

I took a nice hike this morning. Only 3 miles, but I didn't feel awful like last time. Much better hydrated, I think!

Other than that, working on a crocheted garland for my Christmas tree (so cute) and watching Bodies on Netflix. Took a few episodes to hook me, but it's got some great twists.

I will have to check out bodies. Always looking for a new show.
