Very excited about puppies coming next week. It is fun to live vicariously through the pictures. I'd love to have a puppy but it absolutely doesn't make any sense.

So the house is relisted at a lower price and with half the furniture. We shall see what happens.

On the subject of house sales, DS was asking this weekend about what we would do with all the furnishings when I sell my Cape Cod home. In particular the rug in my bedroom came up as it is an antique Persian rug formerly belonging to my MIL. We had it in the living room of the home my kids grew up in for 20 years as MIL didn't have space for it after she moved (it is about 25' X 12'). When we moved to Cape Cod we actually had our bedroom lengthened to accommodate it so I have had it for about 30 years now. DS had suggested that we offer it to my BIL on the west coast as he is the only one with a home big enough to accommodate it but my DH just pointed out that our living room/dining room is large enough. Lots of time to decide and I always loved that rug but the style may or may not fit.

Last night we had dinner out then went to the play. Really a great production and all the seats in the theater are terrific though ours are in the middle which is good.

Today is bocce and maybe some beach or pool time prior to that.

Have a thrilling Thursday!

Lots of activity here yesterday. The construction guys came back for touch ups, to finish the shower in my dad's room (door and fixtures), and rehang the door. And landscapers made the grass underlayment area was made about twice as big. Grass goes in today. Then pop up sprinklers to allow it to be washed and cooled and lighting. They did chip the stucco wall, but will patch and paint that too. Since it was just painted, it shouldn't show.

Today is my book club. I finished the book last night. I enjoyed it. I think the dog was my favorite character! I need to go to the store to get something snacky to take.

The weather is so nice here right now. It will be 70 today.

That's all I know!

3 in every 100,000 seniors is still pretty low risk: roughly a 0.00003% increased chance of stroke.

Why risk it though if the FDA is warning about it? Small chance or not, if you're one of the unlucky ones, it would have been nice to know going in that something as simple as breaking them up could have prevented it!

Agreed. I don't plan on getting the covid vaccine anyhow. I just had covid at the end of August, early September, so I'm just doing a flu shot in November. If my doc recommends the covid booster, I'll get it December or January.

I'm just amused by the statistics that the FDA chooses to report and issue warnings about. The FDA seemed unconcerned that the initial Covid vaccines caused major blot clots in some patients, but increased chances of a TIA are taken seriously. Makes little sense to me at times....

Fully agree about not making sense what they warn about! I still haven't caught it and never had a booster. The people I know who've had it the most are the most diligent about boosters, which is totally anecdotal, but gives me pause. I'm not anti-vax at all (childhood vaccines, flu, shingles, pneumonia, all good), but I do not trust mRNAs. Maybe in 40 years if they can prove it's safe and work like the others, I'll change my mind. Haha.

Today I paid the price on the scale for lack of carb control at school yesterday. Coupled with a good workout, inflammation is high today. Up a pound. Dammit! Oh well.....

Easy work day today. That's nice.

Yes, puppies are joyful....

As mentioned carbs like that on display are pretty difficult to resist - don't beat yourself up.

Greetings all

It's sunny again today. Hope it continues. Rain will come soon enough.

I woke up feeling rather crappy today. I attribute it to the covid shot. Didn't hurt at the time but I was sore and cranky this morning. I actually took some advil and that helped. Fine now. Yeah I will get a flu shot and probably that other one in the next couple of weeks. Because a zillion people will be at our door on Halloween we decided it was a good idea to get the booster. Seems like I am one of not that many people who never got covid and I am grateful for that. I had a pneumonia shot a couple of months ago and I will get whatever is recommended. I am one big pin cushion.

We had our board meeting today and it was rather dragged out. We will spend some money to get some new potters wheels and a shed to store art glass. I wish we could just get rid of the glass but I guess its good to get it out of the main studio where it gathers dust.

DH had lunch out and brought home fish and chips. Dinner tonight. I will make the lentil soup tomorrow.

So I am slowly moving the zillion objects off the table and counter for Halloween next week. I cant clear too fast because DH will just put more junk out there. Started the grocery list for party stuff. A run to Target or costco is needed to get beaucoup candy. News flash, DH just called and he is headed to costco. Tons of candy on the way.

CC congrats on the projects happening. Always feels good to check stuff off the list. Getting ready for puppy!! And Peps too only lots more.

Liz I hear you on the rug. I have one of my grandparents and it's rolled up in the garage. Let someone have it who can use it. I gave a rocking chair to a friend who needed one. My grandfather had rescued and refurbished it but it was doing us no good here. Glad the show was good.

Peps I hope the impact of the sugar bomb passes soon. Guess it is the season of the food pushers so we all have to get ready. Just thinking of all those desserts makes me want to go eat a reece's .
