Happy Friday! The weekend is here soon.
Yesterday was a busy day with doctor appointments, going over to the old house again to get a couple of things, and playing bocce.
DH returned from his PCP appointment with a heart monitor he has to wear for 2 weeks. He has been complaining about feeling funny (dizzy, fuzzy, nauseous) for a couple of months. Apparently his heart rate is quite low so there is a possibility that he may need a pacemaker if there is no other obvious cause. Kind of disturbing but apparently one of the main causes is old age and it can be managed. I think he had been used to weight as being his only issue as he was always fit and has great blood pressure (unlike me). He has been referred to a cardiologist and his PCP is having follow-up blood tests done. I'm glad he saw his PCP.
We are gearing up for a busy next few days. We have appointments today to fix the electric fireplace here (the "flames" don't flicker anymore), get an estimate to fix a cracked tile on the roof at the old house, boat training tomorrow morning, and we are going to the Patriots/Dolphins game on Sunday. DH's future DIL got tickets from one of the Dolphin players.
Not much else on the agenda. Fitting in the daily long Justice walk has been a bit difficult with everything going on but hopefully we can do it late morning today. He always looks sad staring at the door until we go LOL.
Have a fantastic Friday!

Getting my hair colored. Such a frequent chore! Earlier I had a meeting with the landscape committee that I got drafted to be on. And later I'm going to a plein art painting thing with my neighbor.
Our book club was last night. So fun! Nice group of ladies.
I'm starting to get a little nervous about my friend coming. My fitness level being so low when all she want to do is hike, my weight so high (she can be critical in an unhelpful mothering way), and this after her comment on my hair "Oh my God, your hair is so short!). She is otherwise a lovely friend and we have a lot of fun and I think a lot of comes from genuine concern, but this is her flaw. I much prefer friends that don't make me feel self conscious or that I've disappointed them in some way. Argh.
I hope you all are well and happy!
Yeah, a tough friend at times it sounds like. She probably feels like a mother giving helpful advice.
Thank goodness your DH went to see his doctor. And that the doctor paid attention to his symptoms! The heart monitor should get some good data. It's no fun to be surprised at a medical appointment. As my doctor told me once, No one wants to be an interesting case.
Today was a decent day. It's one that ended with me feeling tired, but not frustrated. I'll take it. Especially nice going into the weekend.
We're not going to our usual Friday Happy Hour. I'm that tired. We'll probably go out for coffee tomorrow morning. As for now, there's a frozen pizza in the oven and DH will concoct some adult beverages. And then probably Netflix or some other streaming service.
Our run of warm weather has ended. From the low 60s to a mean 38 today, and all weekend. It was nice, too bad it didn't last until Halloween. The kiddos are going to freeze, and worse, have to wear a winter coat over their costumes!
Haha! I've been an "interesting" case far too many times in my life. My father at one point in my early adulthood suggested that I get "...a "family physician" who knows you well because when you do get sick you don't do it in a small way!" This was shortly after several trips to the ER for swelling and hives of unknown origin that ended up with me on major steroids causing a 15 pound weight gain in a matter of days, the skin on my feet splitting open from the swelling, etc.... My first time being an interesting case was at 4 years old - I had a migraine headache. Docs were worried I had meningitis. Sometime shortly after I was diagnosed with my bone disease. But I will say being an "Interesting case" can be good conversation fodder!
I guess your warm weather moved to the Northeast. Everyone there was reveling in the summer-like weather this weekend.
I am happy it is Friday! Next week will be tough as an itinerant teacher - Halloween excitement will have the kiddos pretty high. This week went pretty darn well, but I'm tired and a bit run down with a possible cold bug. Whatever I have is mild, mild, but just enough to give me a raspy voice and make me feel a bit tired and run down.
I've been using a snore guard apparatus this week. Fell out of my mouth twice last night. Not sure how well it's going to work long term. I wi**** stayed put. Ron reports it works.
Ate a very protein forward breakfast today to see if that might help me resist the sugar carbs available at school this week. Luckily, today's school doesn't have a staff room that calls to me and I generally take lunch in my car. That's what I did today. When I got home snack was a protein shake. We'll see how that goes - especially since I have a shrink appointment in a few minutes.
Will be nice to be home/not dog showing this weekend. I could use a day to sleep in!
Happy weekend to all....
Greetings all
The sun is out in full force. That and the fact that it's Friday always gives me a lift even though I have not had a real job in a long time.
Well Liz, be grateful that DH doctor is paying attention. I have had that monitor twice and so has DH. Makes it hard to wash hair. I tied a trash bag around my neck like a bib but it did not work that well. But the monitors work and are otherwise not annoying. Hope it turns out to be nothing.
DD glad you can have a relaxing weekend. No need for compulsory fun. Vegging is good.
I ran errands today - gallery banking, trip to the clay store, studio time and later a trip to the grocery for stuff for halloween party. I ordered the deli trays and today picked up pickles and olives and condiments. I am the queen of no effort parties. Also picked up several boxes of wine.
CC sounds like you have lots of fun stuff to do. Why not call out your friend for saying unkind stuff? She probably has no idea. Of course, easy for me to say.
Peps good that you have good primary care. One never knows what weird health issues arise. I had a friend who was a family practitioner because he liked the variety - anything could walk in. And I get eating lunch in the car. I used to do that just for a quiet escape. How is your dad doing these days?
DH is doing laundry. He always waits until he does not have one single pair of socks left. Then it's an all day marathon.
Well we are hoping for good Halloween weather. Otherwise, we are going to have load of candy to get rid of.
